I'm just your problem~
Stop complaining that you can't kill with him. If you're that sad about not being able to land a forward smash all day, go play Wolf.

If you really want to learn how to be a beast with Sonic, learn to rack up damage, gimp, and mindgame your way into a kill. Aka, look at the stickied/pre-existing threads for answers to your questions.

Izzy's guide/thread is under renovation, and the kill moves thread is too, except it's on the 2nd page.

>_>
Why is this this thread on the 2nd page?

T.T seriously, I put alot of time into it and the Sonic newbies who need it can't see it. Noone wants to bump it either, and I'm not going to go for a triple post.

Needs more mod powers here ;d (loljk)

lol like a few days. I mean one day, I had this idea that maybe at the right %, you can set up a spring>aerial from a U-throw, so I went ahead and tried it out on Marth, then I kinda guesstimated the amount of % to adjust to do it to other characters. I saw a bunch of videos, and interesting kills that I saw other people do, like LuCky did a grounded spindash combo > U-air > spring B-air, so I asked them if I could 'take' and publish their moves.

...and that was my 1st-2nd week playing Sonic.

xD

really, I rarely use those combos anymore. People DI out of throws all the time (and I haven't re-tested them with DI), so I just do punishment kills. I think the only ones I actually use often are the U-throw>B-air/U-air and the spindash > U-air >spring U-air combos xD

Btw, random sidenote, Sonic's sideB>Uair>Uair randomly has a LOT of hitstun. Like, I did it to Ferdi's Snake, and he couldn't get out. I don't know the percent or anything that it worked at, but that was definitely enough to make me happy. Sonic is weird, guize.

I'm telling you. Sonic's attacks and movements have the oddest properties at times O.o I randomly just slice through powerful moves at the weirdest instances.

Yeah... I'm kinda lost, too.

I'd recommend all our newcomers learn the English language, while they're at it.

Btw, Dsmash has IASA frames, in case no one knew.

Whatever you want. I normally do it into a jab, since people like to rush in after a missed dsmash and try to punish you. I'll intentionally miss, then jab>grab ftw.

I thought it was only into certain moves?

And is it a specific hitbox? The way you explain it, it sounds like the smaller one.

^no.... IASA means interrupted with anything :/
Just buffer your move once the d-smash has come back.
Should work... if not, throw your Wii out the window.

like the Falco dash upsmash combo

IASA is a gay name btw, it CANCELING. wtf. Only smash.....

Right.

So anyways, these IASA frames...

Just kidding :p

People only cancel into the moves that make practical sense. I guess that's why you hear of some "combos" more often than others despite other options being available.

IASA stands for interruptable as soon as. IASA frames means that you can stop a move early with any other moves, unless specified (ex, Falco's dash attack has IASA into usmash or grab). None of these moves can be cancelled early by a run.

Zelos? UNMANLY?!

You sir, have never played Tales of Synphonia before, so you have no idea what your talking about. I am also a debater, which I am proud to show.

I could change it to TO, but it just happens to match so I am ok with it.

Your name is TWINKLETOES. 'nuff said

(jk bro)

and P.S. to Izzy, "ending something early" is canceling. You can CANCEL Falco's dash attack into a grab or U-smash. CANCELLLLLL

Well, IASA is a property that some moves have to CANCEL (I agree with that) the move animation after some frames. You can cancel a IASA move with ANYTHING. That's why I THINK Falco's (and Snake's, etc) Dash cancel to USmash or grab isn't the same cancel stuff as IASA Frames, 'cause is limited to some moves (please correct me if I'm wrong). Sonic have IASA in dtilt and DSmash.

Here is a fragment of SmashWiki's description of IASA:

"Interruptable As Soon As Frames, abbreviated "IASA frames," are the period of time at which you can first interrupt an attack with another motion. They usually occur after hitboxes have disappeared. This period of time is often distinct from the amount of time it takes for the attack animation to finish. One attack that particularly exemplifies the concept is Marth's down tilt, which can be interrupted during the vast period of time Marth is retracting his blade..."

I think the pummel has some weird IASA / early-end frames- I think about as soon as his foot taps the ground, you can press A and hit the guy again. Timing > button mashing.

I agree to nuffing -.-
Except maybe that the REAL gay thing in question is the woman-y avatar and the pink name -.-
Zelos is more of a pimp than Luigi, btw.

Why? A little too close to home? How's down on your C-Stick treating you? Wearing out yet?

LOL do you even have a c stick now? I may be the only person in my area that doesn't spamm that move, its called damage reduction, noobs. safe it when it might actually kill something.

Ya know, I think Nair has those canceling frames when you land, like, when you land if you time it right he just goes from the ball to the move.
