I did have one trailer thought in my head lately...

The trailer starts at Pyrosphere, where Samus faces off against two other entities. They turn out to be Meta Knight and Ness, but during the fight, a silhouette flies by and tries to attack Samus. Samus dodges, but the entity flies back and touches ground. The entity turns out to be Ridley himself, and then some game play footage of him gets shown.

After the game play footage, Ridley prepares to attack Samus, Meta Knight, and Ness, but before he does anything, another silhouette flies over the battlefield. The silhouette then reveals itself to be the Other M incarnation of Ridley, and he begins attacking the four fighters. Everyone begins to fight back, but then the scene transitions to some game play footage of the Other M Ridley battle at Pyrosphere.

The Super Smash Bros. logo then appears, followed by a brief scene of Other M Ridley collapsing, while Ridley, Samus, Meta Knight, and Ness are catching their breath.

As far as we are aware, that is. Honestly, her presumed Final Smash in addition to a different taunt along with her WEBSITE appearance indicate that she is her own character. Perhaps she is unique, maybe she is only select-able after clicking Marth or something. But she is not an alternate costume in the traditional sense.

Someone in the thread about today's reveal on the general board mentioned perhaps she could act like Kuma/Panda in Tekken where they share the same space, but both are separate characters technically.

So we see Captain Falcon in a same sort of fashion than Mr. Game & Watch, yet only the former gets added to the official site. Surely Falcon had a bigger role in the trailer he was in... but isn't it a bit odd?

Game and Watch was more comparable to Dark Pit; a cameo after the trailer. Captain Falcon was more like Charizard, a veteran with a role in the trailer. I do find it odd, but there is a subtle difference.

Why would you add Lucas citing the Gematsu leak's attenuated credibility, yet still retain Chorus Kids on the roster? That seem counter-intuitive.

I don't think the leak is 100% false. Sneaky Spirits make me believe we will get a RH rep of some sort, I just left Chorus Kids on there.

Take out Chibi with Krystal and this is great.

I said that Chibi is a flexible spot in my post, so your wish is already granted.

And yet, like mentioned beforehand, the coloring spectrum is all off. She's the only character whose tagline does not match her at all as far as colors go.

Perhaps, but Lucina's page classifies her as a newcomer, so I wouldn't really let the way that the trailer treated her determine if she's a separate entity or not.

Unfortunately, you cannot change normals, only specials. However, you are correct, it does, to some extent, make clones less clone-y.

This seems to indicate we are due for 2 Skyward Sword reps, and 1 Metroid rep (Ridley).
Now, I know this doesn't confirm anything, and patterns don't hold any weight with Sakurai, but let's have some fun with this. AGAIN, I brought this up for FUN, not because this actually means anything.

Probably because it was unclear whether or not she would actually be joining the fight at that point in time. The game play footage removed those doubts in the end.

This is how I interpreted. The opening of that trailer was intentionally confusing. First, we see Chrom (everyone goes "there it is") then we see Lucina ("whaaaa?") and she gets her own banner with a ?! that matches most viewers' states of mind and also implies there is more to the story. Fight, fight, fight, Lucina gets her face handed to her and theeeen... Robin shows up as the real newcomer of the trailer. Then, it is shown Lucina really does join the fight. I don't think it's alluding to some big mystery or special circumstance outside of the trailer. But who knows? I certainly don't.

I'm very excited to see this, after Sal confirmed that Shulk was going to be revealed today, I didn't really have too much excitement. Now, I'm very happy with what happened today.

First, Lucina was confirmed as a character, who was my favorite of the three main characters. Next, we got Robin, a character many thought wouldn't be in the cards due to Chrom being seen as so likely. Plus, it opened the door for many characters not on the leak since Chrom was a character that was among those listed, and it gives us a better understanding of the circumstances behind it (that is, it being older information), so it'll be really interesting to see what happens from here on out.

As for Lucina, I'm going to throw my lot in with her being a clone separate of Marth. Unlike the other alts, she was treated with more fanfare and had a major part in the trailer. She was also given some different animations (such as her mask pose) as well as her segment on the main site listing her as a newcomer. I think that points to her being more likely to be a new character, though it's definitely not impossible that she's an alt.

I know everyone thinks this debunks the leak, and I'm on that middle of the road team, but consider how easy would be (theoretically) to just retexture chroms skeleton and make lucina the character chroms would have been, guys here do it casually and it takes a few weeks, the fact that chroms texture exitsts as part of a something (FS) makes me think they just reused his texture for something else and imported Lucinas. This gives me hope that chrom was either a clone to start (so people can stop being upset about that) or lucina is as unique as chrom would have been.

