"Brink (stylised as BRINK) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Splash Damage for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was released in North America on May 10, 2011, in Australia on May 12, in Europe on May 13 and in Japan on June 16.
In Brink, two factions, Resistance and Security, battle in a once-utopian city called The Ark, a floating city above the waters of a flooded Earth.
Brink has Steamworks integration, including Valve Anti-Cheat. It runs on id Tech 4 and has an updated rendering framework with improved support for multiple CPU cores. Brink is a first-person shooter with a focus on parkour-style movement. Online multiplayer servers hold up to 16 players; players can play cooperatively or competitively, or against artificially-intelligent bots."

Brink is basically a cross between Mirror's Edge and Call of Duty/Battlefield.

There are four character classes: Soldier, Medic, Engineer, and Operative. The same class system could also be found in the previous titles Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The Soldier resupplies teammates, can throw molotov cocktails, and can complete destroy objectives by using explosives. The Engineer buffs his teammates' weapons, builds stationary turrets, and can complete repair and build objectives. The Medic heals teammates, revives downed teammates, and buffs their teammates' health. The Operative interrogates fallen opponents to get intel on enemy locations, performs acts of sabotage, and disguises himself as the enemy. Players can customize their characters and buy items with experience points, which are earned by completing objectives. The same experience points can be earned in both single-player and multiplayer. Bethesda claims that players can create a total of 102 quadrillion unique character combinations, if minor variations are factored in.

Man way to get it off Wikipedia without taking off the citation brackets lol

And this game looks interesting. I considered getting this game many times, but then something else I want pops up

The only thing keeping me from playing this more is the inexplicable blue tint in PC version I have. I know it depends on the video card, but you'd think they would have patched it by now.

Still, the game is very fun when I do play it.

Here's details on the FREE DLC coming out by the end of the month (at least that's what they said (they being Splash Damage)).

New Maps

Founders' Tower – The revolution finally reaches the island's iconic spire and takes the battle for the Ark to dizzying heights.
Labs – Venture into the depths of the Ark’s original research and development laboratories, a submerged high-tech facility so far untouched by the civil war.

New Player Abilities

UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes.
Napalm Grenade – Soldiers can use this new grenade to cover an area in a sea of deadly flames.
Pyro Mine – Engineers can plant these mines and leave enemies in the epicenter of a massive napalm explosion.
Field Regen Unit – Medics can deploy these units to increase the health regeneration of any nearby teammates.
Tactical Scanner – This universal ability allows players to reveal the active buffs of their opponents, allowing them to pick off enemies more strategically.

New Weapon Attachments

Bayonets – Gain the edge in melee combat and cause extra damage with these deadly blades.
Weapon Shields – Take cover from enemy fire and prevent headshot bonus damage behind riot-style shields.

New Character Outfits

The Sad Punk – Add a touch of Steampunk to your Resistance character.
The Limey – Bring order to the Ark with this outfit inspired by traditional European police lawmen.

I've been focusing on technical ability in brink in case i decide to play competitively, there is alot of stuff you can do with SMART but all of it you can do faster better and cancellable if you go without it.

I got it for $40 in a Gamestop yesterday, the only reason I really bought it.

I love the fact that I'm the only one here who plays the game on Steam.

And by "love," I mean "am completely depressed by."

I learned today that all grenades are weak as hell.

Caltrops and Lazarus grenades are pretty good. Also, what's everyone's loadout? The Kross SMG is amazing so everyone should use it.

they knockdown, which is the important thing. you can sprint in and kill everyone after a knockdown. also sticky mines are almost 1 hit kills.

I've always like the Baulpup(?). The DooM gun.

Beyond that, the Kross is pretty good.

Recently, I picked up the Rockstedy(?). It looks like the SCAR, and is semi auto. 8/10 times it kills in 3 shots unbuffed (range depends too). It's great.

Also, shotgun+engineer buff= SIT THE **** DOWN.

K, 'cause some people tell me it sucks and others tell me it doesn't.

Might as well rent it first. Anyone here have a PS3?

Oooohh, powerful guns...So, I'll probably rent it, see if I like it, and buy it for a discount if I can. :)

Which platform do you play on?

DLC just got released, at least for us PC players. Meanwhile, I still have to see if my main complaint has been fixed.
