I'm a mixed bag on DHD. I didn't really want him, I'd have preferred Lip overall to represent the Puzzle League series (a frickin' awesome Puzzle franchise). But I can understand the appeal. My family had the original Duck Hunt and we played it. It was a decent game.

Only silly people hate DHD. He was a solid pick, there are plenty of other things to hate on.
Hate as in the torture he brought upon us in the Duck Hunt game, but that also works too... :)

Also, I have seen the unholy monstrosity IGN has let occurred by putting a section on the wiki page saying to give one another the codes for the demo if they do not want to use it. The comments section over there is on fire... I am scared to ask about this kind of thread now...

Omg, have you tried Villager?
Yes! My favorite character! He has a one hit KO move! . . . But it requires two people. Villager can pick up a cut tree and it destroys anyone it makes contact with. My friends are also enjoying Villager and we've had free for all Villager battles. Very fun character!

The dog was my loyal companion. How could I ever hate him? He assisted in the murder of over 500 ducks.

The OHKO involving the bowling ball? And can you use the axe attack freely for the duration the tree is up before withering away? Picking up the cut tree sounds like it could be as devastating or more than a pocketed bowling ball.

It's more devastating. The bowling ball can ohko but only if it's fully charged. The tree does it naturally, no pun intended.

Can you pick up your own tree after its chopped down? (probs not it would be too good.)
No, it doesn't appear so. You can, however, pick up a tree if it's reflected into you via Mario Cape. I'm sure that applies to other reflectors. It appears that Villager will be an insane doubles partner with anybody who can reflect.

Which, with move customization, is probably a large portion of the cast.

EDIT: By "Pick up" I mean use Villager's Pocket. If the tree connects with an opponent, it drops a small log that can then be picked up and thrown like a Mr. Saturn.

Should of kept the pun! Ya, I saw the bowling ball trick in M2K's stream. They specified how it had to be charged in order to instantly kill the opposing player. I also saw them pocket water from Villager's spout and use it as a miniature version of the F.L.U.D.D. move. The character looks magical out there. It really does. All I'm waiting for now is for one of DHD's gunmen to be pocketed.

No one has seen a Bandana Dee trophy anywhere?

Just checking in again.

the stump? what good would that do..
To clarify, it's not the whole stump of the tree, rather a small log. It's about the height of the Villager's torso, and about a third of the diameter. It's quite small, more like how in Brawl you could throw Samus's suit parts when playing ZSS.

Not that I'm aware of yet.

Yeah, honestly, Isaac is a huge contender and there's no reason to cut AT's except to make them playable. Barbara and Jill? Potentially justified, as they are very obscure (even though more obscure AT's were added). Isaac and Ray? Not really. Especially Isaac, since he's from a handheld exclusive franchise.

Barbara could even be justified to be Wii U exclusive; she was unlocked via music in Brawl. No unlockable music in Smash 3DS.

I'm not counting on anything, but as I've stated elsewhere, Isaac makes me very suspicious.

So Isaac isn't even an Assist trophy?! wow.
Makes him a prime candidate for DLC if you ask me, because it's essentially confirmed at this point.

Also, I haven't seen anyone mention this:

Ganondorf can finally use his sword! (even though it's just cosmetic)
but we still need a new moveset
At least it's the thought that counts

Saki is an assist trophy so he is toast for sure. DLC wont fix that.
Oh, I thought he was referring to the fact that Saki wasn't an assist trophy or something.

It's not cosmetic. It deals extra damage at the tip.

Apparently, no one's found a trophy for 2/3 of the big three, Ice Climbers, or Lucas.

So, I'm getting acclimated to Super Smash Bros. 4 (3DS)'s presumed "final" roster, barring downloadable content (DLC) or other unforeseen quirks.. I had so much hope for the "Final 5" only to be left in despair..

Wow; just noticed that the Ridley SSB4 support thread got locked... @_@ Ughh...why did I wait so long to post in there; not even 1 post of mine to be cemented in that monumental 1928-page colossus/work of art? <3 (well, at least the beginning posts and the current last post are..?) And I was adamantly pushing for Ridley's inclusion, too... sigh.

Alongside Ridley, the omissions of Mewtwo (who, despite the apparent 2012 finalization of the SSB4 roster, seemingly had a lot going for him, like finally getting a signature move in the form of Psystrike/Psycho Streak, another movie role, and 2 "Mega Evolutions", both of which now have un-surpassed Base Stat Totals), King K. Rool (he really should've been in the series by now), and Isaac (the existence of a fourth game in his series is uncertain, unfortunately) are just frustrating.... Super Smash Bros. 4 is quite something to behold...the pair of games single-handedly manages to (kind of) restore hope to previously-cut characters, actually made "Mario vs. Sonic vs. Megaman vs. Pac-man" possible, makes Universes decrease in total number of playable characters, and (until further notice) removes entire Universes from the series. >_>

On the plus side, despite the crushing cuts that have been made so far (primarily with Mewtwo and Snake), I am really glad that we're fortunate to have so many SSB4 newcomers with exciting playstyles!

As for Super Smash Bros. 4, I'll have to remain optimistic for "3DS and Wii U connectivity" unlocks and/or DLC characters (as much as I loathe the concept of DLC), although it sucks that notable characters like Mewtwo have to resort to being pinned on things like that instead of originally being included in the game outright.. :/

The big 3 of cuts are Mewtwo, Wolf and Ice Climbers. The actual big 3 are Mewtwo, Ridley, and K Rool
But with K. Rool being out along with Dixie.

The Big Three is now Ridley, Isaac, and MewTwo.

However now the big three newcomers, barring MewTwo.

Are Ridley, Isaac, Bandana Dee.

So I believe the FINAL 4! Will be Ridley, Bandana Dee, Isaac, and MewTwo.

Id say it ups his chances as DLC, if there is any. (poor saki :( )
I hope so, especially with Lucas too. It seems to me like they want to make as if Mother 3 had never existed, like seriously we haven't seen trophies, music or anything related to it. Not to mention Lucas cut and no Mother 3 stage (wich is the only handheld game in the series).

If Camelot is credited in the credits, and that all of the ATs have been unlocked with no Isaac aroun, he's probably most likely just a trophy, despite what you guys say about his popularity.

Um, I'm assuming you're referring to the over-abundance of "counter-attack" Down Specials (made in the vein of Marth's Counter)..? XD If so...yeah, those are a bit much (yeegh; I just realized that 75% of the Fire Emblem SSB4 characters (Marth, Ike, Lucina) have Counter as a Down Special, and that rises to 80% if you include Roy). >_> But at least they make sense (for Greninja and Shulk, at least).

I'm just trying to remain optimistic somehow amidst all of these depressing cuts and omissions.. This Reddit post was helpful in appreciating the newcomers we do get, though.

I just don't get it. Brawl gave Mother 3 a ton of love, with Porky as a boss, New Pork City, the Pig King Statue, and of course, Lucas.

Hold your horses. There are like 600+ trophies right?

Those guys may still have trophies.
