On some sites it could stand that a particular event occoured on 'January 1st 1970' for whatever reason. Some kind of glitch I suppose.

I'd be more worried about solar storms than anything else right now. The magnetic fields around those sun spots are getting real angry and twisty, if you get my astronomy drift:-p.

And for the record, asteroids are no longer a threat.

Yeah I do and I agree with you. I had completely forgotten about that future occourance.

I think deviantART is a little infamous for having this 1970 glitch. On most older members, if you go back to the first page of their watchlist, you could find a couple of people who "watched them on January 1st 1970".

It's happened in 1955 and 1989 I believe, although I could be a little bit off on the dates.

In 2012, it may be just A BIT more catastrophic.
