Excluding Smash bros for obvious reasons. I obviously have to pick Goldeneye for the N64 for the sheer awesomeness of it all, the level design, and the fact that looking up and spinning around can make you jump into a ventilation shaft. Oh, and for DK mode and floating remote mines. Also, I have to pick 007: Nightfire for the fact that it really does feel like the successor to Goldeneye. There's all the gadgets and stuff, the multiplayer remote controlled choppers, turrets, and the fact you can have people AND bots. I was always partial to Red Faction 2 a bit, Battlefield Vietnam, and....some PC game like Vietnam sort of, but not. I can picture it in my head, but can't remember the name.

Edit: Oh, right. Stupidly of me for forgetting, since it was Battlefield 2.

In that ruined tower, atop a mountain.
Probably Monster Hunter. Quests took a long time, so you got to know people more. Besides, how cool is it to team with 3 friends of yours to take down massive Wyverns / Dragons?

Offline multiplayer... that's a tough one. There was Bomberman... Biker Mice... Saturday Night Slam Masters.... I don't think I could pick one.

Reviving myself.
It's amazing how much recognition Halo is getting here... I mean, I've never played it, but I understand that it's really popular for online players.

I'm sure this will change in a bit.. but for now the best multiplayer experiance I had was a party of 12 friends I know on Mario Kart Wii

Biker Mice? Oh man, that game's surprisingly good. Check it out if you like Rock 'n' Roll Racing. And Saturday Night Slam Masters is awesome for nothing but the sheer Over the Top-ness of it.

Conker's Bad Fur Day. Live & Reloaded's isn't as good b/c they took out the Raptor mode.
EDIT: Turtles in Time.
