Does anyone know any cheap tournament venues?
Not a school, because they have too many restrictions.

Try and see if you have a Play N Trade in your area. They charged $150 minimum for the day for me to use their store to host a tournament. I charged $10.00 venue fee per person, so I would have needed at least 15 people to come to cover that cost. 26 people came, so that covered the costs, I didn't pay anything.

Just curious, what schools have you looked at that have any restrictions? All of the universities in my area pretty much give us the room, and cables we need, a few tvs, and say have at it. Albeit, I am a student, so I rent it out that way, but still.

My high school. They won't allow anybody out of town to come.

If you are really serious about it, go ahead and contact any local university or community college. I'm sure you can get a space there for either very very cheap, or free. If for some reason they want to charge a rather large amount of money because you aren't a student, just find a student that plays smash or something similar (Gaming Club? member? and ask them to rent it out for you.

You can also try churches. I know of many tournaments that have successfully been ran through church venues.
