I look at my opponent... you already know what YOU'RE going to do, why would you have to be looking at yourself?

Fighting against a snake and not paying attention to where you are is not the best thing to do.

I look at myself UNLESS I am playing against Zamus. :)
Always look both ways when you smash~

^lol

I tend to look at my opponent. Need to watch for those vulnerable moments and hints for when their attacks are coming.

As Sonic, I'd probably only get dizzy/annoyed watching myself move, and what I'm doing usually doesn't really matter until I'm actually inside my opponent's range XD

Occasionally I look at where I am so I can figure out how long it'll take to reach the other guy.

Am I the only one who watches the whole screen? o_O;

I think watching yrself, or just the opponent, would lead to imminent defeat as yr not paying attention everything around you.

i watch the opponent and occasionally glance at myself to make sure my spacing is correct. This method makes it much easier to predict / punish the opponent. As a previous poster said, you should know what your character is doing anyways.

At my opponents character, I'm comfortable enough with whoever I play not to have to check how i'm doing constantly.

I watch the entire screen lol...? Is it honestly hard for other people to watch both themselves and their opponents at the same time?

I'm thinking when people say they watch their opponents, they just mean they concentrate more on the opponent. Nobody can possibly watch their opponent and be completely oblivious to themselves and the surroundings.

I'm shifting from watching more of myself to watching more of my opponent. I'm just about to get perfectly comfortable with controlling my characters without having to keep checking if I'm doing what I should be doing.

When playing I normally mainly focus on the opponent, on a map like Final Destination it is easy to track where you are without focusing on yourself.

If you are speaking in terms of focusing rather than watching, then I'm generally focused on my opponent more as I know what I am going to do, but I always look where I am and what's around me.

I pay attention to everything that's going on at once. Where my opponent is, if I'm in the right position for a combo, or if they're in range for the smash attack they use the most, etc.

I watch the whole screen too. It especially helps when playing against or as certain characters (like Snake) or on non-neutral stages to see where both you and your opponent is, in addition to whatever other crap is on the screen.

in case you are in the edge of a cliff lol... but yea I always constently look at both but mostly my opponent though cause it's unpredictable (unless it's Ice Climbers because I will surely defeat them off without even trying)

95% of the time, I'm looking at my opponent, using peripheral to see myself. The only times I really look at myself are when my character does something unexpected (usually due to tripping), or I'm aiming a PKT2.

The whole screen when playinh 1v1

Free 4 all however is a different story. I look at whoever is closest to me and near the edges of the stage.

When I play Smash, I look at both because if you just look at your character, you don't know where the opponent is and if you only look at your opponent, you might run of the edge and die because you don't know where you are.

As Lucas, I only find it necessary to watch my self on PKT2 recoveries, as I have yet to master different angles. Otherwise, it's peripheral to me, and mostly to my opponent.
