Why can't that still be accurate? We know Link is based in the sky for a lot of the game. And we have evidence that an artifact was located in the sky. And the entrance to that artifact is the same path that Navi took upon her departure. Finally it would make sense that Link's heritage/lineage would have such an important role in the series as being the official messenger for the royal palace.

It's inaccurate because my theory that Zelda Wii would be a sequel to Majora's Mask was debunked. The concept of Navi's relation to the Skyward Sword/Master Sword has yet to be debunked though because for all we know, the "Spirit of the Master Sword" girl may very well be Navi somehow or another. Only time will tell.

A theory I have is that fairies are some kind of being that originated in the heavens, which may or may not be affiliated with the Sacred Realm.

Apparently, angels that are caught on camera in real life look like floating orbs of light similar to the fairies in Kokiri Forest.
Seriously. Google it.
I'm pretty sure my mother's friend took a picture at church and these orbs came up. Don't take my word for it though. It was a long time ago.

Maybe that's what the fairies are based off of.

Origin of Veran and Onox?

Maleficent, the antagonist from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, is based on the tale of a wicked fairy godmother. If you've seen the movie, you'll know that in the end, she transforms into a dragon. So essentially, you have this evil fairy who takes the form of a human godmother who plans on sacrificing a princess, but when confronted by a brave hero, transforms into her dragon form to fend him off.

Veran was an evil fairy who tried to capture Nayru for sacrifice. Onox did the same with Din and in the end of the game, revealed himself to be a dragon. Merge the two characters and you have Maleficent. Furthermore, Maleficent opposed the other three fairies: Fauna (Green), Flora (Red), and Merryweather (Blue), corresponding colors to Farore, Din, and Nayru.

I actually prefer it when it isn't, because I love seeing references to other stories. I mean, original stories are nice, but if we can't get that I'd rather have something rich in lore or things I'm already familiar with laced in with the Zelda world.
