I was butthurt about WFT for like a full minute before I realized I was in love with her.

I disagree with Sakurai about a lot (A LOOOOOOOOOOOOT) of things, but WFT was a good call in my book.

How could I not see the wonder and beauty of a man that decided to take Samus's clothes off instead of adding Ridley?

Thank you for changing my outlook on life.
Maybe he added ZZS because he couldn't make Ridley playable.

So you say this without a basis or reasoning on why he could be a character? Because he has none at all other than being a Punching Bag, I would rather have Wobbuffet do that job than Sandbag.
:p

Ok, you wan reasons I think Sandbag has a chance? Here.
Note that theres are only very subtle reasons.
1. The home run batt was upgraded, and was also shown off without Sandbag. Sandbag and the bat are known for being connected. Wouldn't it make sense to show the off together? and also, the bat was upgraded and made more powerful than the previous bat. While all the other fighters threw the old, low-tech bat aside, they never expected that Sandbag would take it, and use it as some attacks. having it all the time wouldn't be OP, since the item version is stronger than the original is.

2.He was shown in Mac's trailer, but only in the cinematic parts. One of Mac's big things in the trailer was beating up Sandbag, but that was only shown in the cinematic portions. Why wasn't there a single second of Mac beating up Sandbag in the actual gameplay?

Again, these are very vague reasons, but they are still reasons.

Cut Sandbag, Roy/Chrom ( I would cut Roy) or Tingle and add Shulk, and it's perfect.
While 4 FE characters is a bit iffy, I feel Roy has a decent chance, since he is the most popularly requested character (tied with Mewtwo) in Japan. While a character can't get in solely because of popularity, Sakurai can't possibly ignore the most wanted character in his own country!
And Chrom has to be on there too, because Awakening.
I'd cut Ike by process of elimination, but that would cause flamewars as he is unique and whatnot. Plus I don't want him to be cut.

As for Tingle, I think a Zelda newcomer is pretty likely, and to me, Tingle makes the most sense. He has been in both "normal" and "toon" Zelda games, which no character besides the TriTrio and Beedle (and he's Beedle) have done, so he would represent both sides of the series. He is also on of the most recurring characters outside of the TriTrio. Not to mention his array of moveset potential. Balloon Fighter may be horribly unlikely, but he's not the only one who can use balloons!

Shulk is basically the next character I'd add if I had space. The only thing I have against him is that we already have 3 new series represented (AC, WiiFit, and Punch-Out), and if we get 2 retroes, we will have 5 new series represented. Unless Sakurai is going for that, 6 new series seems like a bit much.

And as you can see, I'm not cutting Sandy anytime soon.

The Mii is going to be absolutely horrendous, no matter how shiny its trailer is, thanks to its redundancy and potential for usurping development time, not to mention being Literally Hitler with disturbing regularity. At least the WFT is just a simplistic milquetoast.

Maybe he added ZZS because he couldn't make Ridley playable.
If he "can't" make a character playable, especially just because of the character's aesthetics, he doesn't need to be in charge of one of Nintendo's biggest franchises.

Random dudes have made Ridley playable on laptops from Best Buy in their mom's basements. Sakurai has a huge budget and an entire team.

I don't want a Smash character. I don't play Smash for the Smash elements, I play it because Nintendo.

EDIT: I knew at least one person would take this post as literally as possible.
But Smash has become an iconic Nintendo series.
I don't want to get too far into this argument. My brain is probably going to hurt after this argument. It seems like it is going to be like dividing by zero.

Your reasons don't show why the Sandbag is unique enough to be worth a character. All you are showing me is evidence of the Sandbag, but not the actual moveset potential.

Didn't know that's what you call your pillow.
I think he owns a certain Texas squirrel. :troll:

But Hitler is not a videogame character, a Mii like Reggie or Iwata seems more appropriate for the trailer.

The problem might have to do with hearing that bloody ear piercing whining noise the Mii's produce all over Wi-Fi.

I ****ing hated Mario Kart for introducing Mii, and likewise I'd hate the Mii for doing the same for Super Smash Bros.

Oh, sorry.
i thought you wanted justifications, not moveset potential.

Don't worry, I HAVE MANY POTENTIALS!

He could used balanced versions of items. The way he uses them wouldn't be OP as if you always had an actual item.
Not to mention all the items are getting redesigns, so he could have the classic versions!
Theres not really much more to it, since it is such a big and general statement.

Here are some items and how Sandbag can use them:
[collapse=Sandbag's Wonderful Item Emporium!]
Home Run Bat - Smash attacks (obviously)
Target - Have one pop up, then shoot a projectile at it. It could hit an opponent while going to the target.
Bumper - Throws it. Basically throwing a bumper, except it keeps going until it goes off the screen. Would probably have a big recharge.
Party Ball - Rides it up towards the sky as a recovery.
SuperScoper/Other guns - pretty self-explanitory. Most likely a neutral-special.
LightSword - Again, self-explanitory. Works as some A-attacks or maybe a special.
Mine - Places it donwn. Kablloey.
Hammer - Maybe as some other smash attack.
[/collapse]

Also, I have the most amazing Final Smash!

