Is there any way to know for sure if your tweet got through? The reason I'm asking is that I keep getting an error code when I click "tweet" to submit mine message--and I don't want Kamiya to think that I'm intentionally spamming his page. Mine laptop went kaput last month, so I've had to use mine Wii U browser.

Still could work for Bayonetta to have more stuff around. Maybe not as complex as Ryu but still do something to make her play similar as in her games.
While combo moves feel more viable, they have to be used appropriately for certain characters. There is also a recent thread that discusses Ryu's moveset to spawn more complex, but not overly complicated characters.

Before I move on, let's remember that the first technical complex combo move is Marth's side special, which debuted in Melee.

In Bayonetta series, you control a playable witch that can do up to 5 attacks in any order, with kick or punch, along with other "secondary" mechanics including transformation, air, dodge, jump, and movement.

If Bayonetta was going to be in smash and decide to make the character play close to cannon, then it would have to be reduced to 3 standard-type attack combos, not including specials, dodges, or other mechanics, depending on her state:

Each subsequent attack move in the combo system would be gradually stronger and slower.

On the ground, Bayonetta can do 3 combo using up, side, or down.
In the air, Bayonetta can do 3 combo using up, forward, and backward.

What does Bayonetta mean by, 'Pillow Talk'?
Pillow Talk is some sort of conversation about sex between two partners, commonly occurs in beds.

Anyways, I have prepared a few talks featuring ruling women of Mario Series.

Peach
Bayonetta: So this one must be the most famous girl in all of video games,
isn't it, Enzo?

Enzo: Yep, that Princess Peach. Even though she has many roles in various games,
the most famous one happens to be a damsel in distress.
Compared to you, I think that it's stupid for her to ask Bowser to
do the kidnapping.

-Bayonetta slaps Enzp's face-
OUCH! What was that for?

Bayonetta: You wouldn't want to talk like trash to your wife, do you, Enzo?
Besides, Jeanne knows a lot more about Peach than you. Scuttle off.

Enzo: Wait, what??

Jeanne: You heard the lady, SCRAM!

-Enzo runs away screaming in fear.-

Bayonetta: That bugger needs to learn better manners.

Jeanne: However, let's focus on Princess Peach, shall we?
Like the both of us, Peach fights like a really tough girl,
even when displaying the most feminine aspects
in a whimsical manner, including items from
parasols and frying pans to tiaras and high heels.

Bayonetta: Oohh, that's touchy..

Jeanne: There's more to Peach than that. She can hold up a Toad,
her loyal bodygards, to knock opponents back by their own attacks.
Also, watch out for the turnips since their damage powers depend on the faces.
If you can grab them quickly, toss them back at her to hopefully win
the food fight.
Lastly, she can float in the air for a short time after doing a jump.
Make sure to strike quickly so she can become a shooting star
to earn a free KO.

Bayonetta: I'm looking forward having plenty of cat fights.

Daisy
Bayonetta: Looks like we got another princess,
but this time in all yellow with brown hair.

Jeanne: That is Daisy. She is the princess of Sarassaland.
While she was kidnapped once, she became a much tougher player
thanks to many appearances in various Mario games.

Bayonetta: Does Daisy fight like a girl or a woman?

Jeanne: Surprisingly, she fights more like a man than Peach. Daisy is known
to be a tomboy, filled with enough energy to compete.
Her combat consist of a mixture of various Mario spinoff games
that involve sports and minigames, with a little hint of Super Mario Land.
Bayonetta: What makes Daisy more threatening than Peach if she does not
fight like a girl?

Jeanne: Oh, She fights like one too. We have to be careful not to get hit
by flowers or crystals, since they are Daisy's most powerful
elements that can earn her a few KO's by dealing high damage
against her opponents.

Bayonetta: Well then, I ought to challenge Daisy to a dance-off
whenever I get a chance.

Enzo: Wait... What did I miss?

Jeanne: The whole talk about Daisy. I do hope you learned your lesson
form last time about respecting girls.

Enzo: I swear to lord, I'll talk better without getting my lips all
slipped up.

Bayonetta: Really, Enzo?

Rosalina
Enzo's hat suddenly hops in the air and then falls back down when Enzo says "hello"
Enzo: Hello! I'm really starting to dig into the Queen of the cosmos Rosalina!

