Seeing him free from the constraints known as Pokemon Trainer was pretty good. At the same time I feel kind of bad for the two (technically three) cuts from the Pokemon roster. I'm expecting good things from him.

1) Hopefully a better recovery now that gliding has been removed.
2) A better Side Special. Rock smash was fantastic but Lizardon needs more fire.

He's going to have an actually useful Down-B now.

I mean, it could still be crap, but it's aeons better than what it used to be.

Did anyone notice he has a rocket-type attack similar to luigi, villager or pikachu?

Slower, but he's moving forward and engulfed in flames. Could this replace the mega-death rock?

Ok I just have to say, I kind of figured Charizard would go solo, he's too cool to be hindered by those weakling not fully evolved Pokémon, Squirtle and
Ivysaur.

That flaming spin looked like his Dash Attack or Side-Special. My guess is Dash Attack.

Since he's alone, I'm expecting he'll be buffed a bit. My reasoning for this is because he no longer has his swapping ability to cover for his weaknesses. I think he'll assume a similar role to Ganondorf. He'll be a stock tank in doubles and a hard hitter, just slow. Hopefully, as you all have been saying, he'll get a new recovery without his glide. I think the fire to the side was his dash attack: proof that he is being buffed. I expect his attacks to be quick, but for him in general to be slow.

Real talk, my latest Nuzlocke ended with only Charizard surviving to the E4. Solo'd them with an underleveled Mega 'Zard X.

He's earned his emancipation.

Charizard made this Direct for me, I'll be honest! His reveal was equal to Diddy's in my eyes.

My dissapointment with Sheik being there (and being UGLY AS SIN OH MY GODD) faded completely at the moment when Charizard happened!

Hope Flare Blitz is indeed his new Down B!

I think the move is either Flame Charge or Flare Blitz. That would suck if it was Flare Blitz and he took recoil damage.


I love Charizard, but I doubt I will main him. Anyone else think it's cool how Mario was gonna use Fire Punch against Charizard's Fire Fang?

If they did keep the Pokemon Master for whatever reason (which I don't think they will if only because there's Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, and soon-to-be-Jigglypuff) he would only have a single pokemon based upon no in game switches announced in the direct.

I've been playing Project M a bit more lately, and using Charizard. I would like him to have Seismic Toss, but just having the game more balanced (like it seems to be) will make using him more of a reality.
