Alright everyone, this is what you've been waiting for. Get hyped for the MICHIGAN ARCADIAN! Hosted by Gamero, Beach, and myself.

In a nutshell, the Arcadian is a tournament without ranked players. That means everyone who has ever been ranked on the Michigan PR cannot compete. That also means everyone who has ever been ranked on another region's PR cannot compete.

No more getting four stocked by Duck first round. No more eating triple shines from KJH in pools. No more getting exposed by PR | Dre in bracket. It's gonna be all unranked players, and it's gonna be hype. If the top players attend, they'll be spectating and giving lessons through friendlies, not terrorizing the bracket!

Join us on April 25th for an epic day of unranked Melee action!

Crew Battle Rules:
Crew Battle Rules

Four crews of Arcadian players, drafted beforehand by PR player captains, will compete in a single-elimination bracket. Players compete in 1v1 gameplay versus the other crew until one crew runs out of stocks. The crew with remaining stocks at the end wins.

Crew Battle:
* 8 players drafted per crew
* 6 players participate per crew battle
* 24 stocks available per crew
* 4 stocks available per player

Gameplay:
* 4 stocks, no timer.
* Items OFF, Master Hand banned, Wobbling banned.

* Pokemon Stadium

First matchup to be decided by double blind pick and stage striking. In all following matches, the sitting player bans one stage and the incoming player counterpicks from the rest of the stages. The sitting player enters the next match with only the remaining stocks from the previous match, starting at 0%.

Additional Rules:
Additional Rules

* Player’s Choice Clause: You may play by a rule outside of this ruleset if your opponent agrees to it as long as it does not deliberately delay the tournament process. In the event of a disagreement, house rules stand.
* Double Blind Character Picks: Players may elect to double blind pick their characters for the first match in case of any disputes.
* Neutral Spawn Points: Players may elect to use neutral spawn points to decide controller ports for the first match in case of any disputes.
* Glitches: Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in forfeiture of the match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

Placings in Singles Pools are determined based on:
1. number of sets won
2. winning percentage in games (win/loss ratio)
3. head-to-head winner

In the event of an X-way tie in Singles Pools after all tiebreakers are exhausted, a best-of-1 round robin will be played out between the X players until there is a clear order of placings.

- SETUPS -

WE NEED PEOPLE TO BRING FULL SETUPS!

The tournament staff can only provide a couple TVs to start with, so it's up to the community to bring more and improve the quality of the event! More TVs means more friendlies and more playing time, so please do your part if you have equipment to lend us for the day. EVERY EXTRA SETUP MAKES A DIFFERENCE.

If you bring a full setup by 12pm, we will refund you $5 at the end of the tourney.

See everyone there! :)

I don't think Columbus OH has had a PR, but I'm assuming abu, hanky, drephen can't enter?
Yup. This is very much intended to be a Michigan tourney, so if any OoS players are interested in attending, they should contact Gamero, Beach, or myself to ask about eligibility.

I'm assuming pools are top 2-3 players get out into the singles bracket?

Also, is there any way to pay in person?

Yes, it'll have to be top 2 advance due to huge turnout expectations, otherwise we wouldn't be able to do RR pools.

Online registration will be required, no transactions at the door.

I live in Ohio and am looking to attend. I'm not ranked anywhere in the state. Am I eligible?

Hey @ Juggleguy Juggleguy we've fought a couple times before. Some guys from my region are going to this and want me to go with them, but I'm not sure I'm eligible. I've never been ranked (in Melee) in my state, but I have some pretty decent results at some tournaments so I thought I'd ask you.

Since we've already had a bunch of out-of-state registrants, I have to issue a reminder:

Please remember that non-Michigan players are not allowed in unless screened by Alex Gamero for skill level before registering. This is a Michigan Arcadian, not a Midwest Arcadian, so we are evaluating out-of-state players on a case-by-case basis. If you're a non-Michigan player who registers without being screened, or tries to deceive the TOs with a different gamertag, we reserve the right to DQ you on site during the tourney. Don't let it come to that.

How do non-Michigan players get screened? I am a sucky Ohio player who has been to one tourney, SWEET 17, and didn't make it out of pools. My old tag was TheRedWond3r, but changed it to Lucid not because I was trying to deceive anyone, but because I didn't like my last tag.

Sorry, this was a vague post. I am signed up for the Arcadian on smash.gg. However, for some reason I'm not signed up in the singles event itself.

It's fine, it was cleared up. At the time, I couldn't select any event to participate in, but Juggles fixed it. He said it must have had to do with me being the last person to sign up. Thanks Juggleguy!
