The only two ways that increase the Shiny Rate via egg is the Masuda Method (breeding with two compatible pokemon that are from different Languages) and the Shiny Charm

The only shiny I've caught (other than the non-missable Red Gyrados in Silver/Soul Silver & Gold/Heart Gold) is a Nosepass in Y and I've been playing since Gen 1.

If anything they are all probably not legit. people can make their own pokemon through various means through action replay, PHx being two of the bigger ones I know about.. (i don't use either of them..)