I agree, this does not objectively refute the leak, it just confirms what we have been spouting for months. The leaker has out-dated information and he has not gotten any new information since prior to roster finalization.

Which, pretty much explains Rosalina in that case. She was added after the initial draft.

I knew right away the trophy quizzes were hints, and thought most were obvious, although I didn't expect the FE turnout we received. At this point with Zelda I really hope its not Girahimn, Impa makes so much more sense, especially in the Skyward Sword design with some Hyrule Warriors type moves. Although I'd also be extremely happy if Groose is let loose.

Oh that's what I tough.

I can't even tell you how happy I am now and that's not even because of the characters revealed. Let me tell you what I expect now:

- better support for most characters

The fact that there's 4 fe rep while 3 would have been considered "ok" (I assume btw but If I'm wrong, just tell me) means that Sakurai can add characters without limiting himself to the amount of rep. For me, it means, again, better general repping and better possibility. This might helps chances of other characters a bit for instance, my most wanted. The reasons I said that Paper Mario only had "some" chances (sround 20%) is because of the amount of rep. A fifth wasn't "needed" so of course a sixth would be less. But bcause of how Sakurai seems to not add based on rep but on the character itself and what's interesting about him, it makes the possibility of more rep more believable. That's why I think he passed from "some" to "decent" which is basically average (around 40-50%). That's because it still has to do with Sakurai but at least we know he could even dare to do such a thing.

I told one case but I'm sure it helps a lot of others. Especially if the character isn't considered "needed" or would be for some "too much". What matters is if it worth the addition.

And that leak, omg it just took a huge hit and honestly, so unexpected. It's now 100% confirmed to be partially true no matter what happens but the whole leak is deconfirmed to be real at 100%. What is really bad for it is that we got false informations 2 times and one of them could've been only because he literally guessed. Sakurai couldn't change the video as the youtube link was already available. The info on shulk was known the day before so Sakurai couldn't even try to change the video before because he couldn't know that the leaker said that.

HOWEVER, it does NOT means chorus men can't happen. Shulk doesn't have changes for chances but my sympathy for his thread. Because the leak is partially true, chorus men can go either way. It's not clear why some info like wft could have been real and others false so I have no idea if chorus men will happen. What I know for sure is that their chances dropped a lot but there's still that rep in smash run that back their case and is trusted. So, mostly in the dark but the smash run enemy is his best hope now.

And finally, that was expected but it's 100% confirmed now: sal leak even if he get the rest real won't change the fact that they weren't the final newcomers. 3 cases proves this now I have no reasons to believe the opposite now. It means again more support and less worries because now, it's kinda hard to tell the final roster at this point now that anyone can get in despite of the leak. Even if shulk and chrom are confirmed real, more can happens. I expected this because on how I saw Ridley but that is another story.

Now, you get why I think this 3 minutes will bring more positivity here and on most of the support threads now. It really encourages me more for my supports efforts so it's good thing.
Maybe I'll be more active in this thread now...

Thats how I see it. Most likely outdated information, but at this point, there's really only 2 characters left to confirm/deconfirm. Shulk would have been scrapped completely if Sakurai changed his mind (why would they include a minor character from Xenoblade over Shulk?) So that really just leaves Chorus Kids. Based on the picture of the Rhythm Heaven NPC in Smash Run, a RH character is likely. Will it be Chorus Kids? Could be. I just see others like Marshall, Wrestler, etc. to be likelier now.

I can't wait to see more about Lucina. All the arguments about her is crazy. Sakurai better explain fast. Either way, I don't mind her. And I love the magic moveset of Robin, and I will definitely use her as my main. And Falcon's back, which is great to see. I'm hoping for Ness or Lucas, still. Where are they?!

Lol dood you don't get what retextures are do you, you put it a texture over a skeleton, like the wireframes, and tweak size from there. It's really not difficult, and I it's anything like brawl and melee, they all use one of three or four bases (humanoid, Kirby, and giant, with male and female skeleton move sets interchangeable)

I still think a Rhythm Heaven rep is still quite likely, especially with the Smash Run enemy, but doesn't need to be Marshall/ Chorus Men. It could be Toot Toots for all we know, but I currently think Rhythm Wrestler is currently the best pick.
