if this is anything like last time and if I'm still welcome I would love to come, would be hard though since I would need a set date that fits my schedule which would be a serious pain with christmas and all =)

and ya, prof/fuzzy >>>>>>> me being there, so I hope you get your practice in before BEAST (not that anything in the world can prepare you for the swedish awesomeness)

It's only £15 return from London by train (£10 with young persons)... I'm surprised no-one is stepping up.

Cool, I'm there either way. I might be late on Friday though, depending on work.

Yeah you two can come down. It won't be the biggest of smashfests, but we can just chill and play smash.

Hopefully I won't be so tired as I usually am and I'll show you my true power :p

lol, all I'm saying is I have much more tournament and competitive experience with the character.

I know the ditto very well as it happens. Because I know the character....

But is still correct.

As for Samus, you can fair/jab all her projectiles, so you should never be getting camped or restricted by them. Other than that, grabs are really important as she can crouch cancel for ages. Once she is in the air, she is floaty with slow dair, and no good way of covering below her, so just keep juggling her.

And unless you are using sheik, gimping/ edgeguarding is going to be really tricky. Just keep the pressure on and only commit if you see them make a mistake/restrict themselves.

harhar.

anyway this isn't happening anymore because we're having some non-smash friends to visit this weekend. They won't be too pleased if we just sit around smashing. In other news, the week after the 10th I'm free. So if some people feel like coming down, it wouldn't be a problem then.

P.S

Love how GM_jack thinks he can come into this thread and answer some obscure match up advice with very little experience to answer questions on the matter. Smash debaters..gawd.

Samus is just a big ball sack. Don't be afraid of her janky crouch cancels because she can't grab you and the worst you're going to get is a dsmash. Space her out and hit her with the tip of your sword if she's trying to crouch. If she shields grab her, don't shield her missles ever because she wants you to so she can grab you/get above you with a nair stopping your jump/stabbing your shield.

She's ****. Just treat her like she is and you'll win :p

lol, good job i didnt book my ticket then! weekend after the 10th it is.

the missiles dont really hit ever, but i see em as samus' main way of gaining momentum. if you shield em she can start applying alot of pressure, and you sort of have to avoid them unless u play the plumbers. other than that they arn't too good, but again, when used to gain momentum or into a grab they are good enough. also random offstage kills when they intercept ur stall or poor timing on ur part is super ghey.

when i play PMS with marth i do alot of jump up side B -> uair to juggle, and SH fair-> uair. works a treat cos she is so floaty, and you can juggle her in the air quite easily too. SH sideB -> uair is also nice, generally spacing her out works well. she can do horrible edgeguards against marth under the stage tho so ur DI gotta be on point. if you go under she can force you into a sweetspot or die situation, and thats really hard for marth to get out of so the solution is to DI well and recover above the stage. samus' moves give a hell of alot of room for DI.

thats not true but imo the metagame has seen their main purpose shifting away from damage/kills

fuzz - ill be up for leaving early early sunday. like 5/6? sleep on the train.

smakis - smashboards internet speak metagame lol ****!!! altough whenever i play IC's one of the missiles always hits one climber through shield.

hugo - try dashing into them and PSing, then WDooPS. if you cant reliably reflect, which realistically is limited to mario/doc/m2, keep moving and avoid them. just dont give momentum thats all you need to think about.

i heard something funny on commentary yesterday. 'Look how cool Chus IC's are with his WD->Dsmashoos... and many variations of it. hahahahahaaha

that usually happens when you try to shield on reaction, nana is always 6 frames behind and sometimes she doesn't get her shield up in time. I try to light shield in order to make it explode before it can touch nana =P (if I have to shield it).

Missles are gay, if you've ever played cyr he has the gayest samus ever.

He won't let you in with any kind of aerial, by virtue of Up B from shield anything you land without perfect pressure. Then once he has you out of the way it's all running alonside those gay missles and wavedashing back if you kill them and grabbing you if you block.

It was lame but I prevailed.

Also the fest wouldn't be on the weekend after the 10th but actually during the week. Reason being I think it's Swizzy's birthday on the weekend and I don't know what he's doing. If nothing I'm probably going to go home on the sunday so I guess I could do friday saturday.
