Character Size Modifications?

I noticed in the August 2nd update (Castle Siege) that Donkey Kong is markedly bigger than the human characters, in this shot especially:

Does this mean that the size differences between the characters are going to be more representative of true character size (i.e. DK and Bowser huge, Pikachu small)? Or am I mistaken?

It would definitely make sense. DK does look frigging huge compared to the other characters.

Yeah DK is fricken huge. And you can tell Yoshi is a bit bigger also. The size change will make Brawl really crazy.

I would agree with this, but Pikachu appears huge still. If this were true, pikachu would be REALLY tiny.

Maybe they DID make Yoshi a bit bigger, but maybe the move DK made him look bigger? Like mario's fists?

So in which shots does Pikachu still look large?
I think it's very well possible that Sakurai strives to make characters as differentiated as possible.

What are you all talking about? DK and Bowser were always that big. In height they were like the same size as all the taller characters. I think Ganondorf's the tallest so he's a fine example. If anything I'd say Pikachu got bigger. I think Yoshi was always that size.

I don't get how Kirby is also bigger. He's about the same size as Mario now! Hmm...too many Maxim Tomatoes. Anyhoo, I do like the fact that the heavyweight characters are bigger now instead of being almost the same size as everyone else in Melee. It adds to the realism I think. I wonder just how big Ridley will be if he's in...

I like the new size mods, Yoshi should look like something you can ride, DK should look like an Ape that could crush you, and Bowser should be atleast twice Mario's size or more.

Well the extra strength is offset with a bigger target, slower speed, faster falling? Sounds fair to me, personally.

The flaw with making these big/slow character fast fallers is that they won't be able to use short hopping as well due their slower aerials. Well, i'll say whatever brings balance to the character.

Look at how huge Pikachu and Kirby are compared to Samus and Zelda. They're over half the girls' size.

Mario is almost Link's height. Sure, Link is sort of Crouching but Mario is somewhat too.

but even so, yesterday's update, in the Trailer, both Mario & Kirby were miniscule when standing next to Zelda and Peach

The character's sizes seem to have been freaquently tinkered with....just one of many examples why the game is still in development

if however, I was to guess which would be the most accurate example to show final chatacter sizes, It would be in yesterday's trailer, assuming (because it's cinamatic...and more likely to be complete) that the same footage will be used for Brawl

You guys need to understand perspective. Pikacu looks big in that shot because the camera is at an angle to the stage and he is in the foreground, he's not any bigger than he was before.
