Roy and Ryu leaked... and they look pretty good... can't wait for them to be officially confirmed.

I wish Simon Belmont is playable in Smash along with Ryu... I know he will look amazing in the game... whipping enemies and using sub-weapons... whipping in all 8 directions like in the SNES game... stiff animations when walking and jumping like in the NES game.

It's really cool that another childhood favorite is in Smash... I remember getting the original Street Fighter II along with Super Castlevania IV and Super Mario World and the SNES for Christmas.

These were gotten by data-mining the patch that came a bit early in Japan.

So.... odds are we're probably getting them at E3. We continue our 3 character tradition. & "Fighter "

Ugh Roy, why the interest again?
He's nothing special in the slightest, he was in Fire Emblem 6, that's it.
Plenty of other units outshone him in that and he wasn't good in melee either

Ryu I could do without but he doesn't look out of place to be honest
People say he's gonna be a big clone but with a straight fire/chi ball a spinning attack and a powerful uppercut he reminds me more of

Roy was a heavily requested veteran. So that means people liked to play as him as he was. It should come as no surprise that he doesn't have too many changes.

Roy's interest is mainly due to his Melee appearance which was also his first appearance.
People liked playing as him so why not.

I'm quite satisfied with Roy, tbh. He's better than I expected - I was basically expecting a a HD Smash 3 Roy with balancing, but we got more than that.

Pac-Man makes a lot of sense as a character and is a universal icon though. Even Miyamoto wanted him.
Just to damage control, I like Snake and I wish he weren't cut. But his situation is (probably) different from Pac-Man.

Pac-Man was added because Namco Bandia was working on the game. Same with the items. I think if they weren't working on the next one, he wouldn't be in. Maga Man probably will though.

They keep putting files in the updates. Heck, maybe if they waited until the Lucas update then they wouldn't have had this problem. We live in an era where people data mine so how they keep doing this is beyond me. As an aside, I'm gonna try not to watch the videos and ignore what I can. Will be hard, but then there will at least be some surprise tomorrow.

Honestly, I think it's just a case of people becoming attached to the design of the character. Also, there has to be more to the Smash Direct that Sakurai isn't telling us about; an entire Direct just to reveal two characters and some stages is not what Sakurai does with Smash Directs.

Nintendo and Sakurai deliberately included those files in the patch so that we wouldn't be expecting the announcement of a different character (or ballot characters) during tomorrows Smash presentation.....and then Ryu and Roy will be announced officially in the Digital Event on the 16th. (and possibly released directly after the event)

I agree that it was known that it'd get leaked.
The question is what could Sakurai possibly have as a plan to pull the rug from under us between the direct tomorrow and E3 later this week.

I dont know if ill watch the direct, now ANY leaked character makes me furious, what will we learn from the direct? not much, I knew they were coming but I wanted to see the trailer, I had absolutely ZERO hype for shulks trailer, and Bowser Jrs, well im just gonna go on mynintendonews to see the roundup, no hype(actually I hate when everyone says HYPE

They'll likely wait until the official announcement(so, probably by tomorrow) before making a character section for them like they have with the previous leaks.

I don't really feel anything about it now. I'm not a street fighter fan so Ryu being in smash is little more than a "Oh I know him from somewhere" kind of thing. I'm sure he'll be fun to play as though.

Roy still kind of annoys me but hey, it's happening now so all I can do is shrug my shoulders and congratulate the fans.

As all 3 are being RELEASED the week of E3 with probability at this point, I'm counting it.

It's more likely to consider it as THAT than to expect to see Wolf happen to complete a trinity.

It's for the point of saying the tradition is kept more than anything.

Wait a tic. Roy would likely be similar to his Melee counterpart. Marth's playstyle completely changed to a more ground oriented playstyle here. Would Roy suffer the same?

Roy most likely will have gained a bit of weight and power at the cost of speed. I don't think his aerial game will have suffered as hard as Marth's but still worse than it was in Melee.

So DLC character packs are basically confirmed. I mean, we're getting Lucas tomorrow and probably Roy and Ryu.
I'm definitely going to play them all, especially Lucas and Ryu.
