Can it really top Galaxy? I've been to IGN and Gamespot and their reviews about Galaxy says that it is one of the best and an instant classic. They nearly gave it a perfect 10/10. Can Sakurai actually find a way to atleast stand aside Galaxy in success or even surpass it? This could be the new beginning of Nintendo as we speak. Not to mention Mario Kart Wii is adding a lot of new things and has gotten my attention as well. Your thoughts?

I think it can, seeing as along with a cool new single player, it has an INCREDIBLE multiplayer, and when youve completely exhausted Single Player mode (which I think won't happen too soon with SE) theres always multiplayer: Special melee, tourney, Wi-Fi and then theres the stage builder

Is this a thread on which of two games that aren't released yet is better? Every honest answer to this question will be BS since it's all based on speculation. Congradulations.

Ok, only a few days till release of Galaxy, big deal. Go read the reviews, certainly they aren't BS.

Brawl will sell better than Galaxy, most likely. IGN mentioned something like they were totally in love with Brawl after only playing the Demo (the same one that was at E for All). I have no doubt the game will receive 10/10.

Galaxy will probably be 9.5+/10, both will be great games I am sure. I just have a bad taste in my mouth from Mario Sunshine, as far as "Star Collecting" goes.

But comparing it to a game that won't be released until feburary is pointless. In order to compare, you need facts that currently don't exist. Are you asking which one we think will be better? If so, it certainly doesn't merit a thread for it.

The fake OC, because I'm nothing like them.
E4All:
Brawl dominated the floor, SMG was there you know.
Super Smash Bros. (the original) was better than Super Mario 64 because of replayability. Melee was definitely better than Sunshine, but many games are better than Sunshine.

You have nothing to worry about, Brawl will be awesome considering Melee's production time was half Brawl's and we're still playing Melee! Brawl will last twice as long. That is (2 x 1/0[1/0 = infinity])... it will be a good game.

*Facepalm* Such a waste of time. Both games are two completely different genres. There's no need to compare other games to it since many people have said Brawl is an excellent game (from the demo). No need worrying.

brawl will be the game we play years from now, but galaxy is probably more groundbreaking(brawl is great but doesn't add anything new to gaming, its just a solid title.)

I'm not worrying, just looking for a discussion with comparison of 2 instant classics.

I'm fully expecting Mario Galaxy to walk away with the title of 'My Favourite Game of the Year'. As of this moment its Bioshock but i still havnt got Metroid Prime 3, Mass Effect and The Orange Box. Its safe to say im unbelievably hyped for Mario Galaxy. Maybe more so than Brawl.

Brawl wont do as well as Galaxy in reviews since multi player games are largely judged by online play these days. In sales Brawl will probably do better.

As for 'what i'll enjoy more'. Its impossible to say now but i'll probably be playing Brawl long after Mario Galaxy has been sold.

Two completely differnt games.

Like comparing Tetris to Zelda...

They're both going to be incredibly awesome though.

in all total honesty, i think people are expecting a bit too much of Galaxy. it's supposed to b the next Super Mario 64, but so was mario sunshine... I think brawl will win out
Galaxy is by far better than Sunshine and actually fits the deserving title as a "sequel"

I LOVE sidescrolling (as long as it looks good) and Brawl is going to have a deep, fun Single PLayer (sidescrolling too) PLUS there are bosses, Im gonna have a ton of fun with them by themselves, I honestly believe I would survive, maybe even be content, If Brawl was JUST the SE

Add amazing multiplayer to that and I say Brawl will come out on top (by just a little)

You can't compare the two. One's an amazing single player experience while the other's an amazing multiplayer game. Brawl might be able to edge it out in sales though.

The real question is: Game of the year - Brawl or Mass Effect?

Here's an idea:

Get both and judge after you've played them.

The real question is: Game of the year - Brawl or Mass Effect?
Mass Effect, obviously. Brawl will be GOTY of 08.

On the blue planet next to the sun, can't miss it!
The two games cannot be compared, as they are different genres. And besides, there's no reason to speculate, because Galaxy seems to be created by people with large supplies of ...erm....mushrooms.

Although, Brawl is more worth the wait so...I'm going to have to say Brawl on this one.

All I know is I desperately want both of them. I wasn't all that excited about Super Mario Galaxy for the longest time just because I never bothered to look into it, but now that I've seen several video reviews and a lot more screen shots, I NEED that game. I'm glad I have it reserved :D
