I just Up Tilted a Robin in Sudden Death as Ganondorf. What is life.

Also, how many DLC characters/modes/stages do you think will be announced at E3, and does anybody else think Lucas will be available directly after Nintendo's E3 presentation?
I expect Ryu and Roy to be revealed, as well as an Adventure Mode and a few new stages.

Now it feels complete.
:joyful:

EDIT I'm a bit busy, I'm not playing very much recently. Maybe sometimes I will play with you.
HYES!!!

As I said in the Geno thread, I think it depends on the appeal of Smash in the future. If they sell, they will make more of them. I can see from 5 up to 10 DLC characters, but maybe more, who knows.

Also, if double releases will be a thing (i mean, K Rool and Dixie, Wolf and Krystal... like Robin and Lucina) I wouldn't mind supporting both Adeleine and Bandana Dee... but only in that case :p

The true final boss of the Kirby mythos.

As much as I love Marx, Magolor, Dark Matter and Nightmare, they ain't got **** on Buffdana Dee.

It took me longer than I am willing to admit to notice Cap up there.

So I've been doing some research, and I came across several people having the idea of Bandana Dee riding Rick as a fighter, kind of like a duo.

Huh, um... Thoughts???

Never thought of it. Sounds interesting, but I want Bandana Dee as a single character.

Mandana Dee.
Mandana Dee, real final boss of Megaton punch

That name actually reminds me of this xD

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!
Rick was by far my favorite of the animal friends :drohyou:
But, he and BD doesn't share a lot of story together so I don't think it would make any sense :drsad:
Maybe Rick could work as a stage hazard or as an Assist trophy

Hmmmm. I don't think that would happen. Maybe Rick could be a stage character, like Nabbit. The player could ride him like in Dreamland 3. You can go faster, but you are only limited to Melee attacks. Maybe on the Dreamland 64 stage...

Same! It's sound very interesting but... If Bandana Dee got in I'd personally want him to take the entire spotlight he deserves! :) I'd think this concept would work better as Rick either being an assist trophy, part of a final smash, or even part of the stage (hazard?).

Rick has always been a fan favorite protagonist of the Kirby series for me, so it would be great if he got some kind of nice spot in the game. But, Bandana Dee does deserves to get in over any other character in the Kirby series (to complete the main 4). First, Bandana Dee takes place as the next Kirby fighter in Smash, then... THE WORLD (of Popstar)!

How would work a Final Smash with Rick? :awesome:

Bandana Dee: Rick!!!
Rick: On my mark!!!
*proceeds to make the attack*
Both: WE'RE NOT DONE YET!!!

I think the animals are impossible to transform into a fighters. Even if they deserve a lot to be in, they have been in many games and they continue even today to be in new Kirby games (even with very minor roles) they are not suited for Smash. Imagine a Sega smash bros. Ecco the Dolphin is a Sega classic; how would you make him a playable character? It's kinda the same thing.
The animals are a trio, you can't get just one of them, they are iconic as a trio. There are 6 animals, but the other 3 only appeared in one game and aren't very relevant (even if I'd like to see them make some sort of cameo some day). One of the animals, is a fish and in Smash there are very few stages with water. At the end you would only use Coo and Rick all the time...
There is the ice climbers problem, even worse because they are three...
Maybe there's a way, but it would be very forced. I think it would be better to have them as assist trophies, like in that stage of Kirby Fighters (I hope they will add more assist trophies with updates or as DLCs in the future).
Or Gooey using the animals as special moves? It still feels forced to me.

Anyway:

I read somewhere that initially the animals were planned to be a four legged tank instead, but after the presentation of the concept, the idea was scrapped because it was unfitting. I think that it would be fitting for Kirby to ride a mech now, Kirby games are full of crazy things, Kirby can do anything, there are no limits. Anyway I'm glad they replaced the tank with the animals, they are awesome.
I think that the shoe in KRTD is an attempt to make Rick; it controls in a similar way, when you jump on enemies; maybe the animals were planned to be in the game at some point in the development, who knows.

