Bomb cancelled bomb cancelled bomb?

Well I was messing around yesterday on a random stage against a metaknight, and came across an interesting use for bomb cancelling. I jumped onto a platform and dropped a bomb and cancelled that and did it all in the time that it would normally take you to just get out of one normal bomb. On accident, however, I bomb cancelled and laid a second one down right next to it. The two bombs then hit the poor metaknight who came in at practically the same time!

Granted, this still involves people actually falling for the bombs, but it seems to me that with bomb cancelling, we can essentially double our chances of hitting someone with a bomb. Additionally, it seems like there could be a possibility for maybe even three bombs, to lay down a minefield that would go off almost simultaneously that would be extremely difficult to cross. Any tactical value? Discuss.

This is interesting. I never thought I'd see a use for Samu's bombs, but it looks like I may have been proven wrong.

Well, I'd love to provide a vid, but I have no video capture or camera. To tell the truth, I've never been very good at bomb/Raigoth cancelling. I pull them off by accident a lot, but I don't know how to do them on purpose. Is anyone else better at it, that can try to make a video of it?

A while back there was this one thing on corneia (not sure if I spelled that right?) where if you were on the slope and held down it would auto drop another bomb, I think Undrdog was the one to make a vid of it. Not sure if this is similar to what you are talking about. It was pretty useless, but I'll try to find the vid so you can say if its faster or better or the same or something.

I've done something like this before. The game makes it impossible to have more than 2 bombs on the screen at the same time. If you try to drop a third bomb with 2 bombs already out, you will shift into morph ball (completely vulnerable) and no bomb comes out. Dropping 2 bombs faster is still cool, though!

That is lame. And I guess it may have been something like that, Viris. It was faster than that, but it was on Lylat, so the stage may have had something to do with it, although I remember that both bombs were stationary when they blew up (ie, not rolling downhill). I think we should still at least explore bomb cancelling to see how fast it and whether a second bomb can be pulled out within reasonable amounts of time. I'd love to if I knew exactly how to cancel it.

Update: I recorded it on my camera, and uploaded it. Unfortunately, I've discovered that it had to do with metaknight. He hit me right as my first bomb came out, so the second one appeared to be lagless. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up. I'm just as disappointed by it as anyone. If you watch the video I'm sure you'll see why I thought it could've been a big deal. They came out so fast :(

EDIT for slightly better quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xJ6plVwEe4

I wonder why that happens with so many explosives. The same thing happens with Snake's grenades and Link's bombs.

In a way, I sorta feel better that I told the truth and crushed everybody's hopes. The truth hurts, but not more than never knowing it. It's like... choosing between being slapped or a tumor that slowly kills you.

Hey guys, I couldn't record it but I was fighting a friend this past weekend and he had chosen Samus. I grabbed a statue thing(lolitems) and out came a metroid. Him having recently been playing a "prime" game decided to do what you do in those games to rid yourself of a metroid and he started dropping morphball bombs.

He had 7 bombs out at once. I'm guessing the metroid was fast interrupting his bomb dropping...

Ah, if only we could select which assists and pkmn came out of their respective items, then they might actually have a use (still casual use though just better).

In that ruined tower, atop a mountain.

Spring Cancelling allows you to lay 3 bombs at once, Metroid Prime style.

I think it's because the spring resets your bomb count. Items aren't allowed in competitive play anyways. That goes for you too, Metroid.