Bayonetta: Is it because of her baby-smooth face with lovely lips?

Enzo: Uh-- No-no-no-no! Not that! It's really -uhh- because she summons
Lumas as her personal guards. Yeah that's it.
Bayonetta: I stand corrected.

Enzo: While Rosalina is the real target you're after, The Luma attacks
in sync with the queen. Her luma can also be launched forward and back
to give her opportunities to deal more damage to easily score a K.O.
If you manage to take out a Luma, she is more open to attacks,
despite that she can defend herself without one. Rosalina's powers makes me
want to hang out with her as much as you two.

Bayonetta: I hope you're really sincere about that.

Jeanne: Well, you seem to do better. I hope you can better get along with
us even when we help you kindly as needed.

Enzo: Well, at least I am thankful for both of you that I always end up
in one piece when dragged throughout your miss-adventures. Ha-ha-ha-ha!

It seems like you want to get something going, a new topic I guess. I'm going to post a Bayonetta article in Source Gaming soon. I don't know what else we can discuss TBH.

And they say Bayonetta w/o stripping at all is too much.
Is it me, or is Samus disappointed since she's tired of all the sexualization arguments about her?

I guess I'm still stuck on that wild reaction to a certain PotD (especially how the Tumblroids felt).

Today, I managed to whip up a few more talks, but with Kirby characters

Kirby
Bayonetta: Who is this lovely creature that happens to be round and pink?

Luka: That is Kirby, the resident of Popstar and hero of Dreamland. This
fighter is known for posessing copy abilities, especially from
opponents like you.

Bayonetta: Me? The only thing that Kirby can copy is my witch guns
that do nothing more than shooting.

Luka: Well, Kirby can also pack a lot more copy abilities
from its enemies throughout the games and translate them
into various attacks. Cutter allows Kirby to jump up high
and finish by landing the blade to the ground. Hammer grants
Kirby the power to whack foes with deent range. Stone gives Kirby
the chance to pound foes from above and send them high if it hits
the opponent. However, you can easily make Kirby a shooting star
from strong attacks since this fighter is quite light in weight.

Bayonetta: Well, this one plays rough like a monster,
despite looking all soft and cuddly.

Luka: That is pretty much how you can best describe Kirby.

Metaknight
Bayonetta: Don't tell me that there is a ****** who likes to
flail with sharp blade.

Luka: Don't be too quick to judge, Bayonetta. That is Metaknight,
a skilled swordsman that likes to challenge Kirby throughout
the adventures.

Bayonetta: How does Metaknight fight skillfully then?

Luka: Metaknight masters the art of swordplay through very quick swipes,
effective as a damage builder. He can also use the sword to perform
a drilling attack, if you notice the design of Metaknight's sword.
In addition, he can also use his cape for limited flight
or cloak himself to perform a surprise attack. Despite being smaller
than expected, he has quite nimble movement. Howeever, like Kirby,
you can launch him off the stage by performing strong attacks,
such as your wicked weaves or your end-combo attacks.

Bayonetta: Hmm..
This fight is going to be more interesting than I thought.

King Dedede
Bayonetta: Let me guess, another heavyweight who claims to be a king?

Rodin: Bingo! This big penguin is King Dedede. He was once Kirby's
big rival before he settled with Kirby's constant presence. However,
I'm not so sure if I feel like talking about him.

Luka: Let me guess: he's too friendly towards Kirby, eh Rodin?

Rodin: I'll let you know that I was the most honest angel in Paradiso
before the light bearers turned their backs on humanity and sent me
down to Inferno. Since Dedede is more like an anti-hero, this devil
would be better with giving the details.

Luka: Fine, have it your way then....

Rodin: Dedede's weapon of choice is the hammer; he can perform very powerful
attacks with it, but requires little bit of timing to achieve it. Like Kirby,
he can also float like a baloon and suck up foes, but he can only spit them out.
The king also make a surprise attack known as Super Dedede Jump, which also
acts as a recovery move. Finally, he can launch a spikey gordo
to deal heavy damage, but he has to act fast with his hammer if that gets
reflected by another fighter.

Bayonetta: I cannot wait to use this chubby king as a new pillow since I
need to make my bed more comfortable for guests when they lay down
with me.

Rodin: Good luck with that since this king needs a lot of beating before
it can become squishy.

