You can get Ditto via Action Replay on Melee I think.

Yes, I have heard this. I believe he was a Pokeball Pokemon, though.
Ditto =/= Kirby.

theres already a (few) thread(s) on this.
it would be a cool addition from just picking a random character from outside the the selection area, and then half the time people are like "ohh no way i want a random character but not this one..." i think it would be a cool addition to the game. thumbs up

Just because this was a good idea when properly thought through, here's the link to the real Ditto topic, before this topic is locked.
And saying Ditto is the same as Kirby is like saying Mewtwo is the same as Zelda.

Looks like common sense isn't apparently common. Ditto turns into it's foes. Kirby ingests and turns into his foes.

Technically Kirby sucks them up and "takes their power." That's not the same as turning into the character. Sorry.

Well actually he was supposed to be a pokeball in smash bros. melee...
Also the random button was at E 4 all and it wasn't ditto, it'd be nice if they changed it though.
If anyone has played Soul Caliber, there is a character named Charade who, when chosen, transforms randomly to any of the other characters on the roster. Ditto would be like that. Personally, i like the idea.
The more the marrier. It'd be more interesting then simply having a "Random" icon. Imagine it, a ditto version of Peach. It'll be hilariously cute.

You know what would be really interesting? If there was a Ditto, and he did act like a random, but every time he lost a stock, he'd change into a random character. Like you start out, and get Fox, but after you lose a stock, you'll respawn as Link. That way he'd be more than a random slot.

That wouldn't work for a lot of people, most people can't play well with all characters.

Well what if it was a special kind of 1-player mode, where instead of your opponent changing every battle, you change instead. Sort of the opposite of classic mode.

Ditto evolves into Kirby, he would just be the new pichu of brawl (SARCASMZZZ)

And also in 3, there was Olcadan. Don't forget him.
But really, in most fighting games, ther is a "random" character. Tekken had Mokujin, SC had Charade/Olcadan, but Smash has yet to get a character like that. Ditto for Brawl!

I really like this idea.
Picking Ditto on the Character Selection screen would mean that the opponents wouldn't be able to counter-pick yours...and vice versa.
For the character entrance he could start the match and transform into the random character. His eyes could just be different (I think they did that in the show), so not much remodelling wouldn't have to be done.

Ditto would be like a Jelly-Looking version of a random character. Say the random character is Pikachu, you get a Pinkish jelly looking version of Pikachu. It wouldn't be Jelly (And defore when hit), it'd just look like it.
