Yesterday, a Pokémon Presents was streamed! Here you’ll find a recap of everything shown off.

Starting things off, we got a showcase of what’s in store for the Pokémon World Championships 2023. The presentation showed off prizes, gifts, the venue in Yokohama, Japan and most notably a premiere of a new show. Pokémon: Path to the Peak is all about the trading card game. It will premiere August 11th at the venue, and then later on Youtube the same day.

A new Detective Pikachu Returns trailer immediately followed. Detective Pikachu himself narrates this trailer, gives us a brief overview of the cast, and shows off a bit of how the game works. Detective Pikachu Returns is slated to release October 6, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.

Next thing up was a teaser for the Pokémon Horizons: The Series anime. This will be the first mainline Pokémon anime series with a new protagonist, replacing Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu. Unfortunately, the release date was left up in the air with a “Coming Soon”.

The news didn’t stop there of course, as a ton of mobile game updates came right after! Firstly, Pokémon GO will be having GO Fests for London, Osaka and New York City. They’ll also be hosting a global GO Fest on August 26-27 2023. This GO Fest will feature Diancie for the first time, and Mega Rayquaza will be available in raids. And if that wasn’t enough, Pokémon from Paldea are slated to appear this September!

The next mobile game to get a showcase was Pokémon UNITE. It showed off a new game mode called “Panic Parade”. In said mode, players must guard a Tinkaton against a horde of Pokémon. Mewtwo will also be getting two licenses in UNITE which both play differently. Mewtwo License X is available now and Mewtwo License Y will be available August 17, 2023.

That wasn’t the end of the mobile updates either, as Pokémon Masters EX also got an update! Nemona and her partner Pawmot are here, and have a special event! She isn’t alone either as Victor and his trusty Spectrier are also coming on August 16th, 2023. The penultimate mobile update came next, this time for Pokémon Café ReMix. All three Tatsugiri forms are coming to the game, however you can only pick one to recruit. In addition, all players who login will receive a Jigglypuff with the Summer Fun outfit. There is also a new Tropical outfit Vaporeon that can be received in the deliveries mode! Finally, the last mobile game to get an update showed up, Pokémon Sleep! The game will be receiving a Good Sleep Day update on August 31, 2023. Currently, all that’s known about is that Snorlax’s drowsy power will increase.

The next announcement is one that pleased many Switch owners. Pokémon Trading Card Game for the GameBoy is now available on Nintendo Switch Online. Those who have the NSO Expansion Pack can also play the Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Stadium 2.

And finally, we got news for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet updates. First, there’s a Mew gift event and Mewtwo raid coming. Mew is available now, all players have to do to receive one is input “GETY0URMEW” (note the zero in “your”) in the Mystery Gift menu. Mewtwo’s raid isn’t available currently, however it will be on September 1, 2023 up till September 17, 2023.

We also got a new trailer for Scarlet and Violet’s DLC. The trailer gives us a glimpse at new places, trainers and even new Pokémon. There’s new evolutions for Applin and Duraludon called Dippin and Archaludon respectively. And finally, we saw two new Paradox Pokémon, a future version of Cobalion known as “Iron Crown” and a past version of Raikou, “Raging Bolt”!

While the presentation’s announcements ended there, there’s also one last tidbit to know about it. Apparently, it seems Youtuber ND Music’s fanmade arrangement of Area Zero was used in the trailer. This was done so without their permission or credit. Understandably, this has prompted some controversy. As of this writing, neither Nintendo or The Pokémon Company have commented on it. However they notably have a legal policy enabling them to use Fan Art without warning or credit. This article will be updated with their response if they give any in the future.

If you wish to see the presentation for yourself, please watch the video below:

Author’s Note: Not going to lie, I found that... pretty boring? It was 35 minutes, but felt more like 10 minutes worth of content, the content wasn't bad either. It's just the pacing felt really sluggish. Anyway, I did enjoy the new Paradox Pokémon and since it's Cobalion and Raikou, it got me thinking. I wonder if Terrakion and Entei are coming too? And maybe we could even get Keldeo and Ho-Oh to fit with the theme here, would be cool to see. Anyway, what did you think about all this? Please let us know in the comments below!
