this is strat is very hard. the beggining and landing on the elevator are very hard (in my opinion)

I got the beginning down often enough now, but I have never been able to land on the elevator with a jump -> fireball -> second jump -> fireball, even after just trying that part over and over again. any tips? If I get that part down then the rest will be a piece of cake, sub 9 time easy

first you need to be FAST, so after your second jump you catch the platform in the lowest position

second, you need to fire the first fireball really fast so you can rejump faster. sometimes i end doing upB because of that (remember to stick jump!)

i still dont think sub 9" is easy, good luck!

Were you able to land on the high platform on the right after the second fireball? That is what's always held me back from doing that strat.

You probably already did this but, I land almost at the very tip of the left corner.

As you've probably seen in one of the Youtube vids, it's totally doable with no much of effort,
think of the way you do a SHDL (if you do...) but with a FH, throw the first fireball while still in the beginning of that jump.

FH + fireball at beginning of jump is what I've tried, still can't get up there. Guess I need to do the fireball even earlier, but if you say its reasonably doable I'll keep tryin it.

Anyways I sped up my super slow char to less super slow times to help out my overall (Mario, Link, Ness, and Jiggly)
Also new Luigi 15.07, and Fox 12.73 (both still third)

My new total is 3min 09.19secs. That should put me 3rd overall now.

Also emu times are legit IMO. It's harder than console, if there's any difference at all. Don't see why it wouldn't be allowed.

My only concern with emu is the timer. I wonder if, and this is strictly speculation, if the computer suddenly does another action during a btt run, could that potentially slow down the timer? But yea as long as emu timers are accurate that's fine.

Got Samus to 9.13 with a bair lol (tied for 2nd)
Got Fox faster (AGAIN) with 11.99. (2nd)

I was mad motivated for this back in 09 after watching the documentary "King of kong a fistfull of quarters". It was actually what got me into competitive smash. VBut lost motivation more and more after finding out how fun it was playing all this good people online 1v1/2v2.

But still pretty proud i managed to get my times sub 3 total without knowig of smashboards or z-cancel.

I did. I played as a madman. So what was holding me away from even faster times was the lag i got after every airial. But yeah the king of kong inspiration helped allso xD. I used allot of stickjump though, which helped many of my times. Link/DK/fox.

An alternative way of doing the samus start without z-cancel is first jab the first target. Then imidiatly jump and flamefair the target to the left, and then land back on the platformtarget in the same jump. To dont get lag on the elevator without using z-cancel i do a weird bair jump.(starting to jump right then tilt the joystick left while i bair. samus land perfectly on the elevator when its on its lowest.) I think this method is close to as fast as the one all the other of you do. Maybe just as fast.

The spreadsheet I made is awesome btw, so easy keep track of stuff. I'm keeping track of everyone's overall times by summing up the rest of your times, so let me know any time you change even if it doesn't put you in the records.
