Welcome all of NJ! This is Blue and I’ll be hosting Brawl Weeklies at Gaming World. This is a ranking series of brawl tourneys. The top 10 brawlers will receive points to their name and varies according to placements. These points that are given will be added up and the top placing participants will get an invitation to enter the Blue Battle Cup Elite tourney Finals. In these finals a special prize will be given to the winner(s). There will be Singles, Doubles, Groups, and special events known as the Blue Star Event. I will begin with the finance first.

Singles
$10 for singles………………………………..............................................................30% will be taken out
Doubles
$10 for doubles ($5 each)……………………………..........................................10% will be taken out
Groups
for crews ($5 per person)…………………………............................................10% will be taken out
House Fee
$2

Here are the rules for each tourney event so read up. And understand the rules. I hope all of you will enjoy a competitive tourney as well for those who aren’t as competitive. This should appeal to both class brawlers. The rules will be the same for every tourney so I will explain in advance.

Singles Rules
The seeding will be done randomly but made as fair as possible. If you came with your crew or friends let us know so you will not be put in the same bracket. After the first tourney understand that points will be distributed to the top 10 placements thus they will not play each other first round at the next tourney. While earning points it will show how well you do and not be put next to another top rank brawler in the next tourney. Points are NEVER deducted.

Doubles Rules
The rules for doubles is the same for singles. The point system will be a little different though. This point system has nothing to do with the singles point system. This point system will be the top 5 teams will earn points according to their placing. You are by no means responsible for you partners points. You do not have to team with them in every tourney. Your points belong to you and only you. Even in the Blue Battle Cup Elite tourney you may still choose a partner of your choice.

Crews: Tactical Tag team

lol (sigh) ok here's how it goes
1. Each member will be given 3 stocks each. When in a match stock sharing is allowed.

2. If the crew wins the match with one available player, the leader will then choose the next member for the next crew match. Once more, stock sharing is available in the match, even to the previous player that won the match with one stock. At the start of the match that player must SD to however many stocks were remaining in the previous match and then the match begins.

3. The crew that lost the first crew match will then pick 2 more brawlers as a replacement. The losers are then allowed to choose the stage or let it be a random stage pick. If the losers choose to have a random stage pick the winners or that one winner of the crew battle must then stay the same character for the next round. If the losers decide to pick a counter pick stage to gain the advantage the winners are then allowed to change characters.

4. First round is a blind pick.

5. If 1 player is left in a crew and he has more than 1 stock, a crew member that isn't the leader may be chosen to enter the crew battle using one of the extra stocks.

6. All normal stage rules apply.

Blue Star Events
This is a special event that will sometimes replace groups. This is an event that will work under special conditions. The winner of the Blue Star Event will get a free pass to enter one of the tourneys of the next brawl tourney for free. It is only $5 to enter. One of the Blue Star Events will be:

Survival: a brawler pre-picks 3 characters to journey through the battles. Each match is a double blind pick. If you win you continue with your 3 characters if you lose you will then have the remaining 2 characters you pre-picked to aid you through the rest. You will not play the same person twice win or lose. Everyone will be separated by winners and losers. Losers will not play losers so every loser will be play a different winner and it will continue to alternate in that fashion until one winner is decided.

Stages

3 stock
7 minute time limit (no time limit for teams)
Double Elimination
If time runs out it will be broken down by stock then percent

Neutral stages
Final Destination
Battle Field
Yoshi’s Island
Lylat Cruise
Smashville

Counter picks
Delphino Plaza
Frigate Orpheon
Pokemon stadium 1
Halberd
Norfair

Winnings
Singles: 60/30/10
Doubles: 70/30
Groups: 70/30
Blue Battle Cup
Elite Finals: Invitation tourney

This is the Grand Event that will bring together those brawlers that placed in the required range to enter. The Grand Event has Singles Doubles and Group prizes. These prizes that are destined to be given to the winner(s):

Singles: first place Wii system
Doubles: first place 2 DS lights
Groups: a $50 gamestop gift card each

For single and doubles the brawlers that placed, they will only get an entry fee of 10 dollars to win a wii for singles or a DS light for doubles. Those who did not place or even attended the Blue Star Cup Will pay the full price of $40 for singles and $30 for doubles. Groups are ONLY for those who placed no outside or unranked person may enter.

So those are the rules for the brawl weeklies and I hope to see both class brawlers entering. You don’t have to enter all 3 you can be the classic competitive brawler and do only singles and doubles. But if you want to have fun do the groups and Blue Star Events as well.

EDIT: btw, it will start on the 11th of oct. and then continue there on after on the 25th

I don't like the groups thing either.

