They will most likely put characters into one pack, there are 16 courses in MK8 for a very low price, Smash Bros will likely act the same.

I don't know, Sakurai is literally between life and death now, and the team probably is too, they are tired as ****.

I can only see Wolf, Lucas and the Ice Climbers returning, I don't see newcomers to be likely, and I don't know if they will necessarily make characters into pack, Mewtwo is being released alone so Wolf can too.

not sure how I feel about Sakurai possibly not working on Smash Bros anymore, I just want Wolf as DLC for this iteration of Smash Bros.

Time constraints or no time constraints in this day and age DLC is a thing that a real option. i feel like sakurai not including any DLC for smash beyond mewtwo is a huge wasted opportunity. I'm speaking for myself, but i assume Nintendo fans would gladly pay extra money for extra content like Characters. mostly because we know nintendo gives us finished games in the first place. if the content was cut purposely to be sold as DLC that's a different story but i think we can safely assume mewtwo wasn't such a thing. Either way, i can and will pay for any and all DLC characters for smash.

I'd gladly pay to have Wolf back. Besides if Sakurai doesn't bring back Wolf when he clearly has the option to, he'll be just a flat out jerk, If brawl had DLC it would be like him maybe bringing back Dr. Mario as DLC,but not Mewtwo. He can make fans happy by bringing back they're favorite characters as DLC. If he doesn't do it, then **** him and get someone in there who will do veteran DLC for this iteration of Smash Bros. Everyone wants WOLF back now, so DO IT NINTENDO AND SAKURAI!

I won't rest until Wolf is confirmed to be playable in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS. I'm insane without him.

If you're going to do DLC, do it right. Just doing Mewtwo and no one else, isn't doing DLC right. The bare minimum of Smash bros DLC should just be adding Mewtwo and Wolf and no one else. That's the bare minimal of acceptable Smash Bros DLC.

(A cool thing they could do on Orbital Gate when Wolf comes back is have a codec conversation between him and Fox, while Wolf is fighting on the stage.)

The supposed "bias" with the Kid Icarus content isn't bias, but pragmatism and convenience.

Conveniently, they had a load of assets from KIU ready to use for Smash and some ideas conceived during development just happened to work well in Smash. Sakurai was pragmatic in adding all those KIU enemies to Smash Run as a quick way to boost the quantity of enemies in the mode and increase the variety.

Same goes for trophies. Check the 3DS trophies for the Kid Icarus series and then check how many Kid Icarus trophies are on the Wii U version. You will see a huge difference. It has a number of trophies comparable to other minor series.

And if Wolf is indeed Sakurai's favorite Star Fox character, the bias argument goes down the gutter, because if he was biased, he would have been included and given higher priority in development.

The best hope is for DLC. Sakurai is open to the idea of more DLC, depending on how Mewtwo DLC fares. Sakurai could take a break after Mewtwo's release. Once results of Mewtwo DLC's sales are revealed, he can return for a little while to add some more extra content to the games and finally move on into a new project.

Seriously, there is no arguments that can be used against Wolf. He isn't a clone, a semi-clone or any others clonish related things. I can assure you that if Falco didn't exist, Wolf would have NEVER been called a clone. He was only called a clone because a lot of people complained about the triple Landmasters thing, to the point of literally becoming a meme: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/landmaster which stain Wolf status immensely. Therefore cause of this, people saw the Starfox roster as a "trinity of derivatives" and of course adding the Krystal fans who whined a lot about Wolf "taking" the "more deserved" place of Krystal. (I know that not all the Krystal fans are like this, but back then I remember the ****storm against Wolf made by Krystal fans.)

So yeah, adding all of this Wolf real character status got misspelled all around the globe and it's hard to redeem Wolf true status to the community.

Also, as much as I love Lucas, I hope him and Wolf aren't packed together, simply due to the fact that if there pack together people will ****storm about it saying "they bring clones over new characters". When Wolf is packed with Lucas, the majority always labelled them as derivatives others than their own characters, while when Wolf is standalone is considered as his own character. Lucas was between a semi-clone and his own character, he only shared 5 moves with Ness which is nothing of a big deal, he stills a great character who represent one of the greatest game of all time and the dark side of Nintendo. Sadly people still compare him to true semi-clones like Falco, Ganondorf and Luigi while he's most diversified than them. Also the fact that Mewtwo is stand-alone really kinda give him importance, and I want that Wolf and Lucas also get that importance by being stand-alone each to make all things equal. Because I already know that if Wolf and Lucas are packed together for the next DLC it will more sounds like "the two derivatives from Brawl are back" while stand-alone will more sounds like "Starfox's most badass character is back in full HD glory and ready to massacre some new targets". See what I mean ? I want all of them to be treated equally, that all of them get the full light spot, to really show that every characters is important.

I'll apologize when Wolf's confirmed to be playable in this iteration of smash.

As much as I liked Wolf in Brawl, I think it's a good thing that Sakurai swallowed his pride. He did the same in Melee when he ditched Dedede in favor of 6 clone characters, none of them from Kirby. It shows Sakurai's professionalism.

I wouldn't exactly call cutting Wolf swallowing his pride, not including Dedede yes. Wolf is merely Sakurai's favorite Star Fox character, he didn't create him. If he had truly swallowed his pride, Meta Knight may have been cut in favor of other characters or Dark Pit would have just stayed an alt. Sakurai created those characters, Miyamoto (I'm pretty sure) created Wolf.

Essentially what I'm saying is that it's an interesting concept, but it would definitely demonstrate the boards playing favourites, and that's not fair to all of the other fanbases that have just as much of a right to exposure and awareness. Either everybody is equal or nobody is equal.

That's subjective, though. I would personally rather see newcomers over veterans, but that's just my own opinion, and I'm quite content to allow others to accept it or reject it as they feel inclined.

Why the other cuts don't bother me as much as those two:
- Snake: Always feared he would be cut given his third party status. Sonic returning was actually a surprise to me. Of course, we also have Mega Man and Pac-Man. We had two third party franchises in Brawl and now we have 3.
- Ice Climbers: Info and rumors about difficulty on implementing them on the 3DS existed and I braced for the worst. Plus, Duck Hunt Duo is a retro character, so there's no reduction on the number of retros: 3 in Brawl, 3 in Smash 4.
- Ivysaur, Squirtle: I thought their chances lowered with transformations being gone and Charizard going solo. Plus, Greninja and Mewtwo DLC kind of fill the void left by them, as we have 6 different playable Pokémon in both Brawl and this game.

Wolf and Lucas don't have any "replacement" (figuratively speaking). There were no new Star Fox and EarthBound characters, so those cuts feel a lot harsher. It's back to how things were in Melee for those series, so it feels like a downgrade.

This is not to diss on the other veterans. The more, the merrier, after all. I just feel that Wolf and Lucas should be the top characters for DLC after Mewtwo.

On Wolf's Final Smash, how would you feel if he got a new Final Smash involving the Wolfen, but was cloned from Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash? (Kind of like what happens with Zelda and Dark Pit, as they use different weapons, but the attacks are functionally the same.)

For Ice Climbers, they could probably work on the New 3DS. It could be a unique release where you get them for free if you bought a New 3DS which gets them on the Wii U version too.