The King Dedede one was quite challenging to pull off since I wanted to use wordplay involving Bayonetta's character treating Dedede as a pillow.

Still waiting for Kamiya to reply to me. The first tweet I sent was "I REALLY liked Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta 1&2, and W101, and I look forward to Starfox O. Platinum Games is VERY unique." He replied with a happy face. Then I asked, "Would you ever be interested in developing the next Kid Icarus? I think you would do an excellent job." I've yet to recieve a response.

[Shrugs] On the other hand, since it's public, I could understand why he wouldn't respond. Fans are insane, and rumours are like a plague; you better tripple-bag them or they're going to spread. I guess the fact alone that he didn't block me on the spot at least means I didn't brass him off.

Interviewer: If Heihachi was included, I start to imagine that one of his palette swaps would have been him in his fundoshi [1] (laughs).

Sakurai: If we did that, we’d end getting in trouble with CERO [2] again (laughs).

1. Heihachi wears the fundoshi in Tekken 4. It also appears in Tekken 6. A fundoshi is a traditional sumo loincloth.

2. CERO is the ratings board for video games in Japan.
Yeah, this truly confirms that he's not going to change the rating at all. So the only option is to not strip at all. And again this is only one layer of what makes her great, the real question is whether or not the lack of stripping is really a problem. Personally I don't think it is. If she got rid of it, there would still be a load of other things that would still make her Bayonetta.

Also important to note:
How should I bring out the character’s personality? How should I make them move? Can I devise a consistent, comprehensive style for them? What techniques can I come up with to help them stand out from the other fighters? Moreover, do those techniques fit the character and their original game? And, above all, can I make the character fun to play? If I just slap together a moveset, that character wouldn’t be very enjoyable. Conversely, on a big project like this one, there isn’t a lot of time allotted for trial and error when creating characters. I decided on nearly all the types of newcomers I wanted to include at the time of the game’s conception. Pac-Man was of course also present in the game’s incipient stages.

During the initial design process, I thought long and hard about a number of things, but the most important thing was that I developed an idea of Smash in my mind and made sure not to stray too far from that concept. Should complications arise during development, I take the ideas I came up with during the initial planning stages, compare them with what is feasible at present, and endeavor to come up with the best possible solution. This doesn’t mean taking the middle road with a simple compromise; I come up with a design that fits the current situation while doing my best to preserve the original concept I had in mind. I’ve found that this is an effective means of problem solving for me–and one that might also be applicable for many other kinds of professions.
As long as she doesn't stray away from the concept too far. Stripping is like 10% of what makes Bayonetta Bayonetta. He's going to definitely try his best to keep her in tact and find what works.

As long as she still has Bayonetta's sass I don't really think the lack of stripping will be an issue whatsoever

From Day 1 I was like 'no stripping'.

It's the only perfect solution that isn't hard to do in the first place.

There's stripping and stripping.

We can't have Heihachi in Fundoshi BUT we can get the Monado Boy famous short.
I often hate to compare ZSS and Bayonetta, but ZSS can have her shorts too.

We also can have Barbara's boobs in the 3DS trophy gallery or Wonder Pink / Peach & Daisy tennis' outfits panty shot.

Just tweak her "bikini mode" to look show as much as her "various A" costume from the first game and it show less than ZSS.

And for the final Smash, I'll keep saying that she should have a cinematic like Falcon or Shulk. Just make her not appear during the cinematic (a summon of course), and you get rid of the naked problem!

And if it's the umbran Climax, it's still the "bikini mode" problem.

Well I have no problems with them not including stripping. After all, she doesnt strip in her alt costumes in the Bayo games, so I see nothing wrong with moving that to her default costume.

It would be cool if one of Bayonetta's victory poses involved the motor bike from the first game.
Bayonetta's_Motor.png

That would be awesome! Or jump into a coffin, then jump out screaming: 'MORNING!!!!' just cos I loved that part near the very end. :D

I think maybe it would be wise to include one music peice from her anime Bloody Fate into smash. Maybe this one.
Quite nice and would contrast the other fast paced music.
Rosalind supporter hasn't been here in a while, do you think someone else should take over the OP?
It hasn't updated in a long time.
We can alternatively get a mod to stick stuff in for us. I PM him on June 7th. According to the profile, was last seen April 18th. According to him I'm like, the next in line.

