Spider Sense and Linguini Present: Flying Spaghetti Monster 2-12/18/11

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You already know what it is, The Return of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was a great success and i'm looking to repeat that with this tournament!

If you have ever been to a tournament at the new and improved Zero Ping, you know to expect only the best.

The Venue

LOCATION:
Zero Ping LAN Center-Directly in front of Seminole Hardrock Hotel and Casino

ADDRESS - Zero Ping- 5450 south state road 7 and the zip code is 33174, Suite Number 11

If I were you, I'd follow my directions and use mapquest ONLY as a reference, as they tend to give screwy directions to this place for some odd reason.

So basically this place is found on 441, between the main streets of Stirling Road, and Griffin... Those are two exits off of I95, i'll have the exit numbers later. So, easiest thing I can tell you to help you not get lost, though I'm not sure if it's the fastest depending on where your coming from, Go to I95 (south or north respectively) Exit off of Stirling Road and head WEST from 95. When you hit 441 (or state road 7, same street) Make a right. You should now be heading NORTH. The next light you'll see is a street called Seminole Way. The second Street is called Lucky Street. The plaza is on the right in between these two streets.

But to not get lost ever, or miss it, just make a Right onto LUCKY STREET, and there's an entrance to the plaza on the right as soon as you turn, where u will see the infamous "Only hill"

When did you guys plan this?

Seibrik spoke with ZP this past weekend, and we got approval for a brawl tournament... and since this wasn't posted I didn't know there were plans for a Melee tournament. Is there any way that you could give me a rough estimate of how many people will be here? Also, if it's not going to be very big, could we run our two tournaments in the same venue?

Don't freak out just because it's Brawl, that's not the point.

Linguini posted the link for this in the SFL Melee group on wednesday. CFL doesn't have a tourney on this date either so they're probably driving down for this(meaning there's probably going to be between 20-30 people here)

I'll be winning this.

And by winning, I mean barely getting top 5 (assuming CFL shows up)

Will Dale and Warren be down in time?

I can't make it (I might have time for doubles but I have work at 3:15) I'll try to come back and get a couple of matches in. Good luck to everyone participating.

@ Eric - Nah man, they hate us. They won't be coming back.

hey for all those in miami and elsewhere that play melee, I'm hosting a naples tourney melee only next week on friday. Thats about approximately a 2hr drive or less from miami/ft lauderdale from what I remember, def manageable.

I'm posting here mostly cuz im unsure if any1 really knows about it since no1 has really posted anything.

For the most part chudat asked me to hold it. Therefore he'll be running the tourney and such and whatnot.

Would like to hear back from you guys. Sry for making a post unrelated to this thread but my tourney is next week and yeah, would like to get the word out there.

yeah, im sry about that nicaboy, It was honestly out of my power to do anything about how it went last time. I wanted to host a tourney but the majority didn't feel it necessary with the amount of attendance and I felt pretty bad for making u guys come out, also frustrated that ppl that said they'd show up didn't buts its w/e. :(

This time around though im not gonna bother making promises that I can't keep due to ppl not showing up last minute. The tourney will be melee ONLY so that that will be the main focus. Tbh i was hesitant about this due to before but like i said previously this is mostly chu's idea and hes holding it more so than I am (I'm not sure if thats reassuring or not but take it for what it is). I mean my place is great as a tourney venue, the brawl players that day were extremely satisfied, i just know melee wasn't just due to attendance.

If you still feel that it is not worth coming out to I understand though. If the tourney isn't much of a success even with these new factors then I'll just give up on holding melee smash tourneys and make this the last one and never look back.

If only it was that easy to successfully host a melee tournament these days. You can't just make the post and expect people to show.

Smashboards is unfortunately pretty backward in terms of still exclusively limiting itself as a forum and less as a social media tool.

You have to hype it up; call, text, fb people/create discussion on fb events. it's a good amount of work but for melee it's worth it fashooo
