There are people that still rely on the Vault for BRSTMs...I die a little inside everytime someone asks for a song that we already have on the site over at KCMM. We need more ways to be noticed...I mainly make the BRSTMs for fun now, but it'd be nice if more people were aware of us.

I have a few songs on BrawlVault. I haven't forgotten about it completely, but I may post songs there if they can't get up on BCM for some reason (remake, duplicate, etc).

Also, I just finished doing an entire soundtrack.... and but I compared it to some that were already uploaded, and.... ugh.... why did the GBA sound quality have to be absolutely ****ing ****?

There's NO way you can make good quality BRSTMs. My ones are too muffled and too quiet. The ones uploaded are mostly the opposite. Too clear, and sound really 'noisy' and horrible.

Unfortunately, since the forums are on the same domain, he can't make a topic explaining why it's offline -- the only thing is for him to come here and tell us what's going on... or go on the IRC.

Also, with regards to 3DS ripping (extracting the data from ROMs) which hopefully will eventually be possible... in a few months (hopefully not too long)...

I REALLY REALLY hope it's streamed... and has loop info. Simply for the problems I was having with that track from Super Mario 3D Land, since I can't for the life of me find a single loop in either variation.

When the site is back, one of the admins can activate your account. Which account do you want to use? Also, someone (maybe Soneek) needs to add a note reminding people not to create more than ine account, if their initial one isn't activated, and that they should perhaps ask one of us (admins) to activate it for them.

Here's the basic gist of what he said....

Brace yourself, Alaric. It's ..... not good.

Everything..... is gone.
Data is wiped.... no brstms.

Now I do have a backup of every brstm and mp3 that was uploaded...

The only two problems....

1. There's 128 GB of space.

2. Because I started backing up since September 2011, and that NOTHING gets erased from the back up, this ALSO means that any rejected brstms that were rejected AFTER the back up, I still have. So, I've probably got a load of rejected brstms, since, once the brstm is backed up, it's never erased (unless I did it manually).

So.... apparently, "It works!"

Alright, well, it looks like the worst possible thing happened last night.

Well, I'm 99% sure that when we saw Moosehunter supposedly uploading those spam files, that was not in fact him.
What the most likely thing is is that someone hacked the server.

Now, once I checked today it appears nearly all the data (including FTP login files) were destroyed.

You have a backup still don't you? of the main site and BRSTMs.
If so we are going to need to put those back up seeing as all was wiped.

I had to do a system repair in order to regain any read/write and FTP access to the services too.

Well, he might have viewed past conversations between the staff and other people that had bad endings.





Now that I think about it, it could be that that hacker might be someone that's been a pain to us before on the YT channel (e.g., that one user who kept making multiple accounts to avoid getting reported).
