HOW TO POST AN IMAGE!!

Posting an image on Smashboards is a simple, easy, and enjoyable process to all posters. Want to emphasize your post? Put in an image, it'll make giggles and wonders from others. In this post, I'll discuss the official and easy process of putting an image on YOUR POST!

We will first discuss uploading a picture from Photobucket, easily the best way to upload.

Step 1) Find an image you like. This part is very easy. Type in key word(s) in the search bar. A page will open showing about 20 pictures that relate to your search term. Once you find a pic you like, click directly on that pic.

Step 2) This part is crucial. A page will load up, showing the name of the user who uploaded the pic originally, the name of the file, and Exif Data. Don't click Exif Data, it just shows the alternative info on your file (when it was uploaded, file space, etc.) But ignore all that, because you will just want to click the picture directly again.

Step 3) Wait for the page to load. Once finished loading, you'll see a list of the user's other pics that he/she has uploaded. Scroll down if you have to until you find the pic you originally clicked on.

Step 4) This is the most important part to uploading. 3 bars sit under the picture: URL, TAG, and IMG. When posting a pic on Smashboards, never use TAG, it doesn't work. Highlight the URL, right click, and click COPY. The URL is now remebered as temporary memory.

Step 5) Open the window to Smashboards. Don't Quick Reply, because there's a special little button in Add Reply. One in the type window of the Add Reply screen, you'll see a small yellow icon with a mountain and a circle near the top of the window.

Step 6) EXPLORER USER PROMPT window will load near the top-left corner of your screen. push backspace once to get rid of http://, then right click in the type-part of the window and push paster. your URL will be pasted as an IMG code. Push OK, then push Submit Reply.

EXAMPLES OF THE TYPES OF PIC METHODS

URL (instructions followed):

URL (by itself): http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l97/corkinsa/transformers.jpg

TAG: <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l97/corkinsa/transformers.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a> DON'T USE THIS!!

Questions:

You: Why don't I just copy/paste an IMG code instead of the URL process?
Me: You can, but it sometimes won't work. Then you have the frustration of editing your post. Just follow the directions.

You: Does my upload have to be from Photobucket or another pic-sharing site?
Me: No, but I reccomend it. If you find a pic you really like on some random page on the internet, do this: Right click the image, then scroll down to properties. A seperate window will open, showing a bunch of information. Copy the code next to Address (URL), then upload your image like you normally would. But, as I said before, sometimes this won't work and you have the frustration of editing your post again.

You: Do I need an account to upload pics from Photobucket?
Me: No. An account only allows you to upload pics ON Photobucket, not FROM it.

Now post your **** pics!
