I'd like to point out, Fox and Falco from Assault as trophies were stated as being from Assault in their names I believe, this Wolf trophy clearly just says "Wolf", and nothing else.
That's pretty damning.

Didn't the spacies alt trophies typically have the full name, in this case, "Wolf O'Donnel", though?

I'm not getting my hopes up, but there's still room.

It is Assault Wolf yes, but you have to at least admit it's not a promising indication. Will you admit that? Not a nail in the coffin, but it's bad.

Because you get character trophies by completeing All-Star and Classic Mode. Since he said he BOUGHT the trophy with the coins, yeah. There ya go.

For starters, he said he bought it in the trophy shop with coins that transfered from the 3DS demo, as opposed to earning it through Classic mode or something. Second, the trophy name does not mention the game the model is from like how Falco's assault trophy in brawl was name "Falco (Assault)." It just says Wolf. You can even see in that screen shot the Paper Mario Trophy does the same thing. It's called "Mario (Paper)"

I think it's been concluded that the one of the character select screen is OLD, and a screenshot from the Japanese eShop. It should be taken down @ Mr. KoopaTurtle
