I really like Skyward Sword ZeLink; they grew up together, became really close friends and they're both willing to do anything to keep the other safe. Also, the lack of subtlety Nintendo gave for that one was amazing!
It's just too adorable in that game and probably the only iteration of ZeLink I really like...
I LOVE them for putting all of that in a Zelda game.

Nintendo did a lot of stuff in that one; underage drinking, mercy killing or suicide (don't remember which one...maybe both?), the Five Stages of Grief, etc.
I LOVE them for putting all of that in a Zelda game.

Majora's Mask has always been the darkest entry in the Zelda series, IMO.
The only other material that can rival it's darkness and creepiness in the series I can think of is that one sequence from Twilight Princess....
