You shouldn't let a fan-base dictate how you feel about a character, is it truly that difficult to discern the character from the fans?

I face that everyday when it comes to the characters I support.

The guy who predicted WFT's reveal at E3 released a second set of predictions, one of which is "Chorus Men" from Rhythm Heaven.

I don't know why people have taken that as a sign to expect Marshal instead of "Chorus Men".

For once I agree with you on something.

Ness and the good Captain are the last two of my original three mains that haven't shown up yet, I'd rather hope they're both starters again this time.

Hopefully, Ness and Sonic were my brawl mains, it's kinda weird that Sonic, a THIRD PARTY CHARACTER was revealed before a lot of other deserving characters, Ness among them.

I'm expecting Ness, Falcon, and a couple of the other unannounced veterans to fill the space before our next big reveal. They can't just blow all the veterans at once, he needs to be able to parse information out until release; which is just another few months.

Which translates to low Smash demands, which means that reason can't be used to explain the Chorus Men, considering that series representation aren't proportional to series popularity as shown by the number of Mario and Pokemon characters relative to their sales and the representation of less popular franchises such as Mother.

I did end up doing some major tweaking with my roster input with the new information that the Smash Bros. Direct revealed to us...

Lucas comes back, and considering the amount of positive reception that Xenoblade Chronicles seems to have, Shulk has been added. Pac-Man has also been included, seeing as there has been some Namco representation.

Regarding Ridley, until we know which Ridley incarnation is the stage hazard, THE Ridley is still fair game.

Though as for changes, I'd like to see him powered up some more, for sure. After that, I'd either make him a little heavier or a little faster to balance out some of his negative attributes. I'd also love to see his psychic powers incorporated into more of his general move set. Being able to attack with psychic energy is something we haven't exactly seen before, and would go a long way in making him unique. Also, do something about that side and down specials. Those were practically useless. Give him something like Psycho Cut, Future Sight, Pressure, Swift... Just anything to make those specials useful.

Well I actually mean a little heavier than that. Closer to charizard or dedede even, also Lucario builds power as he takes damage, I want mewtwo to have a few naturally powerful sending moves.

I just watch the Gamexplain characters video and it is kind of silly. They dismiss ROB but then say Game and Watch will be back and their reasons for his return (unique moves, important to Nintendo history, visually distinct from other characters) also apply to ROB.

...So why cut Lucas at all? Who could replace him? And why go through the effort of adding a brand new character when the one you intend to replace is fine as is?

I would hate for the Mother series to go back down to 1 rep, and I would also hate for multiple reps just from 1 of the 3 games in the series.

Mother is the series the would be hurt the most by a cut. Fire Emblem will get a new rep in the case of a cut, and Star Fox would be fine going to two if worse came to worse.

I know you are not arguing FOR Lucas to be cut, but it makes so much more sense to just revamp Lucas and Ness a bit (specials, weight, etc) then to create a new character for the series. I'm starting to get more worried about cuts then new comers.

I remember people before complaining about rosters being too similar. Now that we know most of the characters, we really are only going to be few characters different in prediction.

Also, is it me or is K. Rool being predicted more than Mewtwo (at least on Smashboards)? Not that K. Rool is unlikely, but I just find this potential development to be humorous since Mewtwo is pretty much the closest thing to a shoe-in we have (outside of leaked characters that is).

We need to figure out a way to predict Sakurai.

We're better off using our own arbitrary criteria (and realizing they are) for discussing characters rather than figuring out Sakurai. This man has thrown a lot of curveballs this time around and who's to say he's not done yet with surprises (even when factoring in leaked characters)?

Plus remember that character speculation are meant to be fun and not taken seriously. We're inevitably going to get stuff wrong on characters (heck, I've already gotten characters on my last prediction roster before E3 '13 disconfirmed).

I've seen other pictures where Marth's sword glows like that, but your theory about shield breaker is possible

Ok good roster but theres a couple of problems but overall very likely

1 its takamaru because of greninja his role as a ninja pokemon with ninja stars and with a water sword kind of really really hurts takamaru a chances i would replace him with Mach rider or duck hunt dock or the rythem heaven character.

2 lucas well don't get me wrong it's still possible he could come back but not looking good

3 I think almost everyone shown will be starters

4 your saying none of the newcomers are going to be starters

5 I can't really see Dixie kong because of the kremlings as enemy's that gives king k rool the heavy side of likeliness of being playable.

6 bowser jr ?????? Dude we have way to many mario reps I think 5 is enough (excluding yoshi and wario due to coming from they're own games)

Because of being "redundant" due to Fox and Ness, respectively. Also, in Wolf's case, people also argue that the state of Star Fox combined with him being low-priority in Brawl means he's likely to be cut.

I don't doubt it. Still, certain characters do get put on a pedestal here.

Aside from the fact Wolf has been in Starfox since the beginning.
Really, I don't see the point of removing either of them.
