Seriously doubt it. If they were it would be a major franchise like that April fools joke or it would be multiplatform and not only the wii. Also considering a small percentage of Wii owners go onto sites like IGN then i seriously doubt its a prank.

Scroll down to the second to last post. This is starting to look more like an elaborate prank than an actual game. If IGN wanted to find out who it was they would've IP tracked the post and found out where it was coming from.
Clicking the pink dot in the blue box under the trailer brings this up.

Okay holy **** this is starting to get weird. Its a puzzle of some sorts. C.V signed in 3 weeks ago and is subscribed to Wierd Al. 3 weeks ago Al posted up an HD version of White and Nerdy. In order to view the video one must add &fmt=22 to the end. When divided by 2 you get 11. The 11th video in related lists is no other than a link to Machinima youtube channel and the video is the GhostBusters Trailer. MORE strangely this vid was also PUT UP 3 WEEKS AGO.
Holy crap looking at the code for the J_BN_POMZ_B_NBO.jpg the number 11 is in it..

I'm not sure but i think i'm getting on to something. Next week i'll go through the video 1 frame at a time to see what's going on. There are too many coincidences happening. Too many to be a prank.
Whoa. That's nice. It can't have anything to do with the Ghostbusters game though... can it? Everyone knows about that by now - I wouldn't imagine IGN to make something of this sort to precede Ghostbusters.

If this is a Ghostbuster game teaser trailer consider me the most disappointed gamer in history. If not then I can't wait to see what it turns out to be, nice when a developer takes the time to do more than release a CGI trailer. Internet hype wins.

Ehh wtf? I put GB(Ghost Busters) in a Google search and then got one related search of ISO 3166(some sort of code for countries). 3166 in Leet is Eigg which is surprisingly a real place. Huh? I think i may have picked up something of significance. Or maybe its just a gut feeling that's making me think this way.
You're probably over thinking it, remember you are not Nicholas Cage, this is not National Treasure. Heh.

Old Sherlock Holmes reasoning. When you eliminate every thing what remains must be the truth. It crossed my mind that it could be leet message seeing this game is being announced by Internet Viral Marketing and not press releases. So it was a major surprise that such a place as Eigg existed.

The theme was pretty cool, this is probably an original title rather than a sequel so I doubt anyone will recognize the theme. I haven't seen Viral Marketing like this since Cloverfield. This will either be the best game on the Wii, or Viral Marketing will trick us again. Nothing against Cloverfield though.

Nothing ever lives up the the hype. If they truly needed more people to visit their site I doubt they would have gone to the intricate measures that they did for that Commander Video. Site views= money, videos with German Actors? That costs money too, so I'm sure they are doing more then putting on an elaborate hoax for site views.

Guys mystery solved. The games a Wiiware title named Bit.Trip:Beat. Its a rhythm game but It claims to take alot of skill and what sounds like good music will turn into simple bit bleeps if you screw up horribly. Hey this might be my first Wiiware game.
Actually looks interesting. Wasn't expecting this game to be like that, in fact I may actually download when it comes out.
I'm sooo glad there are so many good wiiware games out now that nintendo no longer really cares about gamers. Way to go third parties!

So, I got this game about two days ago.
I can safely say that it is the best thing to come out on the Wii since Brawl (or if you don't like Brawl, since Metroid Prime 3). This game has done more innovation than Nintendo has in all of its Wii titles combined.
It's absolutely fantastic. Everybody with six dollars to spare needs to buy this now.
