I actually prefer CoD going back to its WW2 roots.i <3 CoD
though it's WW2 again, it still sounds great.
Buh? During the Gametrailers interview they say that the waves go on forever, until you die No mention of a Zombie Hitler. Zombie Hitler would also require them to further censor the game in countries such as Germany.Final Wave(if any one gets there) of Zombie Co-Op is Zombie Hitler!
Its a little underground joke that i first saw on the CoD IGN boards. Some one joked that if some one makes it to the last wave you get zombie Hitler. Of course no ones ever going to make it to the last wave, seeing its endless, plus any one in their right mind gotta stop right?Buh? I still have no intentions of buying the game, but I definitely want to try out this Zombie Nazi mode. It's just too funny.
seriously? MP3 controls?? aw man this game is even more awesome now!!!!Its a little underground joke that i first saw on the CoD IGN boards. Some one joked that if some one makes it to the last wave you get zombie Hitler. @Mr. Rogu: IGN reported its Metroid Prime 3 controls slapped on. Thats good. Not sure if they mentioned customization. I just can't wait to make Crack shots on multiplayer! I mean i made tons of them on Heroes 2. And by crack shots i mean you looking one way then you kill a guy at the corner of your screen.
Also isn't L4D a more offensive approach? Because Zombie Co-Op is more of a Defensive with buying of defenses and weapons while L4D is just running and gunning zombies, or thats what i got from the game info.
What do you expect from Treyarch? To me...the beta feels like COD 3 trying to be COD 4 and not doing it well =/
Hmm so even non wii gamers at IGN were interested, that's a good sign.As a testament to this, we even had non-Wii gamers (guys that don't care about the system at all, instead sticking to PS3/360) in our office stop and check out the Wii version, commenting not only on its visuals, but also on how fun it looked, and how brutal it was in some instances. You don't get dismemberment like on 360, but you will see random blasts of "meat chunks" and you shoot enemies, so while the model isn't actually breaking apart, you get a sense of total brutality along the way.
Yoda mode seems kidna nice. You don't need to pester a friend if he wants to play then restart the **** level all over again. The drop-in, drop-out cooperative play (we call it "Yoda Mode," Activision playfully refers to it as "Girlfriend Mode") has a second player essentially pulling a "Jedi Master with guns" experience, as a second cursor can be called in, ammo for player 2 (as well as new guns) can be picked up, and then it's all about blasting away to help your buddy through the campaign as if you're riding on their back. It isn't essential, and you won't get the same feeling as playing through co-op on other systems - this is Wii's only co-op mode - but it is a nice little "Why not?" kind of mode. Hell, in a game with IR control, you might as well make a light gun 2nd player mode. While we see no way for the Wii's tech to handle for (or even two) screens split with the COD4 core tech and as much on-screen action happening as there is in this game, there's at least a cool way for an ambitious buddy to pick up a controller and just jump on in.
Thank you for this review, i dont know why people arent paying that much attention to that game. I am a starved hardcore gamer with only a Wii out of this generation, this game is like a godsend for someone like me. I still have faith in th wii!Now before hand sorry for the double post but this is going to be long and I don't think the previous post should get a edit.
Call of Duty is back for another Tour of Duty on the Wii. After being MIA in the War in the Middle East and Russia during Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 5 is once again on the white box. The main attraction of this version is that the Call of duty 4 engine is being run on the Wii and so far has the best graphics on the system. Now enough small talk. IS the game worth getting especially the Wii version?
Graphics: The Wii version is being run on a Modified Call of Duty 4 Engine. That said the graphics are possibly the top on the Wii so far. That said there are some differences on the Wii and the 360's,PS3's and PC's version. Less Glare is notable. When comparing the Intro of Vendetta(The sniper mission of World at War: i'll get more into that later) the Other Versions of the game look more brighter and have more shine. That said that doesn't mean the Wii version intro sucks. The Wii version is more easy on the eyes and seem more life like. Funny thing is when Loading up a Multiplayer
Game Play: The Wii version is obviously unique thanks to the WiiMote. Controls are customizable but not fully. The angles of the Wii mote can make your gun are also impressive as it creates some interesting Shotgun duels. They are comparable to Metroid Primes 3 controls on my current set up.
