yes i had a great time yesterday with cao, forblaze, JM and eRick it was awsome, even though i had my own *** handed to me after it was givin a proper tenderising by both JM and eRick. I think i trained for a whole 3 hours when i got home, maybe because i had lots of insperation from the other falco players. The short hop lazer still eludes me though, i keep phantasmming of the edge :(

South Easternly Australian Tournament.
Honourbly named so because all states from Australia's east coast represented at the original SEAT
right from QLD through NSW and VIC right down to TAS
ACT doesn't count, sorry guys.
technically we should change the name, but i think it should stay the same even though the west and south coast are now representing.
In tradition to the states that attended the first. XD
Go tradition!
....Tradition kick!!!!

edit* and because it was held in the south.
we have to be specific here lest we be corrected

I don't think you should bring Mario Kart, it's far too unbalanced. In the words of Shaz, "It's like 1 Peach with 24 Game and Watches". Souljah and I really had to laugh at that one, because it's just so true! xD But please, by all means, bring the Jimmies =P

Haha, jaz. I copied and pasted what you typed. Not my fault (cop-out) ^_^

So many posts in this topic, haha. We might need a seperate topic for Perth if we're ever going to get new smashers to check the thread often enough without having to wade through unimportant Melbourne info, and spam like my post here =D.

In fact, the point of an Australian Thread is lost on me. We've simply outgrown this thread and perhaps nowadays it's too busy for its own good. Gone are the days when the Aussie scene consisted of 4 people, lol. I'm all for Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane threads! But what about tradition?! noooooooo....

Looks like a truckload of Sydney is coming to SEAT2. The first state is no longer the suckiest state, hahahar. 'preciate your effort guys. ^_^

Lots of people should go to SEAT2.

I know I'm going to regret asking, but how does that work? It's not that unbalanced.

If anything, it's very balanced. The randominity of the items make it an almost level playing field.

lol bringer yeh i spell like a poorly educated baboon on crack
you know the one on cartoon network.
and i KNOW he's on crack
i don't think this thread should be abandoned, but i think that there should be other threads for VIC, NSW, WA, well not TAS... lol unless sloth wants to talk to his brother XD
we should keep this thread for everyone to talk about whatever and have seperate state ones for specific jargon, and secret plans to crush state rivals *evil laugh*
QLD have already done this aswell.

Cao i think the thread is busy at the moment because of the SEAT2 hype
it'll die down eventually... is that a good thing?

isn't SEAT called SEAT because it's held in south east australia? since if it was just about all the eastern states attending it would be called EAT?

i don't think we really have enough smashers in australia to bother bout multiple threads for the different states, i like the fact i can just check one thread to see what is happening all over the place.

now onto mario kart... there is no such thing as braking in mario kart. you actually have about 3 karts to choose from but only one of those is the fastest and most versatile kart which races the fastest on almost every track. once you realise only lightweights stand a chance, only one player can choose baby bowser and diddy who can get their character specific specials in first place which is very bad if you get stuck with toad and baby mario. chain chomp special actually makes you go slower than racing normally (babies suck). lightning gets used as people are about to go off jumps so they fall off the track and lose more time than if they were just made small and it takes away your items, blues can be obtained from 2nd through to 8th which is why you should never come 1st till you feel you can win, a starman allows a player to go even faster, become invincible and catch up or pull away into the lead without anyone being able to do anything against them = super cheap. these last 3 being used to catch up to 1st is one thing but what about when 1st has a star and lightning from purposely dropping to 4th at the start of the race? he can lightning when he sees you get a blue or starman to gain more speed while becoming invincible to your lightning/blue. since the recommended items have so many problems you turn them to basic but that then makes it so you can only choose the fastest kart to race against people who are the same level of skill as you which is why the game is unbalanced unless everyone likes choosing the same kart.

Blargh, MK:DD isn't that great. I think it's more suited to the laughing, have-fun style gaming than competition or anything serious.

Sure, there are strategies and such, but it's all just "to drop back or to stay ahead". You need luck, too.

I think it's an okay game, but it gets boring. Smash on the other hand is challenging and you are in control of every little thing you do. It's a lot closer to skill than MK:DD is. You don't get lucky in Smash unless it's just hoping back in time to make a ledgehog, or your opponent SD's. That's not to say Smash isn't have-fun style too. I enjoy getting owned. :D

Been a while since I posted...I'm thinking of having a few people over after my exams conclude; this would mean from the 12th onwards. So yeah. I'll get back to you.