It would be interesting to see Twinkle Popopo riding a four legged tank though XD

I personally don't think we need a 5th Kirby rep because we're over doing it now. As of right now BD is the 4th main character in the series lately. No other character has had the same resurgence other than the characters already in Smash.

Kirby getting a new rep with BD will be satisfactory for now imo for the new gen of smash games. Another franchise that really could use a rep should get one instead of Kirby getting a 5th.

That franchise is Donkey Kong. DK deserves a new rep.

I don't want :p I'd rather have Kirby Air Ride 2 on the Wii U.
Speaking of Kirby Air Ride 2 & Spin-offs...

Is Kirby Air Ride the most popular Kirby spin-off of all time? Here's all the Kirby Spin-Offs as of now:

-Kirby's Pinball Land (1993)
-
Kirby's Dream Course (1994)
-
Kirby's Avalanche (1995)
-
Kirby's Block Ball (1995)
-
Kirby's Star Stacker (1997)
-
Kirby Tilt N' Tumble (2000)
-
Kirby Air Ride (2003)
-
Kirby Canvas Curse (2005)
-
Kirby's Epic Yarn (2007)
-
Kirby Mass Attack (2011)
-
Kirby And The Rainbow Curse (2015)

(My personal favorites are - Kirby's Avalanche, Kirby Tilt n' Tumble, Kirby Canvas Curse, Kirby Air Ride, and I really liked Kirby Mass Attack). (Note: I have yet to 100% Kirby And The Rainbow Curse, busy times)!

To still keep on topic, I'm glad Bandana Dee got a big role in Rainbow Curse! :)

For me it's Kirby's Pinball, Kirby's Block Ball, Kirby's Mass Attack, and Kirby's Canvas Curse.

Mass Attack is probably my favorite...

Just curious, what are your guys top 3 favorite and least favorite Kirby games? They tend to be all over the place, adored by many but despised by many as well.

Here's mine:
Favorite:
1) Kirby and the Amazing Mirror: My first kirby game and still my favorite of them all. From the exploration, collecting, and the maze feel, it was a blast trying to find where to go exploring new areas along the way. The areas are unique and creative, and I loved the ability selection of the game.
2) Kirby's Return to Dreamland: When my beloved Bandana Dee became a thing<3 The multiplayer was an amazing experience, each world had a very nice feel to it. Also added back Copy Ability movesets, adding a ton more skill to the game. Amazing music, and don't even get me started on the bosses.
3) Kirby Triple Deluxe: The most creative and unique level design in any kirby game I've played. The game is very well polished and it felt just like smash to me with the rolling mechanic and movesets, not to mention Kirby Fighters. This was a blast to go through and collecting all the keychains.
Honorable Mentions: Superstar Ultra, Epic Yarn

Least:
1) Kirby Squeak Squad: A very forgettable game to me, I don't even remember playing it. The areas were really bland, music was underwhelming, bosses were pretty meh for the most part. Only part I like of the game is Daroach, one of my favorite kirby characters.
2) Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards: Kirby 64 was a fun game overall, it was a joy to see what I would get after combining abilities. Though the incredibly slow pace is what held me back for the most part, it was such a hassle for me to complete a level.
3) Kirby and the Rainbow Curse: It pains me to put this here but Rainbow Curse felt very bland to me. The multiplayer felt very forced, only put in for the sake of multiplayer. Gamepad only is a huge turnoff as well. It didn't give me much motivation to explore around the levels, all I wanted was to just complete the game. The bosses were very uncreative and I don't like the fact they were reused. The selling point to me though was it's stellar soundtrack, easily the best of the series for me.

Yes, my favorite Kirby game is a spinoff ¬¬
I don't know about you but personally I loved the gameplay, the playable characters, the music, everything
It was so beautiful :awesome:

2) Kirby Super Star Ultra
Freakin' DUH!!