It should be crews with 4 people.
if the place gets more ppl then yes, it will change to crews. happy
Isn't crews the idea that you already are part of a team. Blue's groups category kinda of sounded like a variation of crews. Because on tournament day you go around and build your group for that day. Now if you build your group out of crew members then so be it, but for those w/o crews they can still play groups.

I don't play the game, but I still liked the concept of it.

Groups just means the three strongest players group together and make it impossible for anyone else to win, btw.

Me, Atomsk, and Mew2King sounds awesome. Wait...we're already a crew. But if Mew2King isn't there, Atomsk and I would just have the next best player join, and they would in order to get an easy win.

lol, Of course. I was merely joking in reaction to this:

I mean, I wouldn't mind, but I figured you'd group with Waltz, because as Spam said:

nvm, I just didn't understand the wording. Groups = Crews with 3 ppl.
lol

Whats really wrong with picochat, the only one I see that is bad is the spikes part. And any of the drawlings have an equal chance of showing up.

100% random events you have 0 control over and 0 ability to predict can decide matches instead of skill.

im in the air pressuring u and im at 70% darn spikes randomly appeared and killed me and decided the match

i DI'd amazingly and im on my way to recovering on my last stock...! OH MY GOD RANDOM LINE KILLED ME

i finally have the dedede defeated...but a wall appeared and now im going to get chaingrabbed for 50% and up tilted =(

i simply jumped in the air and a missle appeared and killed me wtf

to be honest. I asked Blue to guest host once and he himself came up w/ this idea. Then we worked on some differences and I liked the overall idea and I think anyone who's committed to coming to Gaming World will enjoy themselves w/ Blues Events.

P.S. Just remember to wear Blue, and blue jeans don't count.

Atomsk likes Distant Planet and still admits it's not viable in tourny.

dmbrandon likes Wario Ware and admits the same thing.

I like Skyworld but it clearly needs to be banned.

It doesn't matter if you like the stage. It's terrible.

Castle Siege, Rainbow Cruise, and Brinstar are not on the Counterpick list? Why's that?

Cus dey so stupad.

I don't know Blue's reasons, however I think Rainbow Cruise is like a Luigi Mansion without ledges.
Castle siege has some walk off edges, which the same level has platforms and just dodge for 10 seconds.. but eh..
Brinstar has those little things that split the ground apart, which glitches pikmin! :U

Though really, only RC is a jerk.

Wario ware has unfair mini games

Distant Planet has a walk off edge

Skyworld has gay platforms

PicoChat is COMPETELY FLAT half of the match. And the other half are the drawings and about 1/2 of them dont' effect game play.

3/4s of PicoChat is competetly Neutral and your arguing it shouldn't even be a counterpick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfJgtq_MwFA

I just watched it and I only saw 10/27 that were hazardous/stalling. The drawlings and the blank stage are out evenly for 13.33 seconds. In a 7 minute match only 15/27 stages will appear and the blank stage will appear 15 times. Even if one of the 10/27 does appear when only 15 will appear it will only be on for a mere 13.33 seconds of a full 7 minutes. This information here concludes that picochat should be a counterpick stage.

lmao, this was hilarious. You can easily run around all of RC and live to 200% with no effort whatsoever, clearly.

I don't mean the damage part, you can run around the stage without taking/receiving damage a lot of the time. (Least for someone who can't use a second jump without risking death).

Inui the chances are so low on picochat its ridiculous

only 10/27 are hurtfule/stalling

only 15/27 stages show up in a 7 minute match

half the time its completley flat.

I definitely say leave PictoChat as a CP. It was voted as CP with a nearly 3:1 ratio (0-25-9) during the SBR rule set voting. That seems pretty definitive, and it'd take more than a person dislike of a stage for me to deviate from the SBR stage list.

There are some key things to look out for, like the diagonal line can gimp you really hard if you're recovering on the left. I always watch out for it.

If you truly deserve to win a game, one bad break shouldn't be enough to change the outcome. Heck, even with no hazards, some games come down to a rock / paper / scissors final hit. If you let it get to that point, you deserve whatever outcome you get, IMO. It's like in the UFC when they say "don't put it in the judge's hands".

lol I don't even get why this is being discussed. Pictochat is not a tourney viable stage unless you like gambling with your money.

Having any chance of a totally random event deciding the match = instant failure.

it'd take more than a person dislike of a stage for me to deviate from the SBR stage list.
omg read my posts

100% completely random unpredictable events can decide a match.

There's no pattern and no warning when it comes to the different forms of the stage.
