You're making it sound like the Luma is completely inferior to Nana is when it comes to moveset.

I hope I made it sound like that.

Nana is literally a clone of Popo, she's basically made the same way clones of Mario and Co. were made in 3D World with the Double Cherry. She only has a different model. The Luma is vastly different Rosalina and I'd imagine that it must have taken much longer to program Rosalina & Luma than it would have taken to program the Ice Climbers in previous games. It takes more time to create to unique movesets than it is to create one, double it, and add in a couple extra specials when the two are together.
Besides, even then there only is a 5 move difference (Pummel, FThrow, DThrow, UThrow, BThrow) between Luma and Nana. As if it matters that much in the first place.
I read what you said, and you said that Rosaluma has less moves than the Ice Climbers. Which, developmentally, is not true.

You did NOT read what I said. I said LUMA has less moves. If you had read the post, you would know I could only be referring to Rosalina OR Luma. Not both. But, alas you did not read it as you twice claimed to have.

While I do think that Sakurai can surprise us with something else, sometimes the choice is too obvious for even Sakurai to turn down.
Lucina is pretty similar to Marth (sorry Kenith), Roy is irrelevant (sorry everyone), and Robin is an idea that I don't think Sakurai has really considered (sorry you).
Chrom just makes sense, plain and simple. Which is why I have my money on Chrom.

I'm going to hold you to that if Mewtwo doesn't get in.

But why would Sakurai just glance over Robin? He/She is one of the main protagonists of Fire Emblem Awakening; anyone who's played the game knows who Robin is. Just because he/she is an avatar character (which the Villager was as well), doesn't mean he/she is out of the realm os possibility for Sakurai to at least consider.

Chrom is planned to be in the game, but is cut out shortly before release due to time constraints, development time spent elsewhere, or other problems.

Not trying to stir anything up, but I think people were getting confused and aggravated with you because you stated Luma has less moves, but didn't state why that fact was important to the discussion. Why should it matter that Luma has less moves than Nana? I'm genuinely asking, 'cos I'm confused. :v

So...
The Kid Icarus character will instead be Thanatos. We all expected Palutena so let's shake things up.
We will get a DK newcomer in the form of Tiki Tong. He's relevant and a big surprise.
Our Zelda newcomer will be Groose. Imagine the surprise on everyone's faces when they see Groose!

Just because we get some surprises doesn't mean that a deserving character that makes sense is unlikely.
FE has a great cast, and I wouldn't mind seeing someone else instead of Chrom, but that logic is flawed.

I think Robin will be considered by all means. But, that Sakurai will still be hesitant simply because it's a character with too many identities.

I feel like Wolf getting cut is inevitable. To be honest he is admittedly an expendable character, I don't mean to sound like one of those clone nazis, but I think from the view of Sakurai, a third character with Fox moves isn't THAT important won't be very high priority this time around. I think he was more of a fan demand character for Brawl and that his purpose has been fulfilled and thus might no longer be needed.

I pray that it's not the case. I love Wolf's move set an Wolf as a character. It'll be sad not having a Star Wolf character. But, priority wise I think he's really low on the list.

I apologize for the day late response, but if Wolf does get the axe, do you think Mr. Sakurai would leave the Star Fox franchise at 2?

I have no objections to Groose, I honestly want to see him more than Vaati.

Absolutely. That's not even something I think he would hesitate to do if it came to that (by which I mean leaving it at 2. Not cutting Wolf). 3 Star Fox characters is a little more than to be expected.

Im actually curious about your points on Krystal. I cant really think of any solid arguments against her other than Starfox not getting another character. Granted, that does say quite a bit, but why do you think she will be included? (Im not a huge fan of Krystal, but I certainly dont hate her. SFA was pretty cool.)

I wouldn't be too surprised if Krystal made it in.
I think she's one of the 50/50 characters, where its difficult to judge her chance.
I don't think it would be completely crazy to have 4 Starfox characters. But she wouldn't be added for series representation. She'd be added because she's actually one of the most requested characters and has good potential for a moveset and fun playstyle. I dislike when people say she has no shot because Starfox "doesn't need any more reps". If a small-ish series has 4 great characters that would be like able fighters, then really, what's the big deal? There are very few extremely important choices left outside the Elite 4. Maybe... Arguably 2?
I just don't get why people get so hostile over Krystal's inclusion sometimes. I actually like the character. And well I think it's a bit gross when people call her hot, it doesn't make me hate her at all.
I think it could go either way with Krystal, but I support her too.

From what I've seen:

Fans made her look bad (Then again, every other characters' fans has bad apples but I think its a vocal minority)
Not good of a character in the franchise (Slightly understandable)
The general notation of her replacing Falco or Wolf
Takes a spot over a more requested character like K Rool
"Star Fox doesn't need a newcomer!!"

(We should take this in the Krystal thread, could use a little activity over there )

Star Fox honestly is an enigma when it comes to its characters, all that needs to happen is for Sakurai to go ahead and make their movesets distinguishable from one another and then they will be fine. Personally I think three characters is fine and with Krystal I can see the appeal to add her, though at that point would the franchise's character pool be over-saturated unless you would want to cut Falco or Wolf.

I know this question has probably been dragged into the dirt so many times recently, but I haven't been here to see the answers so I guess I'll ask it myself...

Assuming we got 3 characters at E3, who would you think they'd be? 1 newcomer and 2 vets, all newcomers, 2 newcomers and 1 veteran - mix it up however you like, but what would be your predictions based on this scenario? Mine would have to be:

1. Ridley (assuming he's not an unlockable)
2. Pac-Man/Snake (or both!) because I can't see them keeping third-parties secret given how much of a huge selling point they are
3. Palutena/????? - I'm torn between the third one being either somebody really obvious like Palutena, or a complete curveball nobody could have possibly guessed

So yeah... what would you like to see, come E3 time?

Well considering I believe there is at most 4-5 newcomers left to reveal (based on how many cuts we get) I think we will probably only see 1 new comer at E3, and at most two before the game is released.

Snake, Pac-Man and Mewtwo would make a fantastic E3 for Smash Bros.

Though I wouldn't put it past Sakurai to reveal other characters like K. Rool and Palutena on the floor akin to Wii Fit Trainer's reveal, which was totally separate from the direct.

That doesn't make any sense because it would entirely defeat the purpose of removing Wolf. That's like if Sakurai thought MOTHER didn't need 2 characters and thought Lucas was expendable because he shares moves with Ness, and then he turns around and adds Ninten.

I personally don't think so because of how unique and loved he was in Brawl.
Snake was a very unexpected character and the first 3rd-party so I'd say he has a 50/50 chance for now.

I agree and while Pac would be a cool character I wouldn't want Snakes move-set to go no matter what and there isn't really another character that can use those moves so I really hope Snake returns

I think it's possible Snake gets the boot, but I don't think it'll be because we have "too many 3rd parties"

4 3rd party characters in a roster of about 45 is just about anything but overwhelming. I don't see the problem with that.