[collapse=Beautiful Final Smash]
Home RUn Contest platfrom emerges out of ground. All players within a certain radius are caught and get pulled up on it. The players on it get pulled towards the center and can't move.
Sandbag then hops up on there, with a sort of evil-happy look in his eyes. He grabs the old Home-Run-Bat, 3! 2! 1! GO! and knocks them the hell outta there!
REVENGE AT ITS FINEST!
[/collapse]

I agree, the idea of Sandbag being playable is very idiotic. Who's idea was this anyway?
That would be my idiotic idea. :p

EDIT: So apparently, Japan can make a punching-bag a playable character in a game.
I present to you, "Gofer no Yabou Episode II"

It was an MSX game that is on the Japanese Wii (not WiiU Virtual Console)

On an unrelated note, assuming that Ganondorf gets a brand new moveset, do you think that Sakurai will feel the need to add in someone else to take the Heavy Falcon set?
I could see Black Shadow stepping in, as he would be the most appropriate character to be honest. While F-Zero has pretty much been dropped my Nintendo, I believe that Japanese fans wanted Black Shadow in a Smash game due to the F-Zero cartoon, which became infamous due to this scene:

So what do you say, should the Heavy Falcon moveset live on? If so who should take it?

How fitting.:p

And whilst we are at it, we haven't had another Impa vs Sheik debate. Let's have it!

....Nah, just kidding.
I'll bite.

Impa wishes she had half the coolness that Sheik has.

I was butthurt about WFT for like a full minute before I realized I was in love with her.

Yup, I'm willing to give credit where credit is due. WFT was a great choice.

Aww, come on! Sakurai chooses the characters you didn't know you wanted! Praise Him.
We should just be happy that he's making a game, after all! You're all just entitled! :troll:

Reading stuff like that makes my eyes bleed.

My argument about sandbag... (does there really need to be one) If they decide to add a smash character maybe they could pick one that has the ability to fight or let alone move, and one that isn't a sack of **** with eyes thrown on it. Anyway, I don't want them to add a smash character as none of the characters or enemies made for smash have been very unique at all...

Search Twilit Arawen on deviantart if you were wondering about source.

The sad thing is that that's probably all you'll see in matchmaking. Just Miis. I came to Smash Bros to duel with iconic Nintendo characters, not ****ty, generic wannabe avatars that can't even come close to replicating what you look like.

No matter how I look at it, I can't see Miis as anything but a waste of resources and a character slot.

You have Mona and jimmy T but no Captain Syrup. When will people understand that Wario Land is superior to WarioWare in every possible way

I see that the dislike of Miis has shown itself again...

You know, I must say that as a supporter of Miis, all of the dislike really gets to me. Not in a "I hate you for disagreeing with me" kind of way, but in more-so just not wanting to see so many of you so outraged and upset. Thus making me want them less.
I've previously gone on about how I don't think that Miis would be quite as infectious as they are in Mario Kart, but it's still very difficult to make generalizations about such a large audience. And I can understand why many think that the potential for online over-saturation outranks the gains that could be brought upon by Miis being playable and there not being over-saturation.
I suppose either way I'll be happy with what happens to Miis. If they're playable, then I'll be satisfied as I still would like to see them. And if they're not, then I'll be glad to see so many of you relieved.

How would you guys react if we got a Fire Emblem newcomer not named Chrom, Roy, or Robin?
Could we still get a veteran named Roy? :troll:

I understand disagreeing, but I don't like when people are flat-out angry with certain character selections. It's still a Nintendo character, right? So it fits SSB.

I remember being angry when certain people told me they would be angry with Meowth's inclusion. Like, why? That's a pretty well-known Nintendo character.

I finished your roster, dude(/man/guy). Have a look above. :)
It's beautiful!

Haha, I understand. Its quite clear that they are repping WarioWare instead of Wario Land, due to relevancy and popularity which upsets me greatly.

Wouldn't mind at all. Even though I used to be a Chrom supporter (not anymore), I've been very apprehensive against the likes of Roy, Ike, Chrom and Lucina in general because I realized Fire Emblem protagonists often times seem to be created using a template and thus makes none of them really stand out and overall makes them somewhat generic (Shots fired). Kind of why I somewhat support Avatar, as generic as that can be, they can do a lot with the moveset.

I see that the dislike of Miis has shown itself again...

Aw, I don't think you should want the character that you support deconfirmed just to make a large portion of the fanbase happy :(, but i see where you are coming from. For me, Mii's would only be great if you can fully customize their movesets. Since I find that to be somewhat impossible and unlikely, it just seems like a waste to me. Oversaturation is an issue, however, if matchmaking in Smash 4 is somewhat decent, then there could be different options for whether Miis can be played in certain matchmaking types or not. If that became so, then I wouldn't have a problem with Miis at all.

I'm sorry if I made you feel that way, while I don't personally like the Miis I do not mean to make you wish for their deconfirmation at your expense. These are characters you still want to see playable, so please don't let my (and the rest of our) personal thoughts keep you from wanting them.
