I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get anything, but I hate when Sakurai gives us these "character droughts" every now and again.
At least we'll probably get a newcomer in April.

It would be funny to get a silly newcomer reveal on April 1st, like Tingle.

Hey, people are still bitter after not getting a reveal for X and Y. If we go an entire month without a reveal people will be slightly pissed.

However, there is next month, which will be the inevitable Direct. So I'm looking forward to that.

Don't give me hope for a Smash Direct.

I don't think we're gonna be getting anymore characters for a while if unlockable characters are a thing. The roster almost feels like a natural evolution of the starter roster, unless Luigi, Mega Man, and Sonic are actually unlockable, in which case, we may get more characters. Other than that though, I don't expect many characters until E3. Maybe one before E3 in the next Direct (and if we get anyone pre-E3, it'll be Palutena, I think).

At this point, I'd be happy if he went into more detail about game modes and game mechanic changes. The item overload is getting to be a bit much, I feel like we are getting too many items all clumped together. So yeah, modes and mechanics would be nice. Even seeing some menus would be cool, or the results screen.

I understand why people think Palutena is going to be revealed next month. And I'm sure Sakurai is aware of the leaks and what not. So, I've formed the conclusion that Sakurai is probably going to keep Palutena locked up for a while, and maybe reveal her at E3, or something.

Good overall roster, I just see two problems

Problem #1. They would not change Pokemon Trainers name to Red.

Problem #2. I honestly don't see Geno coming to Smash.

Good roster at all, but...

Cut Geno, it's a never happening character. Cut Krystal, she's not nescessary. Put Isaac.

Okay, where to begin.

My only real complaints, is to cut Geno. Regardless of his coolness, he's an awkward third-party in that he was a in a Nintendo game but owned by another company that is known to be extremely picky about letting others use their properties. Also, the game itself isn't really that prominent, it never was. Geno is doomed to be a cult favorite, I'm afraid.

Contrary to popular opinion, Krystal does have a chance of appearing, so that's fine. Toon Zelda/Tetra is a reasonable choice that I would be fine with, but I personally feel it would be moot to include them.

Also, thank god someone includes Pacman and not Mii.

I hope Sakurai is focusing more on other IP's rather than stitching on more characters to other IPs that are already represented. Maybe Ridley and Palutena and one more Fire Emblem character after that though he should focus on different IPs. I'm thinking off the top of my head Wonder Red, Takamaru, Shulk, and some more lesser known retro characters. I really hope I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Thanks everybody. I enjoyed the feedback, however, it's exactly what I expected. I've taken cutting Geno into consideration, but despite the fact that he isn't likely, he's certainly still a viable choice.

Also, I was kinda miffed that Square kept the rights, I haven't bought a Final Fantasy game since Brawl. Or a Mario sports game since hoops 3-on-3.

You my friend have made my favorite roster yet not only does it have good characters it also has very reasonable characters (Ridley's the least reasonable but I am no hater)

Second, everything else is fine. The characters, the layout, it's fine. Though I don't see the the CSP's being organized like that.

The main issue in Geno's way really isn't that he's owned by Square Enix.

It's that he was a sidekick in a twenty-year-old Mario RPG that was quickly overshadowed by the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario series.
But that's just my take on it.

It's rather simple, actually. I'm not really the kind of person who just wants this one specific character I like in the game and then anything else they do with the game is irrelevant. For me, what I want most out of this game is for the roster to feel complete. By complete, I mean that this game is supposed to be, and is ultimately known and loved for being, a collection of Nintendo's biggest all-stars. So, I want this game to be just that; a collection of Nintendo's biggest all-stars. That's why I strongly support characters like Mewtwo, Ridley, and K. Rool, as well as Little Mac previously, because I feel that they are more than deserving of their spot in the game, and are pieces of the puzzle needed to "complete" the roster, at least in my eyes. I'll be very happy when any one of those characters is confirmed, but I don't think I'll be truly satisfied until I feel that the roster has succeeded in including the vast majority of Nintendo's biggest stars. So, that's why I can't just stop caring about reveals because a few of my personal favorites are already in. I hope I explained that well.

I am completely with you there, dude. I feel that same way about the game. It shapes my entire perception of the roster, quite honestly. It's why I detest certain characters, because I feel they don't meet the standard.

Wait, what's wrong with poor R.O.B.? Unless someone has good renders of all the characters, this is the best I can do.
The CSP's aren't meant to be what I think the actual screen will look like, I just made them as a cop out for Miis so I could put a visual to my idea of Miis/Random being a separate option from the actual roster itself. I put them on the sides because it looked nicer and took up less space, fits my screen well too.
