Honestly, I don't think we'd see any clear results for some time even if the proposition was passed. Farmers would logically continue to avoid the proposition for some time to cut down on costs before they would get caught by the authorities. I think I would vote for this proposition to be in effect, but it'd be much more effective if there was some kind of practice or strict consequence put in effect if the law was broken.
Ha. Haha. Hahahaha. The Proposition was already passed... and they've already increased the sizes. The government requires checks on the sizes and health of the animals.

I believe something intangible separates humans from other animals. To ask "how would you feel?" is irrelevant because if I were a **** chicken, I wouldn't be feeling a whole lot, or at least not the same as I do now. It figures that Cali would pass this >_>.

EDIT: looks as though I'm a bit late =o.
Haaaaahahahahah.
Yeah, you are late.
Something intangible separates humans from animals? Humans are animals. where did you hear that humans were better then everything else because we aren't animals, but because there are three things in the universe:objects, animals, and us. How do we get our own little category? Funny. Anyways, they passed it.

You guys honestly think humans are no different from any other animals? Why don't other "animals" engage in politics like we do? Why don't they create art? Why don't they use math and logic in an effort to map out the universe? Why don't they consider the possibility of a God or an afterlife? Why don't they have culture?

I am sitting here, writing something that argues about morals, economics, and politics. I'm doing it on a computer and it's for people I've never even seen before, some of which live hundreds of miles away. My race has harnessed electricity, mastered mechanics, and has the ability to store vast quantities of information on a small quarter-sized card. I am only 16 years old, and yet I have some sort of grasp on all of this. This shows me that I am clearly different from the other species of the earth.

If anyone can show me a chicken or a group of chickens that can do any of the above things, I'd dearly love to see it/them. Until then, Humans > Chickens -.-

Oh, btw I like how that santa hat fits on your avi Mewter. ;)

And? Can we run faster than a cheetah? Fly on our own like a bird? Everything is different, no two animals are the same and different does not equal better. If you want to look at survivability then cockroaches have us beaten by a longshot, we could very well kill off our entire species, but theres a myriad of animals we probably couldnt kill off short of literally destroying the planet.

individually, we're just a little smarter than animals. but that small difference created more complex social actions, which allowed us to store information in things other than our heads. take away our technology and books, and you'll see just how similar we are to other animals.

the fact that we're capable of subduing 'other' animals and do so on a regular basis makes us "superior" enough to where we have the power and right to treat them how we wish

it doesn't matter if a tiger can maul me 1v1; if the tiger is capable of using a sniper rifle, then we'll talk

Their point is that if we're more superior then we should value our own lives more than theirs. In this case it MIGHT cause a problem for the economy, but this isn't even really arguable anymore, because it already passed, and it's been working fine. People who think that way are only simply being selfish.