The Game it self: There are some interesting differences between the Wii and the different versions. For starters the Mission Vendetta, has attack dogs while the Wii is missing them. Problem is i haven't finished the campaign yet...
Multi player: Multiplayer is a big part of this game for sure. But is it good? Yes it is. Virtually Lag free. Only Problems were on my end. Now if any one played Heroes 2, most memerable thing about Multiplayer games was not the 32 players in 1 game, but the player models looked like they had a broken hip. The Models are proper and Ragdolls(yes Ragdolls) do not instantly disappear. I passed 2 of my dead bodies in 3 minutes apart. There are no lobbies and matches are only 10 minutes and max score is 75 kills or 750 points. Max players are 8 in total.
Overall: Over all World at war is enjoyable and the Multi is just plain addicting. That said it's not perfect and they still have room for improvement. World at War is a great Call of duty game and infinity ward has some serious shoes to fill in now.
Presentation: 8.2
Into movies are nice and show actually hints in what to do in the mission I.E Follow Tanks and kill infantry while hiding behind them.
Graphics: 8.2
Very nice on the Wii and best so far.
Replay ability: 8.9
Multiplayer is just **** addicting.
Sound:8.5 We get Kiefer Sutherland(Jack from 24) and Gary Oldman(commissioner Gordon)
doing voices. Oldman does his Russian counter part good( Show them strength, Show them power, show them Pride! BUT SHOW THEM NO MERCY)
Overall: 8.5
Nice game overall and its just plain addicting. As I said infinity ward now has some big shoes to fill.
So yea get the Wii version if you have one. Its a great experience and give insight on the future of FPS on the Wii.
Squadmate/yoda/girlfriend mode. Think it as the old Arcade light gun games.1. Can someone post a video of campaign co-op? Everything I see is for co-op on youtube is just 1 gun, i don't see how thats co-op
No, and frankly that's a good thing. If they did the Wiimote controls would be crap and plus playing with the Wiimote Dual Anolog Sticks are almost stone age technology.2. Can i just use a standard wii controller (like this: http://iam.colum.edu/gameculturewatch/uploaded_images/wii_standard_controller-702039.jpg ) instead of the nun chucks?
No. Its just Online.3. Is there a multiplayer vs. mode where 2+ people on the same wii can just play each other?
If that stone was made out of gold, then you'd be correct.Squadmate/yoda/girlfriend mode. Think it as the old Arcade light gun games.

well all of those answers are exactly what i didn't want to hear.Squadmate/yoda/girlfriend mode. Think it as the old Arcade light gun games.

Dual Analog sticks are second only to Keyboard and Mouse for shooters, plain and simple. If you like to move your arm around like a tool pretending to shoot with a flashlight, enjoy your plethora of shooters on the Wii (hint: there isn't that many and most aren't even good)
M'rite?Dual analog sticks almost stone age technology? Oh lord. Your posts get more entertaining by the day.
I usually don't do that. I almost use a bipod kinda technique where my arm is on the couch arm and i use that to support my aim. With out that my arm kinda gets kinda shaky . I do plan on getting one of those Gun shells as the Wiizapper looks like some one tried to get a Styler AUG and took the top part off and put the trigger on the grip, in other words kinda gimmicky *gasp*If you like to move your arm around like a tool pretending to shoot with a flashlight
If you read right i said there is a squad mate mode which uses 2 wiimotes but one player controls Pvt. Miller or Pvt. Dimitri. So one runs and guns and the other covers them.So basically no 2nd gun, only can use the wiimote, and no multiplayer for 2 people on the same wii.
I assume your talking about Medal Of Honor Vanguard. Seeing that's the only WWII game with offline multilayer on the Wii.Why is there multiplayer for 2 people on the same wii in the other COD games and not this one??