I like arguing for Bayonetta. :D

Though usually I see those that don't want her just liking the against arguements, even if mine are superior. :p

Honestly I don't see the problem with Bayonetta's guns.

They are unrealisticly colourful, ornamental and not to mention HUGE with HUGE bullets.

I have to agree, I mean look at these things:
I mean I am not one for guns in videogames unless it fits the setting, however I don't see these as guns. To me these are simply works of art, and good lord the names~

The name of the set is Love Is Blue, which is a reference to a song of the same name, just like Bayonettas guns from the first game, Scarborough Fair. And as the guns share a name as a set, each gun is also individually named, referencing lyrics from the song the set name is based off of.

Blue, blue, my world is blue
Blue is my world now I’m without you
Gray', gray, my life is gray

'Cold is my heart since you went away

Red, red, my eyes are red
Crying for you alone in my bed
Green, green, my jealous heart
I doubted you and now we’re apart

CHORUS:
When we met how the bright sun shone
Then love died, now the rainbow is gone

Black, black, the nights I've known
Longing for you so lost and alone
Gone, gone, the love we knew
Blue is my world now I’m without you.

Repeat CHORUS

Black, black, the nights I've known
Longing for you so lost and alone
Blue, blue, my world is blue
Blue is my world now I’m without you
Individual Gun Names
  • The gun with the Red teardrop-shaped gem on her right-hand. Engraved is "Eye of the Overseer"
  • The gun with the Grey oval-shaped gem on her left-hand. "An Endless Life"
  • The gun with the Black diamond-shaped gem on her right-heel. "The Darkest Night"
  • The gun with the Green rectangle-shaped gem on her left-heel. "A Jealous Lover"
These things are a work of art, deadly weapons yes, but still f'ing beautiful.

YAS!

But yeah I posted a thought on Twitter that was essentially:

If Bayonetta got into SSB4, they could release Mii fighter costumes based off Bayonetta characters.
  • Balder costume for Mii Swordfighters. Along with two head accessories to chose from: Balders Wig and Monicle, or Lumen Mask.
  • Rodin costume for Mii Brawlers. Along with a head accessory that gives Mii's rodin's signatue bald head tattoo, as well as his sunglasses.
  • Loki costume for Mii gunners. Along with two head accessories to chose from: His hoodie down with his goggles on the wearers head, or his hoodie up with his goggles over the Mii's eyes.

So out of boredom, I compiled a series of .gifs to represent what I think would make an effective move set for Bayonetta, if she gets into SSB4 as DLC. I figure, if Mewtwo can get in as DLC, then so can other characters as well. It was something I made for a group on tumblr, but I feel like cross posting it.

But not just her, I also imagine that with her would come possible stage DLC, music to play on said stage, and maybe even assist trophies. So this post is not only how I imagine Bayonetta her self would play, but also list possible, music, items, and assist characters who might come along with this special "Bayonetta Pack".

First off, the Bayonetta Universe symbol, like the Zelda universe having the Triforce, and the Mario universe being the Mushroom, I feel the only suitable symbol for the Bayonetta Universe is the Umbran Witch Insignia.

COSTUMES
For costumes, I wanted to do something similar to Bowser Jr., instead of simple re-colors, each of her eight outfits are full on alternate costumes. The last three having her take on the appearance of other characters, again like Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings.

  • Blue: Bayonetta's default outfit from the second game.
  • White: The outfit Bayonetta wears in the second games prologue sequence.
  • Red: Bayonetta's default outfit from the first game.
  • White: The outfit Bayonetta wears in the first games prologue sequence.
  • Black: Bayonetta's outfit from 500 years ago, seen in flash back sequences in both games.
  • Jeanne/Red: Costume that has Bayonetta replaced with her friend Jeanne. Includes voice clip changes.
  • Rosa/Orange: Costume that has Bayonetta replaced with her mother Rosa. Includes voice clip changes.
  • Umbran Apprentice/Brown: Costume that has Bayonetta replaced with the appearance of an Umbran Witch Apprentice.
MOVE SET
First off, Moveset for the Wonderful Witch her self. Rather than giving her different attacks based off her various weapons, I feel all of her attacks, outside of Animal Transformations, should focus on what she can use with just her guns.

