It's more commonly associated with Magolor but it could work for Bandana Dee I guess.

Maybe this instead? I've always associated Cookie Country with Bandana Dee, but that's probably just me.

Today is Music Monday. Our first piece goes out to what would undoubtedly be one of the first choices of music used for Bandana Waddle Dee's trailer.

Boss Medley transitioning into the Main Theme for Return to Dreamland? That's how I pictured it.

Perhaps you could try you hand at a short tale which ends on a cliffhanger requiring Bandana Waddle Dee to join the rest of the Kirby quartet in Smash, and finish it up with a slogan or a line about where and why to vote for him?


Two suggestions;

1: The theme from Megaton Punch, since that was where Bandana Waddle Dee debuted.

2: The Masked Dedede theme from Revenge of the King, in Kirby Super Star Ultra, as that's where BWD got his first major role, and was set in stone as Dedede's right-hand man and a main character who has appeared ever since.

By the way, I started the story. It's coming along GREATLY-ISH. You all are going to love it. Trust me.

You should have a listen to the version from Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe. It is absolutely fantastic. (As I haven't yet gotten around to playing Kirby's Return to Dream Land, this is actually the first version I ever heard, though I have since listened to the original and I love that, too.)

You know, I'm actually wondering about this... Since the Wii U version will be getting the Miiverse stage as a free extra, maybe the 3DS version might get Dream Land 64 (as previously uncovered when the most recent patch was data-mined) as an equivalent?

I'd be disappointed, as I've never found Knuckle Joe himself particularly interesting, personally.

That said, he's an Assist Trophy, so he probably wouldn't make it into this game, anyway.

It'd ironically be even worse than the "Goomba with a hat" argument considering that Knuckle Joe is just a Knuckle Joe no matter how you spin it.

Besides that, we already have Ryu on the way and Mii Brawler in the game. Knuckle Joe offers literally nothing to the table, especially compared to BWD.

Nah, Sailor Waddle Dee is one of Meta Knight's, and he aided Meta Knight in his attempt to overthrow Dedede. That's treason, and we won't sand for it!

Whoah, you're right! I always forget that one, as it was never released in the UK. (We didn't get Kirby's Fun Pak until January of 1997 - it was one of the final overall SNES titles that made it to us.)

That said, there have been more references to Kirby 64, and they've even set things up for asset re-use by having Dedede's look in Triple Deluxe be a modernised reworking of his Kirby 64 design (which is strange in a game that otherwise shares its visual style with Return to Dream Land!).

There have been a few references to the animal friends too, though - just less of them. I wonder... Dark Matter saga remakes twin/triple pack, maybe?

Current merchandise in Japan has the Kirby Quartet together, though. The art-style has yet to be used to promote a game (and there is a notable absence of bandana, which may indeed point to Kirby 64's Waddle Dee being the very same guy). I'm honestly expecting a new home-console title, too, given this.

My reasoning is that there's a real ominous, nightmarish vibe to it that's the anti-thesis of everything that the heroes stand for, and the whole saga just gave the impression of something bigger and more overarching than any one-shot villain can pull off. The Kirby series is very good at the whole light/dark balance in plot - just look at Triple Deluxe for a good recent showing of this - and the whole Dark Matter thing is the archetypal example.

And of course, the notion of Nightmare returning as well, alongside this, could make for some epic games.
