A man broke into a creche (nursery) in Belgium, and attacked the children and teachers with a knife, stabbing several children, and killing a female teacher and 2 children, who were under 3yo.
Words really fail. My thoughts are with the families of those affected. It is unfathomable why a man would be moved to do this, and just how the affected parents must be feeling. I watched this on the news and the medical services at the scene were also clearly distraught with several of the paramedics in tears.

Police have denied the influence of alcohol or drugs or that he escaped from a psychiatric institution. He was carrying a knife, a small axe and a fake pistol at the time. He was also wearing a bullet-proof vest.
He had his face painted white, with black patches around his eyes. Media outlets have drawn a parallel to Joker from the recent The Dark Knight movie.
