Hey I just took off work for this. Everyone said that the last one was fun, so I'm gonna be there.

MD/VA's scene is so powerful, these things could get real big real fast. May I suggest raising the entrance fees some to get a little bit bigger prizes? People usually pay 10 for singles, sometimes 15 or 20.

I'll be there either way tho. See you guys there.

it'd be nice if entry was 10 for each. since nothing comes out of the pot it'd be a good prize+not too hefty entry

Although Baltimore is cheap, we should do at least one event that has more than a 5 dollar entry fee. Just to mix things up y'know.

Glad to hear you're coming, Wife.

Edit: after some more thought (not a whole lot really, lol), I have decided to up the singles entrance fee to $10. I know this may detract many players from coming, but at the same time it may attract more competitive players. Like Wife said, these events can get real big real fast, and a higher entrance fee might keep the less serious players from coming to a competitive event.

What do you guys think about also raising the doubles fee to $10?

i don't care who shows up, i just wanna play smash

*** a higher entry fee, save that for the bigger tournies like C3 and this jc media fight club shizz

i like not paying 15bux every weekend, i honestly think the winner should just get a free burger from the grill, i'd be happy with that

i think the entry fee as 10 is reasonable for both.

we already have chus biweeklies and catonsvilles biweeklies at $5 a pop. we don't need a 3rd one really as much as we ened a decent venue besides c3 with a decent entry fee.

who knows how jc media will actually come out

ttrue :p but thats cuz me/husband/omni/chu were all in MA.

anywhom, @EE, $10 for both really isn't bad compared to most tournaments. The best way to get better is to play against top players. The best way to attract top players is to offer money. When first place with 30 people gets $60 for singles, it's not that much of a draw.

Yo UMBC SS, Trust me on this one. Go for the Raise. The players that say they wont come because of the price increase, will end up coming to play the good players that DO show up for the price increase. So its a win/win situation.

So players who dont want the increase cuz they arent good enough to win, aka: Chillindude, Will come anyway to play the better players that **** them across the stage, aka: WIFE. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just messing with you chillin

So we have people who want both events at $5 or at least one at $5 per person, and people who want at least one event at $10 or both events at $10.

Solution: Singles = $10; Doubles = $5, at least for this one tournament.
Thats decent, dont change it

im coming and bringing my cube
Nice. I'd like to hear more of that. Last time we could have had one additional tv running but we didn't have an extra cube and copy of smash. Note that even though there are 5 cubes already there, none of the cubes have SSBM except mine. Bring your cubes, but in particular bring a copy of Smash and of course your controller.

Appletree/Levitibus/cmart/EEVisu/Nikk, how are you guys going to get here this time? I know FrozenChaos won't be there because of getting his wisdom teeth removed, and didn't he drive some of you last time? Maybe Nurok could drive you? I dunno, but you're all too close to not come because of a ride issue, and I need Appletree's laptop to run the tourney :p

Spring break has begun for me :( Home is so boring... I'm getting 3 guys over to smash tomorrow afternoon/evening, at least. I heard Frozen was in southern Maryland today. I wish I knew so I could meet up to play a bit. I live half an hour south of Waldorf.

UMBC - I'm probably taking a cab since I don't want to walk, if not that I'll try the UMBC bus (I was on it a few days back no incident).

Yeah I think the UMBC transit is your best bet. They never check IDs, and you look like a college student. Does the transit go all the way to your place? The furthest it took me was Beechtree ave., and I prefer not having to schedule myself to a transit and wait, so I just ride my bike or walk :D

It literally stops a few houses down from me. So yeah if they don't ask for ID I'll probably take it.

Edit: The bus TO UMBC, but I'm pretty sure the returning bus stops across the street, I'll check but I could always get the bus there, and take a cab home if need be.