3) Kirby Triple Deluxe
Moonstruck Blossom
Good level design
Dedede's drum drash
The keychains
'nruff said :dr^_^:

Least favorite:
I actually love every kirby game I have played so I'll just say the anime :awesome:
Does that count? XD

Oh!
I'm actually doing a Kirby Relevance chart that I'll post some time later :drflip:

That franchise is Donkey Kong. DK deserves a new rep.
Fire Emblem has 4 characters and they are probably getting Roy too, reaching 5 characters.

I personally would be fine with 4 Kirby rep. but since Bandana Dee is not one of my favorites, I wouldn't be satisfied if he is the 4th, and if that's the case, I'd pretend more (especially after the Fire Emblem flood).

The animals (though they are impossible or almost to adapt), the artist, and the final boss are the important elements of the series that aren currently not represented yet, and that may potentially have a fighter to represent them. Then, there are some important side characters too, the most notable, Chef Kawasaki, that's a very recurring one.
Saying that Kirby is over doing is not true, maybe you don't like those characters, but the potential of having more Kirby characters is there.

There are lots of franchises that need a rep, Metroid, Starfox, DK, and several new entries like Rhythm Heaven; this is unrelated with the number of Kirby characters that deserve to be in Smash though, especially since none of them are confirmed yet.

Also, being a Kirby fan, I would be happy if my favorite would get in, and even after, if I get more Kirby characters, the more the better. Sakurai said that he will make as many fighters as he can, it's just a matter of time; if smash dlcs will get enough support and people will buy them, he could go ahead even for a couple of years or more, and in that time I'm sure that a lot of fighters will be able to join the party.

I'm doing a list of favorites and least favorites too, though, I will exclude the not-traditional spin-offs (traditional spin-offs based on platforming will remain, like Canvas and Rainbow Curse, or Epic Yarn)

I haven't played Rainbow Curse yet, so I won't put it in the chart.

I would like to say that anyway I like all those games, even the ones at the bottom of the chart.

Favorites (1 best):
1-Kirby's Dreamland 3
I got it on WiiU some months ago, and I'm playing it constantly; each time, I discover something new. I love this game more than any other game I ever played, and I think I may be the person who loves this game the most in the world.
2-Kirby Canvas Curse
This game is very creative. The first time I played it, I was a bit confused and I didn't like it too much... but after a couple of levels, I mastered the controls and I noticed that you can do the exact same things that you do in any other Kirby game, just with a different gameplay. It feelt fresh and innovative, other than extremely fun.
3-Kirby Triple Deluxe
This game is slowly climbing the chart, I think that there is the possibility that one day I will place this above Canvas Curse.
Its only flaw is the difficulty level, that's too low (excluding the bosses).
The details in this game, are impressive. I've never seen a game so detailed and perfect. The references to Kirby's past games are also well done (unlike in Smash, Sakurai bias -.-).
The game is based on Kirby Superstar (On KRTD that's based on KSS), but going deeper I noticed many details of the engine that are ported from Kirby 3, like how you can stun and kill enemies jumping into them from below, and other very minor details in some abilities.
What I really loved of this game is the art style, that's finally returned to be something similar to what I loved from Kirby 64 and Kirby 3, with a modern touch added.
Just like for the super abilities, Hypernova gets boring very fast, but despite this the game is still one of the best Kirby games ever made.

Honorable mention to Amazing Mirror, I love how some abilities control in that game and how they implemented the multiplayer, and Kirby 64, that's not in my top 3 just because it has some problems in the controls and in the gameplay that make the overall experience less enjoyable than what it should have been; also some minibosses felt dull.