Yea but you don't even see the gun, your just some little aiming pointif you read right i said there is a squad mate mode which uses 2 wiimotes but one player controls Pvt. Miller or Pvt. Dimitri. So one runs and guns and the other covers them.
No i meant COD 4 for 360if you read right i said there is a squad mate mode which uses 2 wiimotes but one player controls Pvt. Miller or Pvt. Dimitri. So one runs and guns and the other covers them.

Hardware specs may be one. Hig Voltage tried doing spilt screen offline multi and the game just went plonk down the Frames per-Second scale. The Wii version unfortunately is gimped but i can see why. To be honest i think they where being cautious abut the Wii version. Yes i know many wii gamers would be pissed but what if more where pissed becuase of a buggy co-op system or a 1 frame per-second spilt screen game.I just don't understand why they would change all this **** on the wii. The 360 and ps3 versions have upto 4 player multiplayer online and a split screen co-op mode. why not just leave that in for the wii..
well i'll be in college when the 6th one comes out, doubt i'll be gaming at all by then.Hardware specs may be one. I'm sure when Infinity ward releases Call of duty 6, that Treyarch does Multilayer for the Wii. They could of made it more better but it was possibly becuase they where so concentrated on the other 3 versions that Wii got neglected a bit.
That said Call of Duty World at war IS a top priority game on your Wii list this holiday season, becuase lets face it, how many ERSB rated games are E to T. Thats right a **** load. Plus with Nintendo's craptastic must get for holiday list(common High School musical 3? AND Wii MUSIC???) isn't trustworthy at all.
At least it's a step in the right direction? I have a 360 and a Wii but I have no intention of every buying CoD:WaW because I still play COD4. =)The "co-op" in the Wii version makes me laugh and cry at the same time, Wii versions of multiplatform games are just so far behind there's basically no point if getting the Wii version if you own another console unless you like worse graphics and bad online. I saw the ad for CoD:WaW and it looked like a PS2 game and then I realized it was the Wii version. The only plus side of the Wii version would be the controls but why sacrifice co-op and other modes for that? The fact that this is probably the best game to buy for the Wii this winter makes me sad as a Wii owner.
Feels bad man.
Yea i wouldn't even consider it for wii if i had another system, but since i don't i'm not sure. Definitely not going to buy a whole new system just for 1 game. The "co-op" in the Wii version makes me laugh and cry at the same time, Wii versions of multiplatform games are just so far behind there's basically no point if getting the Wii version if you own another console unless you like worse graphics and bad online. Is there a list of "must-get" games for 2009 yet? I already know that I'm buying Fable II, RE5 and Halo 3: ODST when they come out for my 360.Yea i wouldn't even consider it for wii if i had another system, but since i don't i'm not sure. Definitely not going to buy a whole new system just for 1 game.
Wii has some good sides to it though. Brawl and mario kart are both good, twilight princess is supposed to be amazing, and mario galaxy is fun too
Too be honest i think 2009 is going to be the end of the Mainstream Xbox 360. Price drops and "mainstream casual" commercials are all i see about the Xbox360 today. A ad for Gears of War 2 pops up i wait for the "Gears of War 2 only on Xbox360" to be said but instead i hear Xbox360 only 399. Double u tee eff.Is there a list of "must-get" games for 2009 yet? Really? When I see the Gears of War 2 commercial's ending it says "Xbox 360, now starting at $199".Too be honest i think 2009 is going to be the end of the Mainstream Xbox 360. You can actually post your friend code(s) in this topic:hey guys any1 wanna share friendcodes for the wii version? private matches sound a lot more fun and its kinda hard to find someone who got the wii version
P.S: Type-100, Box-Magazine, Bandolier, Sleight of hand, Toss back FTW
...and cliffside rules
you got no idea... i only found like 5 codes and none of these appears to have logged in to accept..... tyvm for the link m8You can actually post your friend code(s) in this topic:
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=132633
And I would imagine it'd be difficult to find someone who has the Wii version due to the friend codes shenanigans.