I need smash practice... -_-

You could say the same thing about smash with 'items on'...MKDD is good coz it has the choice of items on or off....I just dont like it due to the stages...not my cup of tea...the lack of shortcuts killed it for me....theres like 2 in the whole game lol.

Agreed. Very annoyed with that. Go off-course a little and get dragged back on....MK: DS should have that fixed though.

Concurrage.

I'm not too experienced with MK 64, so my bias goes to the original, but going by what's been said about it, I imagine that 64 is just as good if not better.

the racing in MK64 sucks so bad it isn't funny, the only thing it excels at over DD is battle since DD battle sucked so hardcore

people don't give MKDD enough credit i think. the racing element of the game was vastly improved from previuos versions, it's just that recommended items gays it up and the lack of a jump and ghost house track seems to make people dislike it a little bit more. i'm more than happy to vs anyone at MKDD with items turned to basic.

edit: people(shaz) also dislike the lack of obvious skip half a track shortcuts ;3

More concurrage.

F-zero GX is a fantastic game. For the week that I rented it, I couldn't stop playing it. Love them drifts and whatnot. And that attack feature that lets you knock your opponents off the track is brilliant; by the end of the week I was pro at it. :p

In my opinion this is the true order.

Snes, nice speeds , you picked up speed.
It was actually worth picking bowser!!
Nice battle mode.

Double dash, Fun. 2 people in a kart Some new added aditions aswell.

And n64 last.
Good things about snes and 64 though was it was easier to protect yourself from items.
In dd it's harder to protect yourself from red shells and all the other wacky items.

Actually snes and gamecube get equal first.

All this talk about Mario kart reminds me that Mario kart DS comes out 17th of November (day before my birthday kick a$$) from what I hear and from what I have seen it looks like it will be the best Mario kart game
. First online DS game/Mario kart/ Nintendo game
. More than 30 courses drawn from every Mario Kart game. From Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, not to mention brand-new tracks and arenas.
. There are a number of different unlockable karts
. Some kind of mission mode were u do different tasks eg doge crabs on a beach

I know what I’m getting for my birthday :bigthumbu

Im gonna be getting mariokart DS also. It better not be really crappy like that **** arse ****en one I got on GBA that was so lame. And another thing, from what I saw they added the worst stage from doubledash to DS, which is Peach castle stage...ugh!

It will be the best playing multi because this time nobody can view the items your holding from the spilt screen!!

Lol, MKDD is a hack for me. Seriously, there's no incentive to play for more than a few days. You get good, you master powerslide, you have train, you win. On top of which, you can't hop, which takes away any chances of doing cool turns in ANY kart, takes away from the corner cutting, and leaves you wishing you could do more than turn left or right. You could protect yourself just as well in MK64, and the blue shells were much more fair, since they would become an obstacle to all, and not just the best racer. Seriously after being the best racer by far in my division of the SuperChallengeMKDD thingy, and losing to a bombardment of blue shell, blue shell, koopa special in the first non-practise round my mind was already made. Changing to basic is all good and well, but it's still gay since it even further encourages the use of normal and plain tactics....taking any of the 2 item 'longcuts' is just a suicide mission coz all you'll get is a pair of banana anyway. If this game has any redeeming feature it would be the items turned off altogether, and testing your ability based on driving alone...then the karts bust up that idea too. Battle was fun, but the courses leave MUCH to be desired.
Oh and on those half track shortcuts....atleast the majority of them were real, as opposed to this game where the only big shortcuts are taken by laming the game up and glitching your success. The whole closing circle when u try jump from one part of the track to the other only further gets on my nerves.
Having such bad luck, I find myself standing a chance to win using skill alone only with the train + diddy + junior...since they are so broken at holding the lead.
It's a good game, but I can never see myself spending the countless hours I did on MK64 with this one.
When do we talk about smash again?

I've recently started playing F-Zero GX, finished story mode, the FMV's are so cool, Captain Falcon gets pretty cocky at the end, which gets really annoying.

I love it, White Cat and Space Angler are my fav F-Zero's

Right now, Harken.

Melbourne was fun, I FE'd Harken to hell and back again, but his units were odd. better luck next time. Not to mention several hours of smash. I expected some schooling, but it wasn't there. how 'bout some words of wisdom?

We went to Em's too sort but sweet. But i think I need to play em more. I was stunned by her speed of play, again.

Where'd CAO go on that day though, no bowser hug/ditto... *Sniff*
