ROFL @ nintedno fanboy's inability to see a good game bacawz it isnt on his favorite system
Good, but overrated. Personally, I do think the series is good but does not live up to it's hype. Really, the game has a "good" single player, better than a lot of games, but nothing you could call the "best game ever." Multiplayer is uber though and it scores lots of points.

Of course, you could say the same for SSB, it's single player is definitely weaker than Halo's though, although, SSE might change that. I think SSBB will be better than Halo 3, but... that is my opinion.

We've been jumping platform to platform for over 20 years.

We've only had a chance to kill Pikachu for 10...

Brawl will beat it, easily. Replay value for brawl has now been guaranteed to be a 10 with the create a level feature.

Brawl....I honestly think it could be one, if not the best selling game this gen of gaming. I actaully think if the Wii blasts off with Galaxy FURTHER, and gives it a 5 to10 million unit lead, Brawl will make the Wii win. Brawl is simply put going to be a much wider appeal-multiplayer, single-player, online; and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Everyone knows Mario, but this is really the first smash game that will be coming out to where most casual gamers know what smash is, or ar least Melee. Brawl has been one of the most discussed games of all-time on the internet, and will be a worldwide phenomenoum. I'm almost willing to bet it will sell 9 to 12 million units in all honesty. 3rd party characters, huge roster, create a stage, items, final smashes-it's revolution. It will be played by fighting game fans, Nintendo series repped in Brawl fans, casual gamers who love a deep fun game, MGS fans, Sonic fans, and any other 3rd party games/series repped in Brawl fans. Definitely. ;)

I'm afraid I'm not the one anointing a recently-released, vastly-overhyped game as one of the best ever.

I've played all 3 Halo games. They're all decent games, and all are overrated. None of them is God's Gift to Gaming, and none of them makes any vast innovations over the previous game.

yeah, best ever is basically opinion...halo 3 is my favorite game, at least right now though. I think it and SSBB will be my two favorites at least for this generation.

Really this isn't a smart conparison. Now ignoring that this is the smash forums (in that everyone is pro smash) as we look at Galaxy and Brawl we can see that Galaxy is one of those big bang games that everyone loves and talks about throughout the time they play it but once it's beat it dies away. Brawl is one of those long stream games that even if it doesn't give that big bang (which it will) it will last for years because of it's multiplayer and just as well might become a sport. Even if you say galaxy now, everyone will be thinking brawl in a given set of months.

So again, this isn't a fair comparison since Galaxy (as good of a game it will be) will ultimately die or fade away into a memory. I believe Halo 3 and Brawl was a better comparison since they are the same kind of game (longevity speaking).

meh, im getting both anyways :p

Galaxy seems like it has a lot going for it so I'm sure it will have a lot of hype for a while but in the long run ssbb will end up with more sells and such due to its insane replay value.

The simple fact that:

Spoiler:

Luigi is playable

Will make Galaxy huge. I've played at Gamestop and this game will be great. I'm looking forward to it more than I am Brawl.

Pfft, people have like 3 months to get bored of Galaxies after they've beaten it.
Brawl wins.

imo, ssbb deserves a higher score than smg. I know they are completely different games, but when you compare how much crap(the good kind) has been stuffed inside them, ssbb wins hands down. Just ask yourself this question; which game has a better replay value?

I really can't see an aspect of Brawl that can rate low. Graphics maybe, cause backgrounds aren't as impressive. But the characters look top notch.

Music is a 10 by far. Gameplay may get an 8 for its simplicity... Lasting Appeal is 10.

Really all I can see getting rated non-perfect is Gameplay and maybe Graphics.

I think Brawl will out do Galaxy. Brawl is multiplay and is online so we'll be playing it long after Galaxy since it is only a 1 player game, and after getting everything there is nothing more to do then just do possible speed runs. Plus we got months to finish galaxy before brawl even comes out so no worries.

Maybe you guys haven't been reading the spoilers but Galaxy has more replay value than other Mario game out there. Mario Galaxy will get game of the year.

Spoilers

Not only is Luigi playable, but the title changes to Super Luigi Galaxy when he's unlocked. He also lays differently than Mario and his mode is harder. And if you beat the game with all stars with Luigi you unlock another stage.

There's only one true answer for that.

Galaxy will be remembered, praised and loved. This winter.

Brawl will be remembered, praised and loved. For the rest of Wii's lifespan.

It's unthinkable to compare those two games, as one is mainly for singleplayer and the other one mainly for multiplayer. Most people will think that Galaxy was a better game than Brawl. But people will very likely play Brawl a lot more, in time.

From what I've heard when playing the game, the music is 10x better than what Brawl has. I know Ign was very high on it as well. The controls and everything in Galaxy is perfect from what I played.

Everyone jumps on the media hyped games, but there is always those few games that come out and suprise. People are like wtf this is awesome when they get it. I am currently working on getting Galaxy and plan to get it for Christmas break. I won Twighlight Princess off of ebay cheap (although it was gamecube version). My other target is Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games. It is out now.

*Facepalm* Such a waste of time. Both games are two completely different genres. There's no need to compare other games to it since many people have said Brawl is an excellent game (from the demo). No need worrying.
Quoted for truth. You've summed it up more concisely than I could have.

Personally me, I think Brawl will be better, but not by an incredible margin, and that is largely because of its better multiplayer setup. Super Mario Galaxy however has the huge advantage of actually being a fully fledged Wii game, since it will properly utilize the nunchuck/wiimote device and have point and shoot functions, not to mention it probably has a significantly more intricate physics system.

I think this sums it up better than anything else. If you like single player, you get Galaxy. If you like multiplayer, you get Brawl. 'Nuff said. Or if you like both single player and multiplayer, you get both :D

It doesnt matter which ones better.

All that matters is the fact that the Wii kicks @$$.

Its all a matter of opinion. Why on earth would everyone have to conform to a list of which game is better than which, and I know sales are important but both games are going to sell to millions of people who will love em.

I gotta agree here, one will be remembered for better Single Player, the other for better Multiplayer. Though since Brawl looks to have an awesome single player too (may not be as good as galaxy) I think it will win out in the end

It doesn't matter, because once you buy both of them you will be the happiest wii owner ever. (and be sure to get MOH Heroes 2 so I can kill you in 32 player online!)

This is off-topic, but I'm gonna ask still:
Why do ppl think Super Mario Sunshine sucks?
I went on Gamespot and they gave the game 8/10. (Rating: Great)
Please bear in mind that I have never played the game and I am a newb compared to the "masters" on here. *draws out flame shield*

Sunshine wasn't that great. Just go buy it and play it yourself. The graphice were good, but the environments seemed unoriginal (sometimes, mind you) and the game wasn;t considered to be as "free" as Mario 64 was. Galaxy brings us back to the "free" aspect and still keeps the game fresh, while ALSO throwing in the best (arguably.... I guess) graphics on wii to date.
