My personal fav is the water starter, Poppilo. Baby seals are cute <3
I actually started the most often with a water starter, because I normally like the designs of the water pokemon more (favorite color is blue) and I like the typing.

Gen 1 was Squirtle (My fav starter ever, too <3)
Gen 2 was Totodile
Gen 3 was Torchic
Gen 4 was Piplup
Gen 5 was Tepig
Gen 6 was Froakie (The reason why Greninja was an alternate main for me at Smash 4 release).

Rowlet is my favorite of the new starters shown, Litten is kind of... bleh, and Popplio looks neat and I like its movements in-battle.
Seriously though, Rowlet is an adorable little fella.