Yes she is a capable fighter with any weapon, but since her guns are her most iconic weapon, I feel they should be the only ones she’d use in her smash bros appearance. Note if the move she performs in a .gif has a name, it will be listed. If it doesn’t, a name describing the ability will be listed instead.

Note: as a Special Gimmick, when attacking with her standard attacks, holding down the attack button after pressing it will cause her to shoot magical bullets, just like in the Bayonetta series.

SPECIALS
  • Neutral Special: Charge Bullet

    • Default:
Charge energy to fire several rapid fire shots.
    • Variation 1: Charges a massive orb of magic energy in her gun then fires it. Functions similarly to Samus’s Charge Shot.
    • Variation 2: Instantly rapid fire small magic orbs from her gun. Functions similarly to Palutena’s Autoreticle.

  • Side Special: Panther Within

    • Default:
Transforms into a panther and dashes forward at double standard speed. Press the button again to perform a slashing claw attack.
    • Variation 1: Transforms into a panther and dashes forward at triple standard speed. Transformation lasts only a short period of time, no slash attack.
    • Variation 2: Transforms into a panther and dashes a short distance before performing a powerful slash attack.

  • Up Special: Crow Within

    • Default:
Transforms into a crow and gains height as if from a 3rd jump. She will slowly descent while in crow form, and players are able to maneuver her as she descends. Functions similarly to Palutena’s Jump Glide.
    • Variation 1: Transforms into a crow and feather darts will float around her forming a damaging shield as she descends. Functions similarly to Megaman’s Lief Shield.
    • Variation 2: Transforms into a crow and darts in player generated direction. Functions similarly to Pikachu’s Quick Attack.

  • Down Special: Witch Time

    • Default: Strikes a pose, and if struck, Bayonetta will both counter the attack and the enemies movement will slow down if the attack hits, as if under the effect of the Timer item, for a short period of time.
    • Variation 1: Strikes a pose, and if struck, Bayonetta will vanish then appear behind opponent and perform a meteor smash on the enemy from behind. Functions similarly to Lucario’s Double Team.
    • Variation 2: Strikes a pose, and gains a temporary boost in movement and attack speed, at the cost of strength.
STANDARD
  • Jab Attack: Standard Punch Combo
  • Dash Attack: Stiletto
  • Ledge Recovery Attack: Arching Heel Stomp
  • Ground Recovery Attack: Rising Spin Kick
Tilt Attacks
  • Forward Tilt: Tetsuzanko
  • Up Tilt: High Kick
  • Down Tilt: Sweeping Spin Kick
Smash Attacks
  • Side Smash: Straight Punch Wicked Weave
  • Up Smash: Uppercut Punch Wicked Weave
  • Down Smash: Stomping Heel Wicked Weave
Aerial Attacks
  • Neutral Aerial: Rotating Heel Gun Kick
  • Forward Aerial: After Burner Kick
  • Back Aerial: Three-Hit Kick Combo
  • Up Aerial: Witch Strike
  • Down Aerial: Long Fall Heel Drop
Throws

    (a.k.a.”Bayonetta Smash!”)
  • Forward Throw: Spin and Throw Torture Attack
  • Up Throw: Air Bear Trap Torture Attack
  • Back Throw: Iron Maiden Torture Attack
  • Down Throw: Anarchy Reigns Heel Confetti Stomp
Misc
  • Dodge Animation: Bat Within Technique
Final Smash
Infernal Demon Summon: Omne The Controller of Creation
MUSIC
Music is a big part of the Smash Bros. series, so with the inclusion of a DLC Character whos series has no representation till their inclusion, music and stages will obviously be part of the DLC. There will be two categories, music that will be on both the 3DS and Wii U version, and music exclusive to the Wii U version.

Music in both SSB4-3DS/Wii U
Music exclusive to SSB4-Wii U
Misc
ASSIST TROPHY
Assist Trophies have become an essential in terms of items of the Smash Bros. series. So here I’m going to list off Bayonetta characters whom I think would make great Assist Trophies to represent the Bayonetta Universe.

Balder

The Biological Father of Bayonetta, and her rival in the second game. As an Assist Trophy, he will attack with his weapon, the Holy Glaive, in conjunction with powerful magics. He will function similarly to Ghirahim and Phosphora, teleporting and performing various different attacks.
