Before Blocked Content became LaxChris 2.0, he actually used to make entertaining Smash vids such as Codecs, music videos etc.

This is sad, the only reason I’m still subscribed to him is so he’ll eventually go back to those type of vids.

People barely remember this, but back during the Grinch Leak he made a video with Artsy Omni about it, where the latter gave several good points about how it could be faked, instead of the same "too blurry" thing that everyone was parroting.

It was one of the few legitimately good sources on the topic at the time, considering how tribalistic everyone got.

I guess this new style must be really paying off for Blocked, somehow.

Though I still think the guy gets way more **** than necessary for his clickbait. People don't seem to realise the more they harass him on his channel, the less likely he is to return to his old entertaining videos, I think.

So, outside of this thread, what is the opinion of Banjo as of now in regards to his chances? Are people warming up to him? Are they skeptical of him? or are still on the Steve and Erdrick camp?

I think as soon as Verge and Gamexplain both doubled down on Banjo, a LOT of people reassessed their thoughts, but I could be wrong.

Not well in afraid. Most of /V/ has turned on them with a few small pockets holding out, at least that is what I see. Naturally some just want this war to end so it's not swarmed with Banjo/ Steve threads.

Since we are getting so many people watching this thread can I at least take a moment to shill a show that's been near and dear to my heart?

This show has been around since 2000, the same time that Banjo and Kazooie were still on the Nintendo 64! All the episodes of the old show are on youtube, but now the series has been rebooted (just like banjo and Kazooie will be in a few days) and is currently on it's 4th season! Please, I implore you all to catch the show, Fridays at 7pm Central time on Discovery channel! It may not have Weldar in it, but it has the next best thing, a robot that can kill you while on its own head!

Haven't posted since before the games release but as a life long Banjo-Kazooie fan I just wanted to chime in on the hype train. Really hoping this turns out good but, as a life long fan, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic.

There's a good chance this grown man will shed some tears if the duo gets revealed. New game, remasters or DLC. I'll take anything at this point!

People WILL make that mistake again, unfortunately. I myself made that mistake after the August Direct, thinking that Geno and Isaac were likelier than ever and that Shadow had nothing that could take him down.

Honestly this is making me remiscinent of Smash 4 DLC speculation. After the return of my beloved Mewtwo, Lucas and Roy, nothing came close to my hype for those 3 (not even Cloud, shock aside) I think the same will happen in this game after Banjo. Hell im pretty sure that the last character for DLC (or at least Fighter Pass 1) is gonna be a heated and very divisve character reveal on the same level as Bayo in Smash 4 DLC or PP in Ultimate, probably even more so (something like another FE character comes to mind)

Banjo might as well be the only character that i will invest on, and will all go Downward Spiral after that (for the record i don't think Erdrick is gonna be that underwhelming, so for that reason i see him as the 3rd character instead of the 4th or 5th if he's confirmed)

I'll be honest, prior to GameXplain joining in, I thought Steve was more likely, simply because Minecraft is such a huge deal for a lot of people. With this, however, I've more-or-less given up on Steve, unless A) we get a second Fighters Pass, or B) Steve is coming and Banjo is actually an alt, thus killing the internet. Don't worry, the former is more likely.

Found a stubbins at my local GameStop today. :D couldn’t resist picking it up as a companion to accompany me on the hype train. The employee at the register commented on it, and I mentioned hoping he’d be joining smash.

Proceeded to ask me who made Banjo-Kazooie and what company owned them. Which turned into a no Microsoft/American made character is getting into smash as dlc, especially a third party. Followed by how high of a chance Steve has of getting in rant; and how much he loves and expects Steve. past the irony the dude was nice and I enjoyed chatting about smash and most wanted characters.

Look forward to experiencing next week with you all. Banjo or no, I’m expecting an awesome E3. ^^

As sad as it may be to realize that nothing will ever come close to this hype, one can take joy in that Banjo will be seen as one of Smash highlights IF he's announced. To think that a character that people laughed would be seen as the talk of the town and the most hype inducing character since K.Rool is something to be happy about, no dobut.

I would love to see Heihachi make it in Smash. If his final smash is him dramatically dropping his opponent into a volcano I might lose it.

I'm going to make an early prediction if Banjo-Kazooie and Erdrick get revealed for Ultimate on Tuesday, but just for the Mii costume sets.

Banjo & Kazooie's Fighter Pass:
- Rash Mii Brawler
- Steve, Mumbo, or Spinal Mii Swordfighter
- Jetforce Gemini character or Master Chief Mii Gunner

Erdrick's Fighter Pass:
- Chocobo Hat returning as a Mii costume
- Tifa Mii Brawler (please squareenix)
- Crono, DQ 11's Luminary, Sephiroth (sword sized down of course), or Sora (if Sora is revealed then Erdrick could be a costume)
- Geno returning as a costume
- Barret Mii Gunner (pretty please)

Yeah the smash newcomer cycle is like a parabola in terms of hype. The most exciting characters are around the middle and then less exciting ones are near the end. Like in Smash 4 DLC, Cloud was the high point, and the soon after we got Corrin. I expect Banjo to be the high point of this pass. The rest of the characters aren’t probably going to be as hype inducing.

I believe that there was also a shield stat where the model stuck forward out a bit while defending. Many assume it was Erdrick raising his shield. But what if the shielding stance was Kazooie wrapping her wings around Banjo, like the wonderwing invincibility move?

Difference is that the Fighters Pass was revealed in November last year, and Joker was announced at the Video Game Awards in December. In comparison, between then and E3, leakers had more than enough time to figure out that Banjo-Kazooie could possibly be revealed for the Fighters Pass.