Least favorites (1 worst):
3-Kirby Superstar
I like this game, but it's not one of my favorites, because it emphasized too much the fighting and the "epicness" of the story, leaving out immersivity and dream-like atmospheres. Exploding airships and planets, Kirby destroying things all the time... It feels like a beat em up, and there is very few proper platforming (level design is mostly made of fighting rooms and puzzles rather than platforming).
Also I've never been a fan of how some abilities have turned out in this game, for example the sword - that very long range attack where Kirby launches images of the sword against the enemy doesn't make much sense... even in the recent games, I never use that move. Every ability gives you hitboxes in every direction, so that there isn't much difference between abilities; I don't like how when you jump, it makes different moves depending on if you was running or not when you jumped (this is sometime confusing and there are moves that boost you forward, that if used in the wrong moment could damage you - this also applies to the recent Kirby games, but Superstar was the first one introducing this gimmick) and I don't like how some moves are combo based.
Also, I found the great cave offensive to be a pain, not because it's hard, but because it's boring and annoying, especially the tower/castle part.
2-Kirby Returns to Dreamland
This game is good, and the engine is the same of Triple Deluxe, with some very minor differences... but this game feelt a bit bland to me compared to most of the other Kirby games. Part of this is because I did more than 50% of the game without even knowing who was the enemy in the game and what was the point of fighting those apparently pointless orbs just to repair a broken airship (then, in the final part, the story is explained, but at the beginning I was just confused and not motivated at all).
The level themes were a bit NSMBish, grassland, beach, desert, snow, lava... there were some memorable levels (basically just Nutty Noon) but everything else felt a bit flat. Also the level design was not that fun, but on a positive side, the difficulty level was decent in some parts.
The super abilities are the most boring things in the world.
The music, most of the times, tries so hard to imitate classic themes from older Kirby games instead of having its own personality.
1-Kirby Squeak Squad
I love Daroach, he's awesome, but something felt off about this game. Also, the visual style, that's the same of Nightmare in Dreamland and Amazing Mirror, is not my favorite.
The abilities and the physics in the game are different from the prequel. I loved the abilities in Amazing Mirror, but I think they changed for the worst in this game.

(dis)honorable mention to Kirby's Dreamland 1, that's fun and all, but it feels more like a demo, and without the abilities it's just half Kirby (I know that's where everything started, but still...)

Everything else is in the middle (I don't think there is much more, Epic Yarn, Kirby's Adventure, Kirby's Dreamland 2... I'm sorry for Kirby's Adventure, some years ago it was in my top 3 after Canvas Curse, then I changed my opinion a bit).

I have a bit of an odd list for my favorite / least favorite Kirby games, but here goes! : :kirby:

***1: Kirby Triple Deluxe
Personal View: I don't know why, but the newer Kirby games seem to give me more appeal than the older ones?! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE old Kirby games with their pixel-like graphics and own feel to them! But Triple Deluxe (besides sounding something on a McDonalds menu), had me at low expectations before it came out. Boy was I wrong. This game has to have one of my favorite soundtracks in my video game library and the key chain aspect was one of the biggest nostalgia bombs I've had in a while! :) It also got me through a tough part I was going through so that helped a pretty big amount. Also, the developers clearly put in a lot of effort, including the hidden Easter Eggs into this installment which I highly appreciate!

**2: Kirby Super Star Ultra
Personal View: While not a surprise, I've had to of played through this game over 10 times or so and completed the entire thing. Everything from the amazing gameplay to even having the world record for the True Arena at one point, this game has so many awesome memories stored into my mind that when I look back on them I remember how great the Kirby series truly is!

*3: Kirby Mass Attack
Personal View: This is a shocker! I think I liked this game so much because it was something new and very fun to experiment with. Having up to 10 mini-destructible Kirbys to control against even a gigantic enemy was so much fun to battle. All the bosses were very fun to fight against (for the most part), and the mini-games this game had were superior. Some may score this as average, but there are just some games that stick to you for certain, odd reasons which make you enjoy them even more!

{Very Honorable Mentions : Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, Kirby's Dream Land 3}

Top 3 Least Favorite:

***1: Oh, I actually don't see any Kirby game that I strongly dislike. It's hard because I'll admit that I do have bias when it comes to the Kirby series just because I grew up with it and they were some of the first few games I ever played. Kirby, Smash, Pikmin, and the Mario & Luigi RPGs are my favorite series of all time so it really is hard to dislike any of the games. I enjoy almost every character introduced to the Kirby franchise and there are some very memorable ones you meet along the way. I just can't wait to see where the creators will go from here on out and how new characters such as Bandana Dee's popularity will evolve! :kirby:
