I think the leak roster characters are all great.

However, If that is it, then I'm worried.

That Donkey Kong, Metroid, and Zelda did not get a single new member? I don't mean all of them, but at least one of those series should have gotten one.

That's the only thing that bothers me. As long as they get something, it's good.

Though I question the point of unlockable characters when there are Amiibos of them released the next few months.

Then again, I am beginning to question the motive behind secret characters in general.

Secret characters are unpopular characters that a minority of people like, so they aren't revealed until after you buy the game so you won't get so mad you won't buy it for some odd reason.

Duck hunt dog is the saving grace if the roster in my opinion, shulk was a shoe-in, bowser he is growing in me, but duck hunt dog made me so happy because he'll most likely play like banjo and kazooie, my most wanted character ever.

I do agree to an extent, Duck Hunt Dog was similar Lucina. They are both some of my favorite characters in Nintendo history; however, I failed to give them the benefit of the doubt. To be fair, I did say Lucina was more likely than Chrom on multiple occasions, but even then, I did not believe we would get her. So in that way, Duck Hunt Dog is one of my favorite aspects of the leak. I failed to support a retro because Duck Hunt and Balloon Fighter were the only characters that I even wanted from the category. He is not a saving grace though, I do not believe that this roster needs saving. If there were any character that saved it, it would have been Dark Pit.

That has never been established as a rule. Any character can be a secret character.

We don't know if he's unlockable or not, and we might not even know the full roster. That 'starting roster' might not even be the starting roster, because it was never confirmed.

Y'know. Here's the thing when it came to the secret newcomers with each passing game. My experiences.

N64 (age 3-4) I fumbled around to discover them by accident

: I dunno who these guys are but they look really cool!
: Oh my god it's so cool that they're here, man they're fun to play!

Melee (age 6-7, yeah, Melee really came out that quickly after 64) The same as N64 except for Mewtwo because my dad said he heard how to unlock the final newcomer at his work (Best Buy at the time)

: This guy's dumb. Why's he here? They're the same dude as !
: He's dumb. He's like a stupid shorter who can't kill!
: SO CUTE
: This guy's weird but really cool.
: RAAAGGGGHHH This dude's uber strong and awesome. So cool he's in!

Brawl (age 12) I figured out about the VS match thing and just grinded them all out the first few hours I had with the game.

Just to say, I find it weird that 6 of the 18 newcomers of Brawl were unlockable.

Smash 4 newcomer reactions as they have been revealed officially (age 17-18) as we don't know whose unlockable.

I hope there's more, but I'm starting to think otherwise. We don't have too much longer though, the Japanese release is approaching and we'll know the full roster relatively soon.

I am one of those people who thought we'd see a DK newcomer. I thought we'd see Dixie though, mainly because I mostly supported King K. Rool and I knew I wouldn't get what I wanted.

... But nothing is confirmed so we'll see. And be disappointed.
