Approach Help!

I want to know how I can approach! I have been using the N-air, because it ends before you land, and you can drift away or d-tilt and pray for shield stab...

But there is so little shieldstun in this game, I find myself on the recieving end of a grab half the time I attack! I was wondering how you guys approach good players, especially toon link who has better options than the arrows...

EDIT: I just looked at my replies in there. What I say about short hop N-airs is outdated. It does work well, like you said.

Powershield everything. Dash at your opponent and prepare to Powershield their attack. If they don't do anything, Powershield anyway to cancel your dash animation and follow up with any move in your arsenal.
