among the figments of your imagination
Diamond one touch USB video capture device.

It has RCA audio plus component video/S-video inputs and hooks into any USB port on your computer. It comes with the software to capture and a decent video editor as well. you can find them at newegg.com for $40

From what I heard, you could do it with a vcr and a blank video tape.

Is that true? If so, how do you take it from the video to teh computer?
You'd need a capture device, which kinda defeats the point :p

Ways to capture video that I know of:
- usb capture device (ala gamebridge or dazzle etc)
- capture card (you put it inside your comp; is probably the best option)
- analog to dv converter (outputs via firewire. This is what you'll probably need if you're using mac or linux, note that some camcorders have these build in)
- record the match onto a dvd and then put it on your computer
