Considering how humble Sakurai is, obviously not!Anyone think Dark Pit will get his own trailer?
So are you saying Duck Hunt Dog is confirmed too by that?As if we needed any more confirmation that the leak is real. :V
As far as I'm concerned? Yes.So are you saying Duck Hunt Dog is confirmed too by that?
I'd rather complain about that cheezy counter Shulk has. It looks just as easy to use as Marth's counter is. The knock-back scaling seems to be ridiculous too. Also, inb4complaintsabouttoomanycounters.
Partially? ;3Anyone else feel Shulk in SSB4 is partially advertising for Xenoblade Chronicles to come out eventually on WiiU and DS?
>Nintendo Direct regarding to the 3DS"Nothing will be reavealed in tomorrow's 3DS direct"
Yeah, well...
andare insulted by thatI'd rather complain about that cheezy counter Shulk has. It looks just as easy to use as Marth's counter is. The knock-back scaling seems to be ridiculous too.
EDIT: Taking a second glimpse of his counter in action, you can press it early & it still has invincible frames out for a good moment of time to have a regular counter strike. Timing the attack more perfectly puts out a stronger knock-back counter slash strike. Shulk seems to have the best counter in the game now. Move aside Marth Ike Greninja Palutena & Lucina.
I was just looking at some characters on the SmashBros site, & forgot Toad was Peach's returning counter since Melee. Lucario Double Team is the one I should be ashamed of forgetting the most since I main him in Brawl & will main him in Smash 4 & 5. If AuraBoost% works even better than how it did in Brawl, I will take back what I said about Shulk having the most strongest counter move in the game. Because Full AuraBoost% Double Team will hit like an Aura truck.andare insulted by that
Edit: Ignore.Someone analyze Metal Face's shadow.
We need to know if he's playable.
Bowser clone, calling it.Someone analyze Metal Face's shadow.

Nintendo probably would not want to fragment the DS playerbase so you can't be IC or VS IC if you don't have a new 3DS. That means anyone who plays as IC might have longer wait times to find a match online.Hey, guys.... I'm a huge Shulk fan, but I think we are all over looking the biggest Smash news to come out of that direct.
WE FINALLY HAVE A VERSION OF THE 3DS THAT HAS THE HORSEPOWER TO HANDLE ICE CLIMBERS!
What would you think of DLC for Ice Climbers for Wii U and 3DS that only worked on the new model?
Probably going to end up buying it (I can't see it staying Japan exclusive) for the C-stick in Smash and because, apparently, Xenoblade will be exclusive to it.
I think it'd be great. The 3DS LL's are coming out October, so it's gonna be a little while until then. Yet this may force consumers to buy Nintendo's 3DS LL just to play Ice CLimbers via DLC? Idk about that. . . that's another risky marketing move.Hey, guys.... I'm a huge Shulk fan, but I think we are all over looking the biggest Smash news to come out of that direct.

Even if you don't care for the character, would you really say the trailer is worse then Pacman's or Wii Fit Trainer's?I have said this for a while, but I am convinced Sakurai knew that there would be a leak. It is pretty insane to think he would not plan on a leak, actually.
Well, he changed his entire marketing plan this time, hell, the game, around spoilers this time, with SSE cut scenes completely overthrown for movies to introduce characters being a major ploy.
He has had the market strategy planned out from the beginning here, when it comes to reveals (slated many times to have had them completely decided on from day when).
Call me crazy, but, if he knew the likelihood of a leak, and the above facts being true, he would have had to have accounted for how to plan it in.
That said, he put no time into a Shulk reveal, because we all knew that Shulk would be in, and this (just like the two PotD's we saw earlier this week) were just confirming the leak (until he deviates from it perhaps). It is clear this video was the worst.
Here's where you stop making sense. It is clear this video was the worst.
Are you serious? Pacman's trailer was hype & feels on a stick with sweet nostalgia sauce. What exactly was bad about it?Even if you don't care for the character, would you really say the trailer is worse then Pacman's or Wii Fit Trainer's?
I'm not sure what you are saying. Here's where you stop making sense.
Why is it the worst? 'cause Sakurai planned ahead?
I do like the character.Even if you don't care for the character, would you really say the trailer is worse then Pacman's or Wii Fit Trainer's?
He say's it's Shulk time! Metal Face has an awesome cameo at the end. He has a vision sequence against Link and Marth that closely mirrors his first vision sequence against the mechons in colony 9!I do like the character.
From a strictly analytical standpoint, it is the worst: it builds zero hype.
It literally just shoves Shulk in our faces, and then introduces what he can do with gameplay.
There is no buildup, no multiple character reveal, no musical tension.
I WILL clarify that of course, I do not speak Japanese, and that may play a factor, because I may not understand the story. Yet, Shulk barely spoke in the video, so I doubt I missed some extreme amount of story.
As for why it was worse than Wii Fit or Pacman? Are you kidding?
Pacman was a huge fan service- it built up the big four mascots, and literally played on that tension in a brilliant harmony.
Wii Fit billed the tension of expectation by faking us out with expectation.
There is no comparison.
This video literally, unless Im missing some huge component by 2 lines of text, just said, "hey guys here is shulk."
On a strictly marketing and storytelling perspective, this video was an absolute failure. I speak as objectively as this can be done. I'm always happy to get a new character from a new franchise
oh, so you only saw the japanese version of the trailer?
I'm not sure what you are saying.
My claim is that he DID plan ahead. He planned on a leak, perhaps even leaked this himself, but absolutely planned on a leak being a huge likelihood in this game, and used it in his marketing strategy for the game. Turning a huge weakness into a huge strength.
How does the Shulk video showcase planning ahead, if not in the form that he planned on a leak?
I do like the character.
