That Luigi was half-decent then, eh? That's cool, I used to actually be somewhere around that skill level. Never taught myself to spot-dodge, but I had some more aggressive edge-guarding and a few combos here and there... aah, good times, good times...
I'm glad they're taking glitches out of brawl. If there is a glitch people can exploit to have an advantage over players who don't know about said glitch then I agree that it should definately be taken out.
As the thread seems to have cooled down a bit ( well, except for a certain person's head ), I'll go ahead and say that I agree to an extent.
If one player doesn't even know about the "glitch" ( in most cases, they aren't glitches at all ), then it's rather unfair to use the tricks against them, as they can't have any idea how to defend against that. That takes the fun out of the game.
What comes after that, though, is important.
The one who knows the technique should not just laugh at the other and call him a n00b, and the other player should, if he really
wants to compete against someone who uses such tricks, not just whine about how unfair it is, but practice to learn the techniques himself. They are open books after all, there are thousands of guides everywhere.
Really, if everyone managed to show some respect for others, there wouldn't be problems in the first place.
"Wow, John, how did you do that?"
"It's wavedashing, Jim, I do it by airdodging into the ground before even leaving it!"
"That's cool, but I don't want to have to learn that in order to have a fair match with you!"
"Okay!"
Happiness ensues.
... yeah, I live in a happy little world.
EDIT: Aaah, so you weren't serious after all? Okay.
