hmmm, this is interesting. I can't wait to see how many people get their hopes crushed by the absence of wavedashing. Or the celebrating the forum will undergo when Wavedashing is found to be present.

Whoever is going down there, PLEASE get as much info as you can from the demo. Screen shots, video, even just information. If they say you can't bring in cameras and whatnot, use your cellphones.
Im sure theres gunna be impressions from a lot of ppl.

I find myself giggling at the thought of people wasting precious time during the tournament just trying to confirm different advanced techniques.

People act like the Smash Bros. franchise revolves around wavedashing. It doesn't. This is a whole new game. I, for one, am looking forward to finding new glitches/exploits to mess with.

Exactly. Because this is the first new Smash Bros. game in a while, try some new stuff. I can't wavedash, am still pretty good, and have a lot of fun while playing.

Woooooooooooh! I actually shouted that when I read the news on Kotaku, now my roommate thinks I'm nuts.

The franchise doesn't, but the competitive scene does. Wavedashing is what blurs the line between movement and attacks. Remove wavedashing and the game will become slower, tactics will become simpler, and mindgames will take a serious hit.

Wow really!!! I live near LA! Haha yeah! should i go though? probably crowded, 3hr lines or something. I've never been to a videogame get together-meeting thing.

Edit: what the...? I just checked the E for All website. So expensive $45 Thurs/Fri, $65 Sat/Sun(alot more than anime expo) and that money I need to buy Brawl!! not to mention i also want Guitar Hero and Mario Kart Wii (whenever that comes out which i hope is soon)!! I guess not and probably super crowded. darn.

So all the rest of you guys willing to spend that much?
Any of you guys feel this way? Should I go?

We can argue about something else if you like. I haven't seen much talk about the c-stick.

Will it work in single player this time?
Will it even work in multi player?
Is it essential to game play?
Do you use it?
Will you be disappointed if it doesn't work?

I'm glad someone mentioned this, as I've been curious about it myself. Especially since I use the c stick.

There's your proof that Sonic will be revealed tomorrow. I said Brawl will be playable at E for All, and guess what, Brawl is playable at E for All.

Your logic makes no sense. Sonic will be confirmed tomorrow because of an event in nine days.

...

Am I missing something?

E for All is on the 18th. >_>
Like I said in the other topic, there are 2 separate conferences happening. One is tomorrow, the 10th, and the other is E for All on the 18th. Tomorrow, we get Sonic. At E for All, we get Brawl playable.

If we do get Sonic tomorrow, you're the new god. =p *Even if i'm atheist*

But until then, you're just the ignorant kid who keeps thinking everyone else would believe his words.

I can't believe that until I have...you know...actual proof.
I don't feel like typing everything out again, so just check the Sonic topic in the character discussion forum. Me and one other person both said Sonic will be revealed tomorrow. I revealed the starting roster and said Brawl will be playable at E for All. Fast forward to today where we officially find out Brawl is playable at E for All.

I'll doubt they'll reveal Sonic. Especially before Mario and Sonic: AtOG is even released. It'll jepodize sales for the Olympics games game.

This is great news. I wish I was still living in LA...or could just skip classes for a week. Regardlesss, I wonder which control scheme they'll be pushing at the booth. Sakurai seems to favor the gamecube controller, I think all of the updates with menus have been gamecube geared.

I guess we'll just have to wait until Wednesday to see if you're lying or not.

I'm extremely excited for this! While I don't live in LA (I'm in Phoenix) I will be there for my fall break. I really hope this game will be as great as I imagine.

This is amazing news for everyone; not just those who are attending. The game is out in just two months, so I'm not too worried that some people are going to be able to play it now and I still have to wait. I don't exactly envy the people who'll be spending hours and hours in line just to play Brawl for a few minutes... I'd rather just get all the vids and impressions at my leisure and not be teased by a brief hands on with what'll most likely be a pretty limited demo.

We've been spoiled rotten thanks to the Dojo already, and now we'll get some serious hands-on impressions to boot. We'll finally start getting answers to questions surrounding what the real gamespeed is like [compared to what has been shown in trailers], how the returning characters feel compared to their Melee incarnations [someone who knows what they're about BETTER spend some serious time with the Ice Climbers], and how the balance is shaping up [who's been upped, who's been nerfed, etc]. And of course we'll finally have a definite answer to which of the advance techs have returned, what the new emphasis on aeriel combat has done to the pacing, etc, etc.

Even if the press conference tomorrow turns out to be a joke, the floodgates open starting on the 18th. :0)

This is the day after my 16th birthday. I hate Indiana, though. It's in the middle of the country, and therefore far away from everything.

We need all the questions answered (yes, I know people have listed this before):
  • C-stick?
  • Wavedash?
  • L-cancel
  • Does Falcon still have the knee?
  • How does the game feel (more like 64, more like Melee, in the middle)
  • How awesome is Snake?
  • Can Fox lose his blaster?
  • Zamus info.
  • Smash balls.
  • How does the Pokemon Trainer fatigue system work?
  • Does wobbling still exist?
  • Is Sheik in? Does she still have ****-tilts?
  • Is Peach's d-smash still broken?
  • Is the shine still amazing?
  • GET VIDEOS, pls!!
