I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't find any mention of it in FAQs.
I rarely visit here, either, so it's clear to say I don't know too many detail-specific attack properties.

I've played Lucas since Brawl came out, and my game is fairly consistent, but I've noticed that Lucas' backthrow seems to release opponents at wildly different trajectories at times. Anything from up at a relatively steep angle to almost completely horizontally. I'm not sure if this is based on the character being thrown, or is something else.

Anyone know?

EDIT: If I remember correctly, I got these different trajectories in the same match, on the same character. Wasn't on WiFi, so I don't think it's just DI lag, but I suppose they could've messed up their DI anyway. Still, if there's something I'm missing, do fill me in.

I put my bet on DI. Maybe you were in a slant or something, I honestly don't remember how that affects the trajectory. DI plain and simple amirite?

Nah, no slant. Final Destination. I can only imagine it's DI, but a 30-40 degree change in trajectory is pretty huge for most characters. If I could remember who it was that I was fighting when I remembered about this the other day, it might make more sense.

It is most definitely DI.

Only try to KO opponents with bthrow if they're always DIing down for some reason. <<<< should not be the case.

Aright. DI was all I could think of, but I figured I'd ask in case there was some commonly unknown wonky attack properties or something.

The difference was so large I couldn't imagine it would just be DI, so I figured I'd ask.

I've killed with Bthrow at the edge at 81% because my foe had horrible DI. It's better than Ness's.
I'm pretty sure that kills earlier than any throw in the game, right?

Some throws can spike King Dedede for an OHKO on the right side of Battlefield, iirc. Sonic's is the only one that comes to mind though. Prolly GnW too.
